Released earlier this month, the S.L.U.G Zombies (Silly Little Ugly Guys) are the latest keshi-style mini figure series from Jakks Pacific. Similar to the M.U.S.C.L.E lines of the 80’s, the 1.5″ tall PVC toys have been released in 3, 6, and 12 packs, with a total of 18 different zombies to collect (check out That Figures’ in-depth review here), each with their own suitably comic name and backstory.
Wasting no time in getting to work these guys, our good friend Adam Pratt has sent over some pics of a series of 8 customs he’s just finished. Featuring King Guts, Cap’n Scurvy Jack, Grave Lincoln, Neil Armgone, Rigormortis Lourdes, Jon B. Gone, Erik the Dead and Decayin’ Don, the meticulously hand painted figures carry all of the hallmarks of Adam’s work; a considered choice of colour, overwhelming attention to detail and a level of finish that surpasses anything we could ever hope for in a production run.
Unfortunately, King Guts, Cap’n Scurvy Jack, Neil Armgone and Rigormortis Lourdes have already been snapped up by one lucky collector, but anyone interested in purchasing the other 4 will be glad to know that these will be available for around $10 each from Adam’s Big Cartel shop tonight (24th March). Do not fret if a particular figure you’re after isn’t available, Adam promises that there will be more S.L.U.G action to come in the near future…
