Originally teased way back in February in unpainted green and flesh test shot colours, the debut sofubi from Ummikko (Monkey 3000), entitled “Koningu”, will finally be up for grabs next week! Sticking with the artist’s reoccurring primate theme, the wonderfully realised figure appears to draw from a number of different influences, including vintage sofubi, Hirota Saigansho’s Gorilla Ju and TTToys’ Bigfoot, albeit in Monkey’s instantly recognisable, super chunky style. Cast up in a dark grey soft vinyl with silver/mauve sprays for this first release, edition size and pricing on the beast are still to be confirmed, but we’re told to expect him in the new Ummikko store this Sunday, May 11th at 5pm Central European Time (EST+6).
