Hot on the heels of Mechavirus’ release earlier in the week, the guys behind Violence Toy have just been revealed as the latest artists to take on Awesome Toy‘s Fiji Mermaid sofubi! Designed and sculpted by Gorgoloid based on the infamous folk tale of the same name, the creepy 2-part amphibian has been produced in both black and olive green soft vinyl this time around, with both receiving very different paint apps courtesy of VT’s Zach Taylor. Limited to just 15 pieces of each, the Violence Toy Fiji Mermaids will be touching down right here on Saturday, May 21st at 6pm PST for just $30 each plus shipping…

Designed, sculpted and painted by the artist, this all-new addition to the ever growing universe of Le Merde takes on a kappa-inspired look, coming hand cast in clear resin and treated to a hand brushed app in those signature pastel acrylics. Recently teaming up with a new and very experienced sofubi producer in Japan, Devils Head Productions are proud to offer up the very first fruits of their collaboration…  the gorgeous unpainted pink Alavakas you see above! Coming in at around 5″ tall, featuring articulation in the neck and including an additional, full interchangeable Bodhisattiva head, each figure is due to come cast in a retina melting neon pink soft vinyl complete with black glass eye inserts. Super7’s Power Con exclusive M.O.T.U.S.C.L.E Slime Trash Can sets….

Super7 have revealed that they’ll be descending upon LA’s Power-Con: The He-Man and She-Ra Toy & Comic Book Experience next month with an epic new exclusive… the M.O.T.U.S.C.L.E “Slime” Trash Can! Featuring all 12 figures from the original MOTU x M.U.S.C.L.E line-up, the classically styled 2″ minis have been produced in a gorgeous clear slime green PVC, coming packed in an authentic trash can rub with moulded Skeletor lid and plastic Slime wrap. Going on sale at the event between June 4th and June 5th, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that any leftovers make it online soon after…

SX Toy xRecycleC’s “Wonderful Sea” Yabanjin…

The elusive SX Toy have teamed up with artist RecycleC for the very first third party run of Yabanjin sofubi! Based on the infamous 2-headed monster seen in live/stop motion classic Jack the Giant Killer, the beautifully realised beast had been sculpted by Siccaluna Koubo, coming in at around 9″ tall and featuring 7 points of articulation. Produced in an aquamarine soft vinyl for the release, the “Wonderful Sea” Yabanjin has been treated to layers of contrasting metallic spray and hand brushed detailing courtesy of RecycleC. As if the recently revealed Matballs weren’t enough, artist Grizlli Atom has just revealed yet another line of toys he’s poised to drop soon… the Squeakshow sofubi minis! Featuring the recurring Pashka alongside 2 versions of Lil Grizlli – all 3 of which previously saw releases in resin last year – these have been joined by another 2 soon-to-be-revealed characters, Chupacabra and Lil’ Jimmy Ken. Due to come cast in a squishy sofubi and fitted with a vintage-style squeaker similar to early Oozeball releases, we’ll be dying to get our hands on these little guys when they make their debut later in the year… Keep a close eye on Griz’s Instagram feed here for more news soon!

Splurrt’s Mishka Cyco Ape micro-run…

Mishka have teamed up with none other than Splurrt for their latest painted run of Cyco Ape sofubi! Designed by Lamour Supreme and sculpted by Atomic Vomit, the goofy-looking two-headed Kong has been produced in what appears to be a blue soft vinyl this time around, coming with layers of vintage-style metallic and flesh sprays with meticulous have brushed detailing. Presumably limited to a run of just 5 pieces (TBC), these will be touching down in the Splurrt store this Friday, May 20th for an undisclosed sum…

But that’s not all! Aside from current releases, Splurrt has teased images of yet another upcoming figure, the Shinjuku Demon! Inspired by one of the many beasts in Hideyuki Kikuchi’s Demon City Shinjuku, the crab-like figure is said to be small-mid size (we’re guessing around 4″), coming with articulation in the arms and waist. Pictured here as a finished clay prototype, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed the figure makes it into vinyl soon…

Adam Toylord of Slave x One is proud to reveal that his long-awaited collaboration with UnaffiliatedSJ – the mighty Yadokai – is now finally available to the general public for the very first time! Featuring the OG body from the original SxO Gero release, the 7″ tall figure has been treated to an all-new head and set of arms designed and sculpted by USJ. Making its debut in both unpainted black and GID soft vinyl, the first run of Yadokai can be found in strictly numbers on the SxO store right here for just $60 plus shipping… Here’s hoping we see a painted release soon!

Milk Boy Toys’ Kuma sofubi revealed…

The team behind Japanese retailer and gallery space Milkboy are proud to announce the arrival of their first ever sofubi, the as-yet-untitled kuma bear you see above! Whilst we have very little information to go on at present, it would appear from this recently posted image that the vintage-style teddy has been sculpted by none other than Kenth Toy Works, coming in at a mid-sized 4″-5″ tall (TBC) and featuring articulation in the arms, legs and head. Pictured here in an unpainted teal soft vinyl, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for word on the first release soon…

The multi-artist “Project Guano” blind-bag Mini Mockbat release…

With the help of 7 other like-minded artists, Eckotyper has joined forces with Paul Kaiju and Unbox Industries for a painted Mini Mockbat release dubbed “Project Guano”! Featuring a whopping total of 70 bats – 35 in red and 35 in black – 5 of each color have been handed out to a select bunch of artists; Nebulon5, Hellopike, Mr DLux, Topheroy, Michael Devera, Gatchabert and of course Eckotyper himself; each offering up their own unique combo of sprays and hand brushed detailing on the little guys. Having had continued success with their Vinyl Artist Gacha line over the past couple of years, the guys vet at Medicom Toy are proud to reveal that a seventh series of the multi-artist minis will be touching down next month! This time featuring the return of PicoPico’s “Gakky-Kun” in alternate colorways, th little guy havs been joined by all-new additions the “Good Luck Darumaboya” from Hariken (sculpted by TTToy), “Batesuto God” from Perfect Studioand “Baby Rangeron” from Koraters and T9G. Following a similar template to previous VAG releases, the set of 4  figures feature a stanard 2.5″ tall 2-part design that come in a selection of 5 randomly assorted colorways. Gorgoloid’s “Garamon” Garuma resin figure…

Originally released way back in December of last year, the Garuma resin figure from Gorgoloid returns this week in an all-new colorway! An ingenious mix of Ultra Q kaiju “Garamon” and a lucky Dharma doll, the stunning piece – inspired by the traditional Japanese toy paintings of Kyosen Kawasaki – has been hand sculpted by the artist at around 3″ tall, coming cast in a dyed resin and treated to Garamon’s classic metallic blue and flesh sprays. Previewed just a few days back, the first painted run of TAN‘s much anticipated follow-up to Mimi Monster – the hideous Pig Pig Man – is now up for grabs via e-mail lottery! Drawing inspiration across urban legend and neo-kaiju, the beautifully sculpted figure stands around the same height as Mimi at around 6″ tall, coming with a flabby pig torso and appendages, plus a human-faced head akin to Jinmenken.
