Wasting no time since the release of Crystal 13 just a couple of months back, Kotobuki Man over at Uncut/Terror Treehouse is proud to present the latest figure in his Splatter Retsuden keshi series… Dream Master Nightmare Kun! Inspired by cult horror flick Nightmare on Elm Street’s Freddy Krueger, the Bikkuriman-style keshi appears to be the same size as the previously released figures, coming in at a super-chunky 2.5″ tall. Set to make its debut at Superfestival 70 this coming Sunday, January 10th, a choice of flesh, green, blue and pink colorways will be up for grabs, each coming packed in a candy-style box featuring Kotobuki Man’s unmistakable chibi art… Here’s hoping for an international release soon after!

The return of Galaxy People’s “Skreel” sofubi…

Brian Bunting of Galaxy People-fame has just revealed that his “Skreel” sofubi will be making a comeback just in time for Superfestival 70 this weekend! Standing at around 4.5″ tall and featuring 3 points of articulation, the galaxy bat appears to have been produced in a blue soft vinyl this time around, coming with a mix of vintage-style metallic red, gold and black sprays and fitted with a pair of hand cut vinyl wings. Going on sale at the Tokyo-based event this coming Sunday, January 10th, a limited supply have been held back for online sales through the Galaxy People store at 11pm Japan time…

Taken from Rampage Toys x Skull Head Butt’s huge collaboration from last year, the 8″ beast features Plaseebo‘s Gnaw head sculpt on top of SHB’s standard “X” body. Jointly produced by Rampage Toys’ Jon Malmtsedt and Marmit, the figure has been cast in a crystal clear soft vinyl this time around, coming with layers of Monster Kolor sprays, glass inset eyes and internal motion activated color changing LED units that illuminate the colored clear gel and glow in the dark innards. KaijuMonsteR has revealed that he will once again be gracing the European toy cons with his presence this year, bringing along a whole heap of exclusive kaiju and sofubi… the first to be revealed coming in the form of the gorgeous one-off Dorols and Madalas you see above! Created by Siccaluna Koubou, the monstrous pair have been cast up in a GID soft vinyl, both coming in a selection of 5 unique, hand painted finishes by the artist. Going on sale alongside a whole host of other exclusives at ToyCon UK and the Dutch Comic Con later this year, be sure to stay tuned for more similar reveals as we get closer to both events…

The coming of Electric Monarchy…

Designer Fabian Huebner aka Fint and illustrator Ralph Niese have joined forces to form an all-new toy brand for 2016, the extremely promising Electric Monarchy! Set to play host to a number of different releases throughout the year, the first to be announced come in the form of the “Bukkake”, a keshi mini figure sculpted by Macsorro for a project dubbed RR Series 1, and the pictured action figure-esque “King Stereo” sofubi from Niese. Whilst information on both is still scarce at present, with a due date set for early 2016, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for the full lowdown from the guys soon…

Nerdone and Mee Mie will be teaming up with another undisclosed artist for a special “Gomlins” group keshi release at Superfestival 70 later this month! Whilst there’s little to go on at present, it would appear that the drop will feature 3 different figures – Nerdone’s “Steregon”, Mee Mie’s “Lemonjah” and a soon to be revealed “Crablow” – each coming cast in a thermal color-changing blue rubber and housed in a Boglins-themed window box… Look out for more details on the release soon!

The “Gilt Ver” Piemaro from Mirock Toy x PLM…

Having already seen a number of releases at the end of last year, Mirock Toy and PLM‘s adorable Piemaro clown returns for what has to be a first in the world of sofubi… a gold “Gilt” version! Coming in at around 3.75″ tall, the little guy has been cast in a Japanese soft vinyl and meticulously covered in real gold leaf (97.66% pure gold, 1.35% sterling silver and 0.97% pure copper, to be precise!) for the release. Japanese artist Chihiro Takigawa over at Mokos is proud to reveal that his “Fancy Fluffy” keshi series is set to return with an all-new figure soon! Whilst little is known about the release at present, it would appear that the sculpt will be substantially larger than previous releases, featuring a hilarious “pumped-up” sheep design reminiscent of Triclops’ “Final Boss” Bastard figure. Longneck’s latest “Maijin” sofubi revealed…

Still proving hugely popular in Japan and just as elusive  as ever to obtain in the West, Longneck/Cosmo Knight Alpha‘s Maijin series is set to receive a new entrant soon in the form of the fine looking chap you see above! Whilst the original Yusei Maijin featured a design inspired by Ooze-It knockoff, Cosmos Alien A, this new iteration appears to be inspired by the vintage gacha series’ Alien B, featuring a similar “fish” shaped head seen in the recent Medicom Toy re-release (check it here). Revealed in prototype form at the recent Comiket convention in Tokyo, we’ll be keeping our fingers that we see more of the figure very soon…
