Opening this Saturday (January 14th) at Sacremento’s Dragatomi gallery and shop, Dragon Boy is the latest solo exhibition from artist and toy designer Martin Hsu. Featuring a number of new paintings inspired by Hsu’s latest character creation, the star of the show will inevitably be the unveiling of his latest toy prototype, based on Dragon Boy himself. Opening night is set to feature a special appearance of the toy’s sculptor, Vin Teng, and of course Hsu himself.
‘Dragon Boy, a series of paintings depicting the adventures of a boy in dragon suit on his way to find his roots in a foreign land. With his kirin dog, Blackie by his side, they travel between reality and fantasy. They fly over the tallest of mountains and dive into the deepest of rivers while making new friends with magical creatures of all kinds. Dragon Boy aims to remind everyone to never forget the joy of being a kid, flying high, and smiling big!’
