Fresh from their debut release just a couple of weeks back, the guys behind the Hong Kong-based Play Studio are proud to reveal that they’ve readied an exclusive version of their “First Kaiju” sofubi just in time for STGCC this weekend! Standing at around 4.5″ tall and featuring 3 points of articulation, the classically-styled kaiju has once again been produced in a flesh-tone vinyl, this time coming with a selection of red, metallic green and silver sprays. Going on sale at the Blackseed booth this Saturday, September 12th for around $45 each, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that any left over make it to Play’s online store soon after…

The mighty Skinner is the latest artist to take on Leecifer‘s “Picklebaby” sofubi, coming with a special “Cursed” micro-run later this week! Standing at around 8″ tall and featuring articulation in the neck and shoulders, the hideous looking creatures appear to have been cast in a black soft vinyl this time around, coming with layers of putrid green VColor sprays, rubs and hand painted detailing. Limited to just 8 pieces – each coming packed with a cursed twig necklace and custom header – Skinner’s Picklebabies will be touching down in the Critical Hit store this Friday, September 11th at Noon Pacific for just $100 each plus shipping… Head over to Skinner’s blog to check the extensive backstory on these creepy chaps!

Originally teased here a couple of weeks back, we can now reveal the debut keshi line from Radioactive Uppercut – Freaks, Finks and Spazzes – will be seeing its first release later this week! Drawing inspiration from the likes of Ed Roth’s Rat Fink, gross-out toys such as the Madballs and cult figures the Ma-Ba Zombies, the initial line-up is set to feature a total of 3 very different miscreants – Franken Corpse, Coffin Licker and Spider Brains – all coming sculpted by the legendary David Arshawsky of Turtle Milk Studios at a super-chunky 3″ tall and nearly 2″ wide. Produced in a “flesh tone” keshi-style rubber courtesy of our very own Tru:Tek at the Disart ToyLabs, the (not so!) little guys will be touching down in the Radioactive Uppercut store via preorder this coming Thursday, September 10th at 8pm Eastern time for a 2 week period. Coming poly bagged with custom header, single figures have been priced at $30, whilst the full set of 3 will be available for the reduced sum of just $87… Flesh not your thing? Singapore-based artist Daniel Yu has unveiled his latest – and quite possibly greatest – figure just in time for STGCC this weekend, proudly presenting the Lunar Creep! An ingenious blend of cosmonaut and zombie, the intricately sculpted mini stands at just 3″ tall, coming cast up in 4 separate pieces for a wealth of mixed-part colorways. Pictured here in a “test shot” white and orange resin, be sure to keep a close eye on Daniel’s Instagram feed here for a full reveal of the STGCC exclusive colorway over the next few days… Here’s hoping for both fully painted and overseas releases soon!

Sadly marking the end of an era for the legendary Toy Art Gallery, the rather apt final farewell to their physical shop space, the “Famous Last Words” group show, is now available to view and purchase online. Featuring a whole slew of custom toys, micro runs and original art from some of the galleries long-time collaborators and exhibitors, personal highlights include the jaw-dropping “Black Death” Meat one-off from Restore, the “Tendril” Cestoda from Miscreation Toys, plus various one-off Iron Monkeys from Kikkake. Whilst we still have a little way to go until the recently revealed “Uncle Marshmallow” sees his first release, Blackseed‘s Kenneth Tang is proud to reveal that their “Monster Craftsman” series will be making it’s debut at STGCC this weekend! Initially featuring a total of 3 different creatures – the Cocoa Monster, Hermit Monster and Corm Monster – the trio have been sculpted by Tang in a similarly textured style to T9G, ranging in size from 4.5″-6″ tall each. Produced in a clear soft vinyl for their first outing, the figures have been given a number of different c-thru paint apps, each coming fitted with unique dolls eye inserts and packed with a custom header card. Going on sale at the Blackseed booth this Saturday, September 12th for an undisclosed sum, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for an online release – most likely through Angel Abby – soon…

After over 2 years in development, we can finally reveal that the first 3 figures from the highly anticipated “Strange Monsters” mini line will finally be up for grabs courtesy of Little Rubber Guys next week! Featuring the incredible “Tug-O-War” from Zectron, “Shogu-Nasty” from Bigmantoys and “Necrolossus” from Ironhaus Pro, the trio of hand sculpted figures stand at around 3″ of rotocast soft vinyl. Following months on the drawing board, the latest figure from Uky Daydreamer, “Nekomimi”, has finally been revealed as a finished wax prototype ahead of soft vinyl production soon! Whilst featuring an altogether more life-like aesthetic than previous Uky figures, the feline protagonist does manage to retain some of the subtle “transforming” design qualities from past releases, including interchangeable face and mask heads, a fully poseable sabre, plus a body that can be turned upside-down to create a mini transporter. Due to make it’s debut in soft vinyl over the next few weeks – presumably courtesy of Jungle – you can be sure that as soon as we have release information confirmed, you guys will be the first in the know…

With Australia’s first ever dedicated sofubi show “Soft Vinyl Mayhem” opening it’s doors at Laced Brisbane in just a few days time, we’ve decided to give you guys a look at some of the amazing toys that organisers Bad Teeth Comics and Derphead have managed to secure. Aside from the previously posted “Fu Manchooze” and “Frank” Oozeballs from our very own Tru:Tek, personal highlights so far include MVH’s all-new DC13 in test paint form, Splurrt’s “Split” Cadaver Twins, a one-off flesh Hyouga King from Elegab, and new custom Kappa-Borgs from Comet Debris and Chanmen. Opening it’s doors at 7pm this Friday, September 11th for one night only, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that any of the show’s leftovers make it online soon after…

Dream Rocket Factory has just revealed their latest officially licensed kaiju, taking on Mitsuteru Yokoyama’s classic manga, Giant Robo! Featuring the title’s lead character alongside antagonist “Emperor Guillotine”, the beautifully realised pair have been sculpted by Handsome Taro based on the series’ TV show iterations, standing at around 9.5″ tall and featuring 5 points of articulation each. A giant-sized rendition of Flores’ signature Deaths Head Mickey, the 9″ tall piece – 18″ if it wasn’t bent over! – has been produced by BlackBook in an unpainted, matt-finished “army green” Japanese soft vinyl for this second release. Sculptural artist Takahiro Komuro aka TKom is proud to reveal that his “Gamaotoko” sofubi has returned this weekend for it’s second colorway! Said to be made up of biological waste (i.e. crap!), the scummy looking beast stands at a chunky 8.5″ tall, coming complete with articulation in the head, arms and legs. Produced in a brown soft vinyl and treated to a number of slimey black, orange, green and purple sprays, the second edition of Gamaotoko has been limited to just 20 pieces priced at 18,800yen ($158) each plus shipping. Jeremi Rimel over at Miscreation Toys has just unexpectedly released an all-new unpainted colorway of the Iron Monster sofubi in his store! Inspired by Dr Zorka’s robot in the 1939 scifi/ horror B-movie serial “The Phantom Creeps”, the towering 15″ figure was designed by Rimel, digitally sculpted by iamscumbag and produced in Japan courtesy of Grody Shogun. Dubbed the “Pretty in Pink” edition, the beast has been cast in a retina-melting hot pink soft vinyl this time around, coming in at $150 plus shipping.
