Having recently debuted at Wonderfestival Summer 2015, KtoKto‘s Kaibutsu (Monster) Series 3 returns for it’s first official online release! Inspired by a mix of both classic monster designs and 80s Japanese horror toys – including the iconic MaBa Zombies – this third wave once again features a total of 3 different designs; Frankenstein’s monster, Dracula and a companion tomb stone, each sculpted in the classic finger puppet style and produced in an uncapped soft vinyl. Cast in an unpainted flesh-tone this time around, the little guys come packed with a header for a wallet friendly 3,500yen ($30) plus shipping. Teased right here just a couple of days back, we can now reveal the first fully painted “Hag DX” figure from Rampage Toys in-full! Featuring the body of Mutant Vinyl Hardcore‘s standard DX body, the 8″ figure come complete with Rampage’s new Hag-Ball for a head, both coming cast in a glorious clear vinyl and treated to a plethora of candy red and purple sprays that look good enough to eat. Splurrt has revealed that he’ll be teaming up with long time collaborators FOE Gallery for a special “Mystery Bag” run of Cadaver sofubi! Set to feature both “Twin” and “Walking” head variants, the gruesome figures appear to have been cast in a selection of flesh, GID blue and classic GID, coming complete with a number of different paint apps including the recently seen “Split” for Soft Vinyl Mayhem. Originally debuting back in June, the second wave of “Dissolution of Smoke” sofubi from Algangu has finally received an all-new colorway! Featuring a total of 3 designs inspired by traditional yokai and 1970’s candy shop playing cards, the figures – a gourd holding monk, a castle and a cycloptic hat – stand a little shorter than the first release at around 2.5″-3″ each, coming complete with a finger puppet-style open base design. To mark 10 glorious years in the art toy industry, Bob Conge aka Plaseebo has revealed that he’ll be offering up a number of one-off custom sets over the next few months, this first to come in the form of the incredible “Mummy” you see above! Cast in a never-before-offered GID white vinyl with a blue grey wash, the 7″ tall figure has been fitted with red glass inset eyes and an internal motion activated color-changing LED, coming complete with a companion 9″ tall sarcophagus treated to gold leaf over a sandstone-style base. Continuing the recent resurgence of his first ever vinyl figure, Rich Montanari Jr of Mutant Vinyl Hardcore has revealed that he’ll have a fresh batch of marbled Sludge Demons touching down in his store this week! Sittiing at around 4″ tall and coming with one point of articulation, the classic figure has been produced in a gorgeous swirl of GID, baby blue and glitter infused clear vinyl courtesy of Grody Shogun and Shirahama Toy. Due to touch down in the MVH store at some point this Tuesday, 15th September, if the previous “Jet Black” release is anything to go by, we can expect to see the little guys packed in a net bag with two MVH stickers, one button and a metal rimmed paper MVH hanging tag for around $65 each plus shipping. Our good friend Lee Burbridge over at Bigmantoys is proud to reveal that the third wave of “Day of the Slug” minis have just touched down online! Heavily inspired by Tim Clarke’s Mini Boglins, the 1″-1.5″ tall rubber figures have been jointly designed and sculpted by Lee and guest artist Jimmy Rommel of Ironhaus Pro. Releasing across 4 super-collectible waves of 4 figures a year – that’s a total of 16 in 2015! – this round features the pictured Skin Slug and Gore Slug from Jimmy alongside Miner Disaster and Sir Slythe from Lee. Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys has revealed that he’ll be bringing along a whole heap of clear vinyl goodies to Superfestival 69 later this month for a special release that he’s dubbed Clearfes! Whilst information is still thin on the ground at present, reveals so far have included the ever popular Kaibutsuya “Kesagake” bear as well as the long-awaited debut of Jon’s collaboration with Mutant Vinyl Hardcore, the Hag DX. Whilst we’re still unsure as to whether these and the other soon to be revealed figures will come blank or painted – we’re hoping for both! – you can be sure that as soon as we find out, you guys will be the first to receive the full lowdown… Talking of the Hag DX, those unable to attend the con next weekend (9/27) will have a chance of picking up the piece as part of an online release in early October. Expect more details soon!

Whilst we rather impatiently wait for the release of Chris Grondin‘s latest collaboration with Scumbags & Superstars – the “Melting Man” Slimeball – the king of gross-out foam balls is proud to reveal another figure that’ll more than fill the gap for the time being… the incredible Belial Ball! Inspired by cult horror flick Basket Case’s rather unfortunate siamese twin, the beautifully realised piece has been hand sculpted by Chris in-scale with the original Madballs at around 3″ wide, coming cast in an authentic squishy foam and treated to layers of subtle earthy sprays. Hot on the heals of last weekend’s lottery sale, Takahiro Komuro aka TKom has just revealed a special one-off custom “Gamaotoko” sofubi painted up by none other than Shigeru Arai of NagNagNag! Standing at a chunky 8.5″ tall and featuring articulation in the head, arms and legs, the biological beast has been treated to countless layers of multi-colored sprays, coming complete with Shig’s signature labour-intensive pointillist brush work. Whilst little is known about the fate of the figure at present, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that it’s a test-paint for a limited run soon. Originally teased right here at the beginning of July, the second round of Fake Spectreman figures from Awesome Toy have just been revealed in final test-pull form! With the ongoing series based on pachi (bootleg) renditions of P Productions’ classic tokusatsu character Spectreman, these 2 new versions have been inspired by a little known Brazilian comic, featuring altogether more angular and stylised looks than previous renditions of the super-cyborg. Currently at the paint sampling stage ahead of release through Medicom Toy soon, be sure to stay tuned for the full lowdown vet the next few weeks…
