Adam Saul over at Cop A Squat Toys has just revealed that his Fumetsu sofubi is set to return this week in a stunning “Aurora Lust for Life” colorway! Heavily inspired by vintage toys such as Astro-Mu 5, the line features a total of 4 very different “trans-human” characters; Erewhon, Vinge, Neuman and Kurzweil; each coming with an ingenious removable torso that reveals a fifth “super computer” character named Allesh inside. Produced in a color-changing, Aurora glitter-infused vinyl and treated to contrasting orange/blue and blue/pink/gold sprays, each 8″ tall figure has been limited to just 5 pieces, coming packed with Fumetsu pin, koozie and letterpressed header card for $80 each. Celebrating Star Wars Day in style, artist CO.OC29 will be debuting the first figure from his Yokai Yu brand – the awesome Gamarah – in an incredible hand painted colorway inspired by none other than Jabba the Hut! Standing at a chunky 8″ tall and featuring 5 points of articulation, the beautfully sculpted amphibious kaiju has been treated to layers of lifelike green, brown, flesh and crimson sprays courtesy of artist BUG0061, coming complete with a chained worm omake painted to looked like the enslaved Princess Leia. New Lost Monkey, Roly Poly and Kodama sofubi from Kikkake…

The guys over at Kikkake Toy are set to make a welcome return this week with a trio of custom sofubi releases! First up, we have the “Where is Mothership” version of Lost Monkey Aaron. Taking on a very similar appearance to the previously released Iron Monkey, this new interpretation features a spacesuit body, clear dome helmet, plus a resin cast plug and cable accessory. Produced in what appears to be a brown soft vinyl, Aaron has been treated to a swathe of realistic flat and metallic sprays in a pallet of silvers and browns… Next, we have the return of Roly Poly the Bomb in all-new “Deer Ball” and “Deer Stars” editions. Featuring both ball and moon variants of the main Roly Poly body, both versions come with a resin cast deer head and antique stand in a beautiful hand painted finish… Last, but by no means least, we have the arrival of a new Kodama Parasite Animal! Daniel Yu x Unbox Industies soft vinyl Jiangshi Acolyte revealed…

Originally teased in digital form way back in December of last year, the upscaled version of Daniel Yu‘s ever-popular Jiangshi Acolyte will finally be seeing a release soon courtesy of Unbox Industries! Digitally scanned and blown up from the 3″ resin original – very much in the same way as Retroband’s MEATS – the hopping vampire has been treated to additional textures and detailing under Daniel’s watchful eye, with the finalised proto above standing a sizeable 8″ tall. Due to be heading into production very soon, you can be sure that once we have release details confirmed, you guys will be the first in the know…

Brandt Peters x RealxHead’s “Astro-Bat” Chaosman teased…

Following in the footsteps of both Paul Kaiju and Mutant Vinyl Hardcore, Circus Posterus’ Brandt Peters is the latest North American artist to team up with Real x Head for the release of his very own Chaosman figure! Whilst the above image is all we have to go on at present, it would appear that the figure – dubbed Astro-Bat – will be taking on a similar appearance to Brandt’s signature Skelve character and recently released Death Bat, albeit with the standard 9″ tall CM body. Keep a close eye on both Brandt and Real x Head‘s Instagram feeds for more info on this intriguing project soon!

The Mimi Monster sofubi from TAN (aka Zhang Sheng) is making a welcome return this week in its first ever painted run from fellow toy artist Creation777! Standing at around 6″ tall, the slimy cyclops features a simple 2-part design with articulation in the neck, this time coming cast in a red soft vinyl and treated to black/white/flesh sprays inspired by a classic (unnamed) 80’s doll from China that was said to represent “happy home life”. GEEK! at Shiryousei Expo 09…

The ever elusive GEEK! have just unveiled a trifecta of new figures they’ll have up for grabs at tomorrow’s Shiryousei Expo 09, each coming even bigger and more monstrous than the last! First up, we have the gruesome Android ROMEO. Designed and sculpted by sofubi first-timers Big Stone Trading Company, the beautifully realised piece stands at a modest 11″ tall, coming with articulation in the arms, legs and head. Produced in a brown soft vinyl, this first version has been treated to subtle metallic green and gold sprays reminiscent of cult 80’s toy line Sectaurs… Next, we have GEEK!’s first collaboration with sofubi heavyweight Gumtaro, the False Messiah. Taking on the appearance of an owl, this incredibly detailed kaiju plays host to a number of awesome design features, including our favourite, a crazy looking ornamental elephant belt! Standing at an impressive 13.75″, this debut “Birth” edition appears to have been cast in a black vinyl with layers of aqua, red, yellow and brown sprays… Last, but by no means least, we have the gargantuan Minotaur! The second collaboratively produced figure with Dream Rocket, this iconic beast from Greek mythology is GEEK!’s biggest figure to date (quite some feat if previous releases are to go by!), standing at an staggering 17.75″ tall. Produced in a milky soft vinyl and adorned with silver highlights over purple, yellow and black sprays, this “Helter Skelter” version comes complete with chains and battle axe accessory… All going on sale at the Nakano-based event tomorrow (5/3), expect to pay 10,000yen, 25,000yen and 30,000yen for each respectively. Here’s hoping we see follow-up versions of all 3 in the Medicom store soon!

Gory Hole have teamed up with Rampage Toys for the release of the first ever third-party painted run of Warui Zonbis! Limited to 10 sets featuring both SS Wolfgang (the Nazi werewolf) and Selwyn (the zombie baby!), the pair of Ma-Ba style finger puppets have been produced in a flesh-tone soft vinyl, coming with matching neo-camo and rubbed gradient sprays courtesy of Rampage’s Jon Malmstedt. Rampage Toys x Grumble Toys’ Super Tiny Chubby Tough sofubi prototype revealed…

Long-time toy buddies Rampage and Grumble Toy have just revealed an all-new project that’ll be making its way into sofubi soon… the tank riding Super Tiny Chubby Tough! Whilst information on the set is still forthcoming, it would appear from the wax protos pictured above that the micro-sized feline – designed and sculpted by GT – stands at around 2″ tall, featuring a 2-part design with legs that can be swapped out for the new RT tank. Currently in the final stages of prototyping, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed Chubby Tough makes his debut soon…
