Dropping his debut solo sofubi “Throgaa” via preorder a couple of weeks back, Acolorfulmonster has just unveiled a couple of revisions to the release that should help sweeten the deal to anyone sitting on the fence! Designed and sculpted by Acolorfulmonster, the super-creepy demonic man fish comes in at a whopping 8.5″ from nose to tail, featuring articulation in both the waist and neck. Currently undergoing soft vinyl production courtesy of Lulubell Toys over in Japan, Throgaa is being cast in a marble GID/blue vinyl for this first release, with the first 15 orders also receiving a solid GID blank to boot. Takepico’s Keronga sofubi returns this weekend in it’s second tree frog inspired colorway! Sculpted by Pico Pico and produced by One-Up, the mini-sized frog monster stands at around 3.3″ tall, featuring articulation in the neck. Produced in a vivid green soft vinyl and adorned with tropical yellow, black and dark green sprays with hand brushed detailing, the “Tree Frog Phase 2” Keron comes bagged and headed for 2,600yen ($23) plus shipping. Shane Haddy over at Hints and Spices will be making a welcome return next week with a whole heap of new sofubi in his online store! Dubbed “Kickstart”, the huge sale is set to feature all of the Hints and Spices back catalog, including new and previously unreleased versions of Suity-chan, Kowaila, Waniphant, and the adorable Cooee-chan mash-up. Originally unveiled in prototype form at SDCC ’15, the first round of Mondo‘s officially licensed Madball re-imaginings are now finally up for grabs! Featuring 3 of James Groman’s original characters from 1986 – Slobulus, Horn Head and Skull Face – each have been brought bang up to date by the guys at Ramirez Studios, coming in at a slightly bigger 4″ wide and produced in a super-detailed soft vinyl. Javier Jimenez’ “Gure-Pu” Baby Wananekos…

Javier Jimenez has just revealed that his Baby Wananeko sofubi is set to return this weekend in an all-new “Gure-Pu” colorway! Designed by Javier and sculpted by Christina Ravenna, the 3″ tall, finger puppet-style kitties have been treated to a deep grape-colored base (grape being the rough translation for gure-pu in Japanese), complete with off-white sprays and hand brushed detailing. Originally debuting in blank form way back at SDCC last summer, the Evil Lord of Destruction known as Skeletor is set to receive his first painted release in sofubi this week! Produced by Super7 in conjunction with Gargamel, the officially MOTU licensed piece has been styled to look like a classic 1980’s Japanese soft vinyl figure, standing at around 5″ tall and coming with a removable “Havoc Staff” sceptre plus articulation in both arms and head. Produced in a dark blue vinyl, this first painted run has been treated to charcoal grey, yellow and grey sprays with red detailing to mimic the obscure and elusive Leo Skeletor, a variant of the original toy released in India. Chris Grondin aka Cryptodude has teamed up with music collective Tobacco to transform the Black Moth Super Rainbow mascot into a fully fledged, Madballs-style toy! Designed and sculpted by Chris based on the bubble gum blowing rainbow (albeit with the artist’s signature “siamese face” twist), the approximately 3″ wide ball has been produced in a similar soft latex foam as the original 80’s gross-out balls, coming with layers of vivid sprays and hand brushed detailing. Based on a recurring character seen in many of English’s paintings, the sinister-looking fast food anti-mascot has been realised in 3D by the talented Chop over at Monster Farm, standing at well over 13″ tall and coming with an impressive 8 points of articulation. Produced in what appears to be a tan-colored vinyl with camo-style black, green and brown sprays, each figure comes complete with a hand cast resin “fast food” gun, matching jumbo burger accessory and a “Gluten You Craven” tote bag (not pictured). With demand for the first release being so high, Kikkake‘s “Sally” Iron Monkey No.2 sofubi has thankfully returned this week for all those collectors who missed out! Drawing inspiration from classic vintage wind-up toys, the beautifully sculpted figure stands at around 7″ tall with 5 points of articulation, coming cast in a flesh tone vinyl with layers of orange, red, blue and gold sprays with brown lowlights. Joe Merril of Splurrt/Secretoy fame has just revealed that his highly sought after collaborative figure with Mutant Vinyl Hardcore, the mighty Bone Usir, will be making a comeback this weekend! Standing at a lofty 10″ tall, the figure – featuring Joe’s skeletal Usir head on top of the standard MVH DX body – has been produced in an eye-catching glitter gold/bronze soft vinyl, with 2 different versions up for grabs; a fully painted run, plus a blank “set” that comes packed with a matching OG Usir.
