KAWS’ Karimoku Companion About to Drop

The long awaited wooden interpretation of KAWS’ signature Companion character will be released this Saturday, with the limited edition of 100 initially being offered up at the Original Fake flagship store, Tokyo.

The legendary Brooklyn based street artist has created many different variations of the Companion over the years, but the 30cm tall Karimoku’s fine art style makes it one of the most striking yet.

Retailing at ¥252,000 (around £1,700), Karimoku is the most expensive Companion yet. A high price to pay, yes, but the sculpt is fast becoming one of KAWS’ most desirable pieces amongst collectors.
