Blackbook Toy have joined forces with David Flores and the Hell Fire Canyon Club for the resurrection of the much-loved Deathshead Smurk sofubi in a handful of new colorways! Standing at around 7″ tall, the non-articulated figure – an ingenious mash-up of Flores’ recurring skull design and a smurf – has been produced in a clear soft vinyl this time around, coming in your choice of either “Rose” (copper teeth), “Fang” (gold teeth), “Open Face” (silver teeth) or the fully painted (both externally and internally) “Diamond Cut”. Going on sale via the Blackbook store this coming Friday, February 19th at Midnight Japan time, pricing for the clear Smurks is still to be confirmed…

Bob Conge aka Plaseebo comes with his latest custom creation, the CATerpillar kaiju! A one-of-a-kind mash-up featuring a Kaiju Coup “Warui Neko” cat head on Yamomark’s “Cosmegira” body, the towering 11″ tall figure has been treated to layers of pastel Monster Kolor sprays, coming complete with inset yellow swirled glass eyes, translucent hand cast resin teeth and an internal motion activated color-changing LED unit mounted in the head. Going on sale in the Plaseebo store this coming Friday, February 19th, pricing for CATerpillar is still to be confirmed…

The “Clear Half Galaxy” Uamou sofubi mini…

Originally debuting at the Domani: Tomorrow Exhibition, the “Clear Half Galaxy” Uamou sofubi mini has thankfully made a return this week for a special online release! Standing at around 3″ tall, the adorable 2-part figure has been produced in a crystal clear soft vinyl, coming with a gorgeous split-gold, purple and green “galaxy” paint app courtesy of master painter Goto-san. Available in strictly limited quantities, the “Clear Half Galaxy” Uamou can currently be found right here for just 3,000yen ($26) plus shipping…

Super7’s M.U.S.C.L.E MOTU Trash Cans revealed…

Joining the previously featured MOTU ReAction Figures, Super7 unveiled yet another release they have planned for their ongoing Masters of the Universe takeover… the M.U.S.C.L.E MOTU Trash Can packs! Featuring all 12 previously released sculpts, the authentically sculpted 2″ figures have been produced in a plethora of different colored PVC that mimic many original M.U.S.C.L.E colorways. Coming packed in a shrink wrapped clear plastic trash can complete with an embossed Skeletor head on the lid, we expect to see these roll out through all major art toy retailers very soon… But that’s not all. Joining the Trash Can packs, Super7 have also revealed that they’ll be extending the M.U.S.C.L.E universe even further with a number of other licenses throughout the year. Whilst specific details are still thin on the ground at present, Capcom’s classic platformer Megaman is the first to be confirmed so far- a choice we’re sure will fit the keshi-style platform perfectly… Expect more news as we get it!

Monstock’s “International Market” Enzankos…

In a rare move for the largely Japan-only sofubi producer, the legendary Monstock have just unveiled 2 versions of Enzanko in an “International Market” exclusive colorway! Available with both “OG” and hoofed “Sozanko” arms, the hulking beasts have been cast in a subtle clear black soft vinyl infused with red, gold and green glitter, both coming complete with matt fluorescent green and yellow sprays with dark green highlights. With no firm release details at present (although we’re assuming they’ll be released through KaijumonsteR at some point), we suggest keeping a close eye on the Monstock blog here for more news on the “International Market” Enzankos soon…

The Restore x Pop Soda Painting Contest…

Originally announced here last week, we can now reveal full entry details for Restore‘s monumental painting contest! Giving sofubi customisers a choice of 4 different figures to work with; Neo Japan, Iron Meat and Pop Soda collaborations Jungle Fever Darts and Fog; all have been cast in either blank flesh or white soft vinyl with matching accessories where applicable. Open to anyone who purchases and paints up one of the allotted figures before the July 10th, 2016 deadline, one lucky winner will receive one of the most unreal prizes we’ve seen to date- a chance at having your face sculpted on an original Neo Japan figure!

It’s been a long while since we last saw an official Death DX release, so it came with great pleasure today to find that Mutant Vinyl Hardcore has hauled the little guy out of the vaults just in time to break some hearts this Valentine’s Day! Marking his return in 2 blind-bagged colorways on ivory soft vinyl, we have “French Kiss”, coming with a swathe of hot pink, metallic blue and aqua sprays, and “Heart Breaker”, in metallic blue, hot pink and aqua. The Tarantulas’ “Aurora” Nibblers revealed…

Following a long hiatus, The Tarantulas are set to return next week with an all-new Nibbler release! Inspired by vintage Star Wars sound chip tags, the 5″ tall figures have been produced in a color-changing “Aurora” sofubi this time around, complete with masked clear pink, blue and silver sprays that mimic the tags’ holographic panels. Going on sale in limited quantities through an as-yet-unknown store this coming Friday, February 19th, be sure to keep a close eye on The Tarantulas IG feed here for the full lowdown soon…

Super7’s fully painted MOTU ReAction figures revealed…

Originally debuting at SDCC ’15 in prototype form, Super7‘s officially licensed 3.75″ “Masters of the Universe” ReAction figures will finally see their “OG” standard painted release soon! Closely resembling the 1970’s era action figures, the initial line-up features 4 of MOTU’s most iconic charcaters, each with their own individual weapon – He-Man and the Power Sword, Skeletor and his Havoc Staff, Mer-Man and his sword and Beastman with his whip. Produced in PVC using colors close to Mattel’s original 5.5″ line, each fully articulated figure comes blister packed with individual, hand painted card art from Jason Edmiston. Recently unveiled at the 2016 New York Toy fair, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed on a full retail release for these very soon…

Mokos’ Fancy Fluffy keshi overseas sale…

Japanese artist Chihiro Takigawa over at Mokos is proud to announce that his “Fancy Fluffy” keshi is now finally available to overseas customers! Featuring a total of 5 different figures from series 1, 2 and 3 – “Moko Moko”, “Hodo Hodo”, “Ninja Mokumaru”, plus the all-new “Mecha Moku” (top) and  “Muki Muki” – the adorable little sheep stand at around 1″-2.5″ tall, coming cast in a keshi-style soft resin with a selection of either classic blue, orange, green, brown and black colorways. Medicom Toy’s Vinyl Artist Gacha Series 6 revealed…

Medicom Toy‘s Vinyl Artist Gacha series continues to expand with the announcement of the sixth series in little over 12 months! Featuring a rather different line-up than past releases, Series 6 once again consists of 4 figures, this time not just spanning the world of sofubi, but music and anime too. Joining a miniature rendition of Anraku Ansaku’s adorable Tanuki no Pokopon, we have Space Shower’s Hanuman (prototyped by series regular Mirock Toy, hip hop band Group Inou’s Dolphin-kun mascot (prototyped by Cosmo Liquid) and Wonder Masamitsu (prototyped by PicoPico), taken from Maruo Suehiro’s “girl Camellia”, an anime coming to Japanese theatres this May. Following a similar template to previous VAG releases, the set of 4 new figures feature a standard 2.5″ tall 2-part design that come in a selection of 5 randomly assorted colorways. Touching down at Village Vangard alongside 26 other Japan-based retailers throughout March for a super-cheap 463yen ($4) each, we can expect worldwide releases to roll out over the following months…

Science Patrol have revealed that their Slime Adjudicator sofubi will be returning today in an all-new “Miscarried Idol” colorway! Standing at little over 4″ tall, the open capped, finger puppet-style figure appears to have been produced in a flesh toned soft vinyl this time around, coming with bloody red and silver sprays, a purple dolls eye insert, plus clumps of black hand threaded hair. First seen at Wonderfestival Winter 2016 last weekend, BLObPUS‘ latest painted runs are now available to purchase via open preorder! First up, we have the latest collaboration with Yamomark, the [BLObPUS Paint Ver.] “GID” Baku Kaiju Owada! Produced in BLObPUS’ signature glow-in-the-dark vinyl, the 6″ tall mammoth – complete with creepy portrait sculpt on the back – has been treated to a swathe of neon, metallic and silver sprays over a detail hugging black rub.
