Featuring a whole slew of kit-bashed MOTU parts – namely the heads of the series’ most memorable heroes and foes – the hulking figure features an originally sculpted, kaiju-style body that loosely takes on the appearance of the MIMP Jotun Troll. Based on the musicians’ recurring dolphin mascot – usually seen on stage during their live performances – the little guy has been sculpted in a vintage finger puppet style, standing at around 2.5″ tall and featuring an open, uncapped base. Having seen a few limited releases since their debut back in February, Jungle‘s “Demon Castle of Gle-Jun” sofubi minis are set to return this weekend as a Wonderfestival Summer ’15 exclusive! Featuring a total of 6 different figures from the Neclos Fortress-inspired series – including designs from Jungle regulars Uky Daydreamer and Skulltula – the release has been split up into 2 different sets, both coming beautifully hand sprayed in a selection of muted, earthy tones. Going on sale at Jungle’s WF booth this coming Sunday, July 26th for around 5,000yen ($40) a set, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that the little guys will finally see their online debut soon…

The guys over at Awesome Toy are proud to present something a little different to their current roster of super robots, kaiju and retro-themed figures… introducing the Awesome TV! Inspired by the Indie Toy scene’s extensive selection of “platform” toys – figures that can be customised – the vintage-styled TV’s unique take on the idea is set to offer sofubi painters, designer toy customisers and even illustrators more scope for creativity than ever before. Featuring an ingenious, fully-adaptable design, the deceptively simple soft vinyl cube has been fitted with a removable front “screen” panel, meaning that not only can the outer shell be painted, re-sculpted or mashed-up with other figures – a TV head instantly springs to mind! – but it can also be used to display prints, drawings, photos or even various items inside- the possibilities for different “programs” and “channels” are limitless! Aside from the DIY/custom aspect, the Awesome TV will also be used in conjunction with future Awesome Toy releases, including a number of planned artist collaborations, exclusive versions, plus integration with previous AT figures. Based on the reoccurring character seen in many of English’s paintings, the sinister-looking fast food anti-mascot has been realised in 3D by the talented Chop over at Monster Farm, standing at well over 13″ tall and coming with an impressive 8 points of articulation. Teased here at the end of last month, we can now finally reveal the latest Zombie Army keshi from FTWR Toy in-full! Completely different from our original predictions, the incredible figure actually features a clever two-headed design – named “MukkiMuki” and “Bakkibaki” respectively – coming complete with a huge chest hole that houses a gas canister, plus a fully detachable machete. Once again realised by the sculptor of legendary mini figure series Neclos Fortress, the 2.5″ tall piece has been produced in keshi-style soft rubber, coming in an initial selection of flesh tone, pink, green and the pictured light blue. Packed with an all-new Bikkuriman-style sticker, the latest Zombie Army keshi will be making it’s debut at Wonderfestival Summer ’15 this coming Sunday, priced at just 3,000yen ($24) each… Here’s hoping we see an overseas sale soon!

Daniel Smith aka turboPISTOLA comes with something a little different to his current line-up of minis, introducing the “Mania Ball” rubber ball! Riffing on the current resurgence of Madball-style figures, the piece was rather uniquely sculpted with no original planning whatsoever. Daniel kindly explains a little about the project… “To rage against my own apprehension toward sculpting, I picked up a lump of clay with only the desire to make it my bitch, no plan or design other than mania in mind. Alas, the Mania Ball was born…” Coming in at an authentically scaled 3.5″ wide, the fun-looking figure has been cast up in a bouncy, glittery yellow rubber for it’s first outing, with painted resin versions (pictured below sans-paint) planned soon after.
