Whilst this past weekend’s GNOSIS group show at Toy Art Gallery played host to a number of different Shikabane Kaiju customs from Blood Guts Toys‘ Izumonster, it was the reveal of his latest sofubi that really stole the show… the stunning Namanari Ningyo! An ingenious blend of Japanese folklore, the figure features the head of Namanari – a half beast/half human creature – and the body of Ningyo – a fish-like creature often referred to as “mermaid”. Pictured here as a flesh-toned test pull, it would appear that the piece comes in at around the same size as the Shikabane Kaiju (10″+), with articulation in both the arms and neck. Sadly not for sale at the event, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that the figure will be making it’s debut in the near future. Keep track of Izumonster’s Instagram feed here for more news soon…
