Hot on the heals of the “Killed Kane” one-off silent auction just a few weeks back, our very own Tru:Tek has once again teamed up with CO.OC29 for yet another Gamarah release… presenting the “Killer Kane” micro-run! Standing at around 8″ tall and featuring 5 points of articulation, the amphibious kaiju has been cast in a green soft vinyl this time around, coming with layers of metallic green, flesh and brown sprays that resemble the coloring of the infamous Kane toad. Limited to an edition of just 4 pieces, each coming complete with matching worm omake, “Killer Kane” will be touching down in the Gory Hole/Softoy Hobby store alongside a number of other items this Friday, July 8th at 9pm London time…

PLT Toy’s first official painted Ultra Bastard…

Having seen a number of super-limited artists runs over the past couple of months, PLT Toy’s Ultra Bastard finally sees its first official paint run this week! Standing at an impressive 12″ tall with 8 points of articulation, the evil looking beast has been produced by Unbox in a grey soft vinyl this time around, coming with a mix of white, green, blue and burgundy sprays with a matching ray gun. Limited to just 4 pieces priced at $220 each, anyone interested in bagging one is going to need to fire over their details to plttoys@foxmail.com before Friday, July 8th… But that’s not all! Joining the standard run, PLT will also be offering up a special “Death Metal” one-off too. Once again cast in grey vinyl, this one has been treated to silver sprays and black hand painted detailing. Mandarake’s “Cerberus J3” Mazinger Z sofubi…

After being strangely ignored by the toy world for the past 40 years, Mazinger Z’s Cerberus J3 has finally made its into sofubi courtesy of Mandarake! Standing at a whopping 21.5″ tall, the 3-headed super ‘bot has been realised in the same super-chunky style as the original jumbo toys of the 1970’s, coming with a authentic masked paint app and deluxe, vintage style box. Going on sale in Japan as part of the upcoming “DaiManSai” festival, a limited supply of Cerberus J3 has been held back for overseas sales at 38,000yen each (a steal when you consider its size!). Anyone interested in trying their luck is going to need to fill out the dedicated lottery form right here before close on July 31st…

Triclops x Unbox’s “Ballock” Big B.A.S.T.A.R.D…

He’s been almost 2 years in the offing, but the latest Big B.A.S.T.A.R.D from Triclops Studios – the mighty Ballock – will finally be making his debut soon! As with the first figure Pee-Nut, Ballock has been digitally scanned by Unbox Industries from the original custom bootleg mini, coming perfectly upscaled and reproduced as a mid-size figure (approx 6″-7″ from what we can tell). Seen here in an unpainted black soft vinyl, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that this late production shot will mean the little guy will be making his first appearance soon… Stay tuned for more info!

Aliens Park’s Medicom exclusive HARRY sofubi…


Debuting at Superfestival 71 earlier in the year, Aliens Park’s HARRY sofubi is set to return later this month as a Medicom Toy exclusive! Standing at little under 3.5″ tall, the adorable 2-part extra terrestrial has been produced by Angel Abby in a GID soft vinyl for this latest outing, coming with a mix of blue and pink sprays contrasted with deep black mask detailing. Going on sale via open preorder through Medicom starting Sunday, July 24th, HARRY will set you back just 4,320yen plus shipping…

Hariken’s Mad Panda sofubi returns…

Japanese artist Hariken is proud to unveil that his highly popular Mad Panda sofubi is set to return later today! Designed by Hariken and sculpted by TTToy’s Yoshihiko Makino, the awesome figure stands at just over 6″ tall, coming with articulation in the arms, legs and neck. Produced in 3 different colorways this time around, we have the return of the standard white/black along with 2 as-yet-unreleased editions- one of which presumably coming in the form of the clear pink/orange that was teased a couple of weeks back. All coming packed in a windowed paper bag with collectors card for just 5,400yen ($48) plus shipping, the trio of Mad Pandas will be going on sale right here at 9pm London time tonight (7/6)…

Algangu x Life At Your Own RISK’s Bambi sofubi…

Sofubi producer Algangu has teamed up with punk outfit Life At Your Own RISK for the release of their Bambi mascot in sofubi! Based on the band’s instantly recognisable neon pink design, which in turn was inspired by Disney’s iconic fawn, this beautifully realised piece appears to stand at around 3.5″ tall, coming with one point of articulation found in the neck. Produced in an authentic neon pink soft vinyl and treated to a mix of black and white sprays, this debut version will be going on sale at Wonderfestival Summer ’16 on Sunday, July 24th, with further stock hopefully heading online soon after…

We’ve already unveiled our very own Tru:Tek‘s entries for the upcoming Xenoplasm group show, but with the Melborne-based Outre Gallery opening its doors in just a few days time, we thought we’d give you guys a few more details about how things are going to go down… Focussing on the fusion of cultures in the present indie toy scene, a collection of over 20 artists have been called upon to blend traditional Japanese toy design and production with Western influences including pop, horror and sci-fi, resulting in a selection of some of the best one-offs and micro-runs the scene currently has to offer.
