Astro Zombies’ Superfestival 71 excluisve Skull Wing…

Funnyara over at legendary Japanese toy retailer Astro Zombies is proud to reveal that the highly sought after “Skull Wing” sofubi will return for Superfestival 71 this weekend in an all-new colorway! Standing at around 4.5″ tall and featuring articulation in the neck, shoulders and waist, the classic fight-style figure has been produced by Secret Base in what appears to be a double-poured, silver glitter-infused clear vinyl this time around, coming complete with simple masked sprays and logo decal detailing. Touching down at Sufes this coming Sunday, April 24th, pricing and edition size for the figure are still to be confirmed…

Siccaluna Koubo one-offs at Yamakichiya…

Japanese retailer Yamakichiya have teamed up with Siccaluna Koubo for the release of a whole slew of one-off  kaiju! Featuring the Henry F. Anderson-designed Gotanda, Kanda and Meguro, the trio of towering beasts have been treated to layers of sprays and brushed detailing courtesy of Siccaluna, each looking completely different from the last. Priced at an unbelievably cheap 8,000yen each – an absolute steal for a Siccaluna one-off – the wide selection of figures can currently be found residing in the Yamakichiya store right here

Skullmark’s “Skull Witch” Skullworld Warriors sofubi…

Originally seeing a soft release through Toy Underground way back in September of last year, the first figure in Skullmark‘s Skullworld Warriors line – Skull Witch – will be making her debut through Medicom Toy later this week! As with the previously released Galaxy Commanders, the series has its foot planted firmly in the world of vintage knock off action figures, this time around drawing inspiration from the classic Underworld Warriors of the 1980’s. Featuring a similar, albeit slightly chunkier body to the original 5.5″ figures, the upscaled series is set to include all 6 heads – Krampus, Cobraman, the Devil, Skull, Goblin and of course, the Witch – from the original line. Produced in a Japanese soft vinyl and treated to a paint app closely resembling the OG figure’s simple palette of white, black and green, Skull Witch will be touching down in the Medicom Toy store via preorder this Sunday, April 24th for just 9,504yen plus shipping…

Myth Toys’ “Monkey King” Instagram contest…

Elusive new sofubi producer Myth Toys are celebrating the upcoming debut of their Monkey King sofubi with a special Instagram contest this week! Whilst little is known about the figure (or Myth, if we’re honest!) at present, it appears to stand at around 6″ tall, coming complete with articulation in the arms, legs and head as well as a fully detachable staff. Takepico x Max Toy’s Koijara painted run at One-Up…

Takepico have teamed up with Max Toy Co‘s Mark Nagata for the latest painted run of Koijara sofubi! Designed and sculpted by PicoPico, the 3.5″ tall, 2-part koi kaiju has been produced in what appears to be a blue soft vinyl this time around, coming complete with a rainbow of Monster Kolor sprays finished with a thick hi-gloss. Going on sale in the One-Up store this coming Saturday, April 23rd at 11am Japan time, Koijara will set you back just 4,200yen plus shipping…

Akashik Records’ Bear Death God preorder…

Sadly just missing out on funding through Kickstarter late last year, the debut figure from Akashik Records’ Soft Vinyl Toys (ARSVT) – “Bear Death God” – has thankfully returned as part of an open preorder release! Designed and sculpted by California-based artist Dave Linares, the 9″ tall beast draws inspiration from right across sofubi and neo kaiju, featuring a beautifully textured, 2-headed design akin to Skull Head Butt’s Demon Cyclops figure, complete with 4 points of articulation, plus both death scythe and battle axe accessories. Produced in a bright green soft vinyl for its first outing, the figure is currently available with 2 different purchasing options; a standard, featuring all of the above for $60, and a super-limited preorder exclusive, featuring an additional “Movieland Cyclops” for an extra $10. Kotobukiman’s officially licensed Human Centipede sticker set for Yamakichya…

Yep, yet more news from Kotobukiman this week! Whilst not strictly toy-related, we just had to share the Japanese artist’s latest collaboration with Geek Life/Yamakichya… a round of officially licensed “Human Centipede” Bikkuri-style stickers! Created to coincide with their “I’m so sorry” HC instant curry (yeah, you read that right!), the series consists of 4 different holographic stickers that feature the infamous Dr Heiter and his fateful subjects Jenny, Lindsay and Katsuro, all illustrated by Kotobuki in his unmistakable style. Currently available to overseas customers right here as part of a pack-in with the “I’m so sorry” curry, the first 180 customers will also receive a special variant version of the Doctor too…

Toy Art Gallery have teamed up with none other than Candie Bolton for the release of their latest sofubi gacha series, the absolutely adorable OH MY! YOKAI: Night Parade! Featuring a total of 5 different yokai-inspired minis designed by Candie, each comes in at around 2″ tall with an uncapped, finger puppet style base. Produced in an unpainted blood-red vinyl for this first outing, the Night Parade will be touching down in the TAG store this coming Friday, April 22nd at Noon Pacific for $10 each or just $40 for the set…

Continuing the Cadaver Kid’s 5th Anniversary celebrations this year, creator Splurrt has just unveiled something his legion of fans have been crying out for- a full-size jumbo version! Whilst the above image is all we have to go on at present, we can confirm that this perfectly upscaled rendition stands at a chunky 9″ tall, coming complete with articulation now in the legs as well as arms and waist. Currently entering the final stages of prototyping ahead of vinyl production later this year, we wait with baited breath for details of the first release!

Fresh from our look at the Superfestival 71 exclusive Texas Butcher, Uncut‘s Kotobuki Man has wasted no time in getting the next figure ready in his ongoing Splatter Retsuden/Terror Treehouse series… taking on the murderous Michael Myers from cult classic Halloween! Whilst the above image is all we have to go on at present, it would appear that the masked maniac will fit in with previous releases perfectly, featuring a similar Bukkuriman-inspired design that comes in at an oversized 2.5″ tall. Set to make its debut alongside the previously features “Yellow” Texas Butcher at Sufes this Sunday, April 24th, we’ll be keeping both fingers and toes crossed for a general release soon after…

Medicom Toy have secured the rights to produce toys from Sunrise’s classic 1972 anime Hazedon aka Chief Joker! Featuring a trip of characters from the show’s relatively short run – lead Hazedon, mermaid Sheeran and puffer fish Puyang – each mini-sized figure has been produced in a Japanese soft vinyl (complete with vintage-style squeaker!) and treated to sprays faithful to the characters’ original interpretations. Going on sale via open preorder through the Medicom store right here starting Sunday, April 24th, the Hazedon trio will set you back just 12,960yen plus shipping…

Hot on the heals of Kella and Lekka’s reveal just a couple weeks back, artist Kearjun is proud to present yet another figure to join his expanding line-up of vinyl monsters, Fuckin’ Rock! Heavily inspired by NagNagNag’s Boryoku Genjin, the heavily textured, rock-like piece features a similar 7 points of articulation, coming in-scale with Kearjun’s previous releases at around 7″ tall. Not one to ever rest on his laurels, Yowohei Kaneko of Mirock Toy has just unveiled yet another attachment for the ever-growing Dr Mirock series! Featuring a similar totemic design as previous releases, the beautifully sculpted mid-section piece comes with a gargoyle-like creature that has a version of the Hontai mini sitting neatly its head. Due to be produced in sofubi soon, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that this new sculpt will be making it’s way into the regular Dr Mirock rotation over the next couple of months…

Science Patrol’s Superfestival 71 exclusives…

Japan-based sofubi producer Science Patrol are proud to reveal that they’ve prepared 2 all-new figures for release just in time for Superfestival 71 this weekend! First up, we have the as-yet-untitled dungeon creep pictured on the left. Standing little over 3″ tall and featuring articulation at the waist, this crystal-headed beast has been treated to purple and silver sprays over a flesh-based red rub, coming complete with a collar fitted with a real metal chain… Next, we have the latest SP collaboration with W.H.L.T, Lord of Limbs! Essentially a horned helmet with a tentacle parasite body, this D&D inspired piece has been treated to silver sprays, brown to black fades and gold painted detailing. To be joined by a full-sized humanoid body version soon, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed Lord of Limbs and his unnamed buddy will make it to the online SP store soon after Sufes…

Kotobuki Man’s Superfestival 71 exclusive Texas Butcher keshi…

Kotobuki Man is proud to announce that his “Texas Butcher” Splatter Retsuden keshi is set to make a return in an all-new colorway exclusive to Superfestival 71! The fifth figure to feature in the cult horror-themed mini series, the butcher – instantly recognisable as Leatherface from A Texas Chainsaw Massacre – had been hand sculpted by Kotobuki at around 2.5″ tall, this time coming in a soft keshi-like yellow resin for the release. Going on sale at the Uncut booth this Sunday, April 24th, here’s hoping any leftovers make it online soon after… Looking for more Kotobuki?! Lulubell Toys’ Bo Bo sofubi revealed…

Grody Shogun and Lulubell Toys have teamed up with PicoPico for the release of their latest collaboratively produced figure, the super-fun Bo Bo! Clearly drawing inspiration from cult manga AoT’s Colossal Titan, this goofy looking, skinless kaiju had been sculpted by PicoPico at around 13.5″ tall, featuring articulation in both the arms and waist. Produced by Grody Shogun in a life-like marbled flesh and red soft vinyl with minimal hand painted detailing, this debut edition of Bo Bo will be available through the Lulubell store from Sunday, April 24th for $175, whilst an exclusive Japan-only version will see a release on the same day at Superfestival 71

Electric Monarchy’s “GID” Bukkake revealed…

Teased in prototype form way back in January, we’re very proud to finally reveal the first version of Electric Monarchy‘s “Bukkake” keshi in-full today! Taking its name from a sex act we’ll once again refrain from describing here, the gloopy, gross-out mini figure has been sculpted by Macsorro based on a design from EM’s Fint and Ralph Niese, coming in just over 2″ tall and almost the same wide. Produced by our very own Tru:Tek in a keshi-style rubber, this first version had been cast in a rather fitting (albeit totally disgusting!) off-white GID that closely resembles a certain human secretion… Urgh!
