MAN-E-XCLUSIVE// Unbox Industries’ Visible Man protos at ToyShack…

We took some time out yesterday to head over to Triclops‘ Toy Shack over in Walthamstow, London, to talk shop, bag some toys, and of course, check out Unbox Industries‘ incredible Invisible Man prototypes in-person! Based on 2000AD‘s fateful Frank Hart from early obscurity Visible Man, the release is set to feature a number of interpretations of the character, including an “OG” design from Skull Toys, plus “bootleg” versions in the form of (from left to right) Datadub’s cyborg, Paul Kaiju’s Mars Attacks homage, Real x Head’s cycloptic self-portrait and Matt Doughty’s Glyos Pheyden.

Once again taking designer toy production to a whole new level, Unbox have been hard at work experimenting with a mixture of new mediums for the release, with the full articulated, 12″ figure featuring hard vinyl muscles, guts and bones that have been seemingly impossibly skinned with a layer of super-soft vinyl- truthfully, even with the figures in-hand we were having trouble working out how these things were fitted so tightly!

With just a few more tweaks (plus the rumoured inclusion of another design from MVH!) to go before this monumental project heads into production, be sure to stay tuned for final proto reveals, paint tests and release details over the coming weeks…
