Originally debuting in blank form a few weeks back, the second wave of “Dissolution of Smoke” sofubi from Algangu has finally seen its first painted release! Featuring a total of 3 all-new designs inspired by traditional yokai and 1970’s candy shop playing cards, the figures – a gourd holding monk, a castle and a cycloptic hat – stand a little shorter than the first release at around 2.5″-3″ each, coming complete with a finger puppet-style open base design. Produced in the same “red bean” colored soft vinyl as their first outing, the trio have been adorned with simple silver and yellow sprays with black brushed detailing. Currently available to Japanese customers through the Fat Moes store here for just 3,132yen ($26) plus shipping, overseas orders can be placed by e-mailing Algangu directly at algangu@bugsyweb.co.jp

But that’s not all! For those that are still in love with the first Dissolution of Smoke release, you’ll be glad to know that it’ll be returning as part of a 2 pack release with Nerdone‘s M.O.T.U.L.O.S play set! Originally debuting unpainted at Superfestival 68 a few weeks back, the pair have been produced in the same smoke clear soft vinyl, this time coming with matching silver and red sprays. Look out for the set in the Fat Moes store soon…
