We’ll FINALLY be returning to our regular news posts tomorrow (thanks for your patience over the last few days guys!), but first we bring you a mini report on the hottest new toy joint in the UK… Walthamstow’s Toy Shack! Brainchild of Triclops Studio‘s Luc and Rob Clops, the incredible space recently opened it’s doors at the Wood Street Indoor Market in North London, catering to both children and adults alike with one of the most impressive collections of 80s/90s/00s classics and obscurities we’ve ever had the luck to stumble across.
Featuring the likes of iconic gross-out lines Toxic Crusaders, Food Fighters and Madballs, rare knock-offs including the Sungold Monsters and Pocket Beasts, sought after minis such as Wrestlers In My Pocket, Mini Boglins and Body Wars, plus a number of the guys’ own products from their illustrious time in the industry, the mesmerising shop offers a fascinating insight into the Triclops aesthetic, and more importantly, shows the poor, toy starved kids of today how good things used to be!
Open most weekdays from 10am right through to 5.30pm, anyone in the area with even the remotest interest in the golden age of toys is going to need to take a trip over at some point- and those that aren’t? Well you better start planning that pilgrimage now!!! Keep track of the Toy Shack Facebook page here for opening days, and be sure to stay tuned for news of a new online store soon…
