Next, we have the “Marbled” Cestodas from Miscreation Toys. Again, standing at an intimidating 14″ tall, these humungous figures have been jointly produced by Lulubell Toys and Toy Art Gallery, coming in a strictly limited selection of one-off two-tone marbled vinyl. Priced at $250 each, these will be up for grabs alongside Cyco at the Mishka booth (#110) starting this Thursday, October 8th…

Whilst Bob Conge aka Plaseebo unfortunately wont be attending NYCC ’15 this week, he’s decided to celebrate the legendary con with a special custom “King Kong” Nightgamer! A one-of-a-kind mash-up featuring Plaseebo’s Nightgamer head with the body of Siccaluna Koubo’s Ape body, the lumbering 9″ tall beast has been treated to a swathe of neon Monster Kolor sprays and brushwork, coming complete with red inset glass eyes, an internal, motion-activated LED unit, plus the pièce de résistance – a miniature bi-plane that can be gripped by the beast to recreate the iconic Kong end scene! Coming signed and dated by the artist, the King Kong Nightgamer will be touching down in the Plaseebo store for an undisclosed sum this coming Sunday, October 11th…

MAN-E-NEWS// The TTF ’15 exclusive “Mr Death” sofubi from Rockin’ Jelly Bean x Blackdots…

Originally teased in prototype form here back in July, the first figure in Rockin’ Jelly Bean‘s “Freaky Monster Village” series – Dr Death – will be making an exclusive debut at Taipei Toy Festival ’15 this weekend! Inspired, sadly not by RJB’s signature erotic psychobilly art, but instead by hotrod culture and the early sofubi scene of the mid-late 90’s, the stunning, cigar smoking skull was designed and sculpted by RESTORE’s Abe Junnosuke, featuring articulation in the waist and arms as well as fully-removable cain and eyeball (read: gearshift knob!). Produced by Blackdots in an unpainted off-white soft vinyl for its first outing, Dr Death will be up for grabs alongside a number of other items at the Blackdots TTF booth (A20) on Saturday, October 9th, coming in at just NTD3000 ($92). Here’s hoping for both overseas and fully painted releases soon!

Wasting no time since D-Lux’s release just last week, Kearjun is proud to reveal yet more artist micro-runs utilising their ever popular YouZha vinyl figure! First up, we have the “Mecha” edition from none other than Todd Robertson aka Mechavirus. Produced in a flesh vinyl, these 8″ tall figures have been treated to Todd’s signature metallic Monster Kolor sprays, each coming complete with unique blood splatters and rubs plus those all-important found object “mecha” embellishments in the back of the head. Limited to an edition of 6 pieces, these guys will be touching down in the Mechavirus store at some point later this week…

Next, we have the “Tarman” YouZhas from Monsterfoot Creations. Inspired by Night of the Living Dead’s infamous trioxin-ated zombie, these guys have been lovingly painted in a grimy mix of black and tan sprays with contrasting purple and red highlights. Limited to an edition of just 3 pieces, expect these in the Monsterfoot Creations store later this week for an undisclosed sum… Keep an eye on both Mechavirus‘ and Monsterfoot‘s Instagram feeds for full release details soon!

The guys over at Cojica Toys have just unleashed a whole slew of new dino sofubi online! Featuring an all-new run of Neclong in gorgeous metallic blue and orange sprays over flesh vinyl for 6,000yen ($50) and a “Monochrome Emissions” Monoclon in green vinyl with silver, black, yellow and red sprays for 4,300yen ($36), these fully painted editions are joined by blank “Tyranbos” in yellow, red and smoke red, a “Soprano” in light blue and a “Neclong” in yellow – all priced at 5,000yen ($42) – as well as a run of one-off mixed part Tyranbos and Neclongs for the special price of just 3,000yen ($25). Currently up for grabs via lottery sales through the Cojica site, interested parties are going to need to fill in the dedicated entry form here for a chance at picking up any of the figures listed above…

Whilst Super7 have been doing an impeccable job of bringing back Nakajima’s Astro-Mu 5 minis this year, the onus has fallen upon Medicom Toy to reproduce the classic 70’s sofubi line’s full size figures, with the first 2 – good guy “Ultra Earth” and iconic baddie “Devil Bado” – seeing a release later this month! Near-identical to the original 10″ tall soft vinyl figures, the pair have been produced in a classic trans yellow vinyl complete with authentic, vintage-style sprays and hand brushed detailing Packed with all the design features you’d expect from a fully-fledged Astro-Mu 5 remake, personal coups for us include glitter pipe cleaner filled limbs, removable gloves and boots, back/chest button controlled “yes/no” head articulation, mountable pulleys for string aided flight and, in Devil Bado’s case, a removable brain helmet. Touching down in the Medicom Toy store via open preorder starting Saturday, October 24th, Ultra Earth and Devil Bado will set you back just 15,984yen ($133) each plus shipping…

Having had success with their officially licensed “Zombo” action figure earlier in the year, the guys behind Unbox Industries have once again called upon the talents of Retroband, this time for the release of all-new soft vinyl creation, Meats! A loving tribute to both classic zombie and body horror flicks, the decaying, deformed creep appears to stand at a round 12″ tall, featuring articulation in the arms, legs and neck as well as coming with both cleaver and meat hook accessories. Revealed at Mondo Con over the weekend in an unpainted grey vinyl, we’re told to expect the first release as soon as DCon next month… Look out for more news as soon as we hear anything!

The highly talented Hellopike has just been revealed as the latest artist to take on Toysbian‘s popular “San Jiao Mo” sofubi! Standing at around 9″ tall and featuring 5 points of articulation, the unique, pyramid-headed mound of muscle has been produced in what appears to be a glow-in-the-dark soft vinyl this time around, coming with a swathe of gorgeous metallic blue, purple, gold and black sprays courtesy of Hellopike. Limited to an edition of just 5 pieces this time around, expect the figures in the Hellopike store at some point later this week for around $125 plus shipping. Following months of painstaking development, Adam Saul over at Cop A Squat Toys has just unveiled his latest sofubi in-full… presenting the awesome Fumetsu! Heavily inspired by vintage toys such as Astro-Mu 5 – a series we’ll be taking a closer look at later on today – the line is set to feature a total of 4 “trans-human” characters; Vinge, Neuman, Kurzwell and Erewhon, each coming with an ingenious removable torso that reveals a fifth “super computer” character named Allesh that is said to control the quartet from within. Pictured here in a gorgeous magenta test shot vinyl, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that Fumetsu make they’re debut before the year is out…

Japan-based sofubi producer Brian Bunting has just revealed that he will be expanding his Galaxy People line with its very first vehicle soon… presenting the Cephalopod! Created for use with the standard 4.5″ tall GP figures, the stunning squid-like contraption appears to come in 2 parts, featuring a compatible 1″ hole in the top that can be fitted with the series’ various head sculpts. Presumably making its way into soft vinyl over the coming months, expect more details on the Cephalopod soon…

Hot on the heels of the recent “Gourdon” treasure box release, Justin Jewett of Hateball fame is proud to reveal that a fresh batch of Zinewolf keshi have just touched down online! Originally releasing as part of the “Zinkeshi” release a few months back, the little guy has been reduced, prototyped and produced by our very own Tru:Tek at the Disart ToyLabs, coming in around 1/5th of the size at 1.5″ tall. Cast in a blind selection of green, red and flesh colored rubber, the Zinewolf keshi can be picked up right here for just $10 a piece. Supplies are super-limited, so be sure to head on over ASAP to avoid disappointment!

Kevin Nam over at Inami Toyland is proud to reveal that his Robo Top resin figures will be making an appearance at NYCC ’15 next week in a myplasticheart exclusive “Ghost” colorway! Coming in at around 2″ tall by 2″ wide, the fully working, hand sculpted spinning top features an ingenious “rock, paper, scissors” style mechanic, with each of the robot’s hands (clenched, 2 fingers up and 3 fingers up) representing the game’s 3 choices. Kicking things off as they mean to go on, elusive new sofubi producer Myth Toys have been debuting their first ever figure this weekend with a huge custom show at the 3rd International Hong Kong Tattoo Convention! Whilst little is known about the as-yet-untitled piece, it would appear that the figure draws inspiration from both Japanese mythology and tattoos, featuring a traditional body-suit lion cloth, geta clogs and a skull-faced samurai head. Customised by a number of different artists for the show, including BLObPUS, Kenth Toy Works and Lee Kuo (the above was actually created by tattoo artist Gabe Shum as a personal gift for David Beckham), we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that the figure receives a general release soon. Continuing the tradition of previous years, Clutter Magazine are proud to reveal that they’ve teamed up with RESTORE to offer up a special NYCC ’15 exclusive release… presenting the “Magical” Iron Meat SFB! Said to be the friend of the previously released “Neo Japan”, the lumbering cyborg – originally realised in garage kit form – has been reimagined by RESTORE’s Abe Junnokai, standing at little over 8″, coming with 8 points of articulation and featuring clear cutaway sections in the stomach and on the head as well as a fully removable “rocket” arm. These “Bedtime Bears” combine the Bedtime Bunnie silhouette with a custom designed bear head created by Andrea.
