Slave One x Awesome Toy’s “Dog Breed”Jinmenken run announced…

With the appeal of Awesome Toy‘s “Jinmenken” sofubi showing no signs of lagging just yet, it comes with great pleasure to find that Slave One is hard at work on a series of one-off customs based on the super creepy human-face dog! Whilst we have little info to go on at present, it would appear that the limited run of 5 figures will each be based on a real-life dog breed, the first to be revealed coming in the form of the Dalmatian you see above… Making there way into the Slave One store at some point in late-February, early-March, look out for a full reveal of all 5 figures soon…

The “Unpainted Blue” Cyco Ape sofubi from Mishka/Ghost Cave…

Greg Rivera over at Mishka is proud to reveal that the Ghost Cave‘s Cyco Ape sofubi will be returning for a special “blank” release this month! Designed by Lamour Supreme and sculpted by Atomic Vomit, the dual-headed primate stands at a lofty 13″ tall, coming with articulation in arms, feet and necks. Produced in an unpainted light blue soft vinyl and packed with a header card designed by Johnny Ryan (TBC), the Cyco Ape will presumably go on sale through the Ghost Cave store for around $150 soon… Keep track of Greg’s Instagram feed here for the full lowdown!

Splurrt’s “Kronos” test shot revealed…

First seen in prototype form way back in September of last year, the follow-up to Splurrt/Secretoy’s Cinema Monster – Kronos – has finally been revealed as a soft vinyl test shot! As with the original, the second CM beast has once again been inspired by the golden age of monster flicks, this time taking on Ray Harry Hausen’s iconic sea creature the “Kraken” from 1981 epic Clash of the Titans. Standing at around the same height of the first Cinema Monster at 10″ tall, the figure – whilst featuring a familiar head sculpt and textures – ditches the Kraken’s multiple tails in favour of chunky, four-armed design more in-keeping with the look of the series. Pictured here in a gorgeous yellow soft vinyl, here’s hoping we see the Kraken debut over the next couple of months…

Shirahama Toy’s “Tri-Color” Kumon sofubi…

Originally intended for release at Superfestival a couple of years back, the “Tri-Color” Kumon sofubi from Shirahama Toy will finally see the light of day this weekend! Standing at around 4.5″ tall and featuring articulation in the arms and neck, the creepy crawly kaiju has been produced in a gorgeous controlled 3-way marbled vinyl, 3 different variations will be available; GID/Black/Red, GID/Black/Blue and GID/Black/Pink. Going on sale through the Shirahama Toy store today (1/16) at 5pm Eastern time, the Tri-Color Kumons come blind-packed for just 4,500yen ($38) each plus shipping… Want to be the first in the know for future Shirahama releases? MVH x RXH’s “Sludge Fighter” prototype revealed…

With the Mutant Vinyl Hardcore namesake originally starting out life as a blog dedicated to RealxHead during the early days of Skull Brain, sole owner and creator Rich Montanari Jr has finally been given the chance to fulfill a lifelong dream with the release of his very own Adult-sized RXH figure! Dubbed “Sludge Fighter”, the new MVH attachments hark back to Rich’s earlier yokai-inspired figures, featuring demon skull-infused arms as well as a Sludge Demon-esque double head with “Death DX” reverse. Currently at the mold making stage of production, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for the first Sludge Fighter release over the next couple of months…

The “Stardust Baron” sofubi from Awesome Toy…

In memory of the late, great David Bowie, the guys over at Awesome Toy have been hard at work on 3 different Fake Baron micro-runs based on the legendary artist’s alter ego, Ziggy Stardust. Standing at around 9″ tall and featuring 4 points of articulation, the pachi super bot has been produced in a mix of GID and flesh soft vinyl this time around, each super-limited colorway has been treated to a number of sprayed and hand brushed detailing inspired by Stardust’s most iconic costumes. The “Gyogura” sofubi mini from Gumtaro…

Sofubi producers Gumtaro have just revealed their first new figure for 2016, the beautiful space fish known simply as “Gyogura”! Taking on a stunning tribal aesthetic similar to PicoPico’s recent works, the meticulously patterned and textured beast comes in at a mini-sized 3.3″ tall, featuring just one point of articulation in the neck. Debuting in the pictured blank lime-colored vinyl you see above, Gyogura will be available from the Gumtaro online store from Monday, January 25th for just 2,000yen ($17) plus shipping…

Restore’s “Collectlister” Neo Japan sofubi prototype unveiled…

Following a week of agonising teasers on Instagram, the guys over at RESTORE are proud to finally unveil their latest sofubi in-full, the mighty “Collectlister”! Said to be the first “enemy” character in the ongoing Neo Japan saga, the exquisitely detailed figure has been designed and sculpted by none other than Abe Junnokai, coming in at around the same size as previous releases at 8″ tall and featuring a number of cool design features- the most interesting coming in the form of that gorgeous – presumably resin cast – goat diety chest insert. With a due date set for “Spring-Summer 2016”, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed we hear more on this beautifully realised oni demon soon…

Max Toy Co’s “Tiger Boss” sofubi revealed…

Mark Nagata has just unveiled the latest figure from esteemed sofubi producer Max Toy Co, the adorable Tiger Boss! Conceived by Nagata, designed by Javier Jimenez and sculpted by Max Toy newcomer Cristina Ravenna, the unlikely feline salary man stands at around 3.5″ tall, coming with one point of articulation in the neck. Debuting in the pictured yellow, pink and black sprays over white vinyl at Tokyo’s Dai Kaiju Salon bar this weekend, we’re told to expect Tiger Boss’ first online release within the next couple of weeks…

The Obsessed Panda x Awesome Toy “Jinmenken” micro-run…

Not one to rest on his laurels, Michael Devera aka Obsessed Panda is quickly following up his Mimi Monster release this week with a painted micro-run of toy-of-the-moment, the “Jinmenken” from Awesome Toy! Featuring both “Human Face” and “Skull” designs this time around, the 8″ tall, 2-part homage to one of Japan’s creepiest urban legends appears to have been produced in a blue soft vinyl this time around, coming with a plethora of neon pink/purple, metallic teal and black sprays courtesy of Devera. Limited to 5 in each design, the “Obsessed Panda” Jinmenken will be touching down in the OPCustoms store this coming Saturday, January 16th at 10am Pacific, priced at just $100 each plus shipping…

Shamrock Arrow’s “Eroimu Essaimu” keshi prototype revealed…

Shamrock Arrow have revealed that they’ll be unleashing yet another licensed toy soon, this time taking on anime “Eroimu Essaimu, Eroimu Essaimu” (エロイム エッサイム エロイム) in keshi-form! Whilst we won’t pretend to know too much about the cartoon apart from it’s roots in spells and magic, it’s hard to deny that the sculpt pictured above will be a must-have for any contemporary mini figure collectors out there. Likely to make it’s debut at Wonderfestival Winter 2016 next month as part of the event’s famed one day licensing, here’s hoping we get a full reveal, plus a little more info on the figure soon…

Having quickly sold out upon release last month, the Sansiedo exclusive “Book Uamou” returns in an all-new “Silver” colorway! Standing at around 3″ tall, the horned creature has once again been produced in a crystal clear soft vinyl, this time coming with an ingenious masked book motif in the chest that reveals a printed book page nestled inside. Available in silver (with a rarer gold/blue chase), the little guys can currently be found at Sanseido’s “Ichinoichi” select shop (in the Uamou corner!) at their Tokyo-based location. The “Snowed In” and “One-Off” Konningu sofubi from Ummikko…

It may still be cold and dark outside, but Monkey3000 over at Ummikko is looking to brighten up your day this weekend with a special “Snowed In” Koningu release! Standing at around 5.5″ tall and featuring 3 points of articulation, the classically styled Kong has been cast in a snowy white soft vinyl this time around, coming with a number of metallic blue and red sprays. Going on sale in the Ummikko store this coming Sunday, January 17th at 1am CEST, the “Snowed In” Koningu will set you back just $50 plus shipping… But that’s not all! Having done some spring cleaning in the studio, Monkey3000 has unearthed a number of one-offs that he’ll be dropping in the store at the same time! Johan Ulrich over at Death Cat Toys is proud to reveal that his Elder Demons: Series 1 sofubi is set to return for a Japan-only painted run soon! Whilst little is known about the release at present, it would appear the white-cast minis with blue/red sprays, brown rubs and bloody splatters will be sold collaboratively through sticker producer Kuchiyubin and vocalist Teddy Francois, coming complete with a number of soon-to-be-revealed extras from the pair… Keep track of all 3 artists Instagram feeds for more details soon!

Toy Art Gallery are proud to reveal that they’ve secured a number of new sofubi from legendary Japanese artist, Touma!
