MAN-E-NEWS// The “Man in Red” Françios le Grand sofubi from Lulubell Toys…

It’s been a while in coming, but the guys over at Lulubell Toys are proud to reveal that the first painted colorway of their monumental Françios le Grand” sofubi – the “Man in Red” edition – is now up for grabs online! Standing at just under 16″ tall, the Grody Shogun-designed, Jetture Handsome Taro-sculpted figure has been produced in a black vinyl with red, brown and green sprays, coming complete with removable head cap, brain, chains and padlock accessories. Priced at $185 plus shipping, the “Man in Red” Françios will be available for preorder right here until Saturday, July 25th…

MAN-E-NEWS// The Devils Head Productions x Micfits “Alavaka” release announced…

Devils Head Productions have teamed up with the punk rock underground experience know as The Micfits to give you an awesome Disney themed treat… presenting the Maleficent tribute release! Featuring DHP’s Alavaka sofubi painted in metallic tones to mimic the classic villain from the 1959 animated feature “Sleeping Beauty”, the release is also set to include a variant colorway based the evil black raven “Diablo” who is Maleficent’s confidante and assistant in the film. To be joined by a set of two 5 x 7 inch prints featuring a Maleficent themed Micfits character (including an evil chase), the “Maleficent” Alavakas will be making a simultaneous appearance in both the DHP and Micfits stores this coming Saturday, July 25th for just $70 each plus shipping. Keep an eye on the DHP Instagram feed for full-figure reveals later in the week!

MAN-E-NEWS// The officially licensed “Ultraman” vinyl figure from Playtoy x Unbox Industries…

The guys over at Unbox Industries have joined forces with up and coming toy producers Playtoy for an officially licensed, soft vinyl rendition of Tsuburaya’s Ultraman! Inspired by Bullmark’s classic chunky aesthetic, the iconic tokustsu character has been 3D sculpted by Unbox’s digital team, standing at just under 10″ tall and coming with a removable mask and “transformation device” accessory. Created as part of Ultraman’s on going 50th Anniversary celebrations, the figure is set for release through Playtoy at some point in the near future… Here’s hoping a few are held back for an online release through Unbox soon!

Following in the footsteps of Zollmen’s Zofbies, Restore Created are proud to announce their latest mini series, Are You F***ing Zombie?! Consisting of 5 figures designed and sculpted by Restore’s Junnosuke Abe , the little guys stand at just under 3″ tall each. Presumably debuting in the unpainted purple vinyl you see above, the series will be making its first appearance at Wonderfestival Summer ’15 this Sunday, July 26th, going on sale blind bag-style for just 500yen ($4) each. Fingers crossed we see an international release through Lulubell Toys soon after!

Having had continued success with their various keshi figures over the past year or so, the guys behind MeeMie are proud to reveal that they’ve secured a one-day license for the release of their debut self-produced sofubi, the adorable TV-kun! Taken from famed Manga artist Shigeru Mizuki’s extensive cast of youkai-inspired creatures, the boy – looking like something out of a kawaii take on The Ring – stands at around 3″ tall, coming cast in a GID vinyl with minimal orange and white sprays. Going on sale at MeeMie’s Wonderfestival Summer ’15 booth (4-12-1) this coming Sunday, July 26th, TV-kun has been priced at just 4,000yen ($32)…

MAN-E-NEWS// The one-off custom “Gergle” Autopsy Babies from Mechavirus…

Continuing his recent onslaught of custom drops, Todd Robertson aka Mechavirus has taken on a round of Miscreation Toys‘ “Gergle” Autopsy Baby sofubi for yet another online release later this week! Produced in what appears to be a bright blue soft vinyl, the 9″ tall figures have each been lavished with layers of Monster Kolor sprays and hand painted detailing, each coming complete with a number of unique “mecha” enhancements. Limited to an edition of just 3 pieces, the Mechavirus Gergles will be available from the artist’s store this Friday, July 24th for just $200 each plus shipping…

MAN-E-NEWS// New Plaseebo “Night Gamer” customs from Gorgoloid…

Plaseebo continues his ongoing team up with Gorgoloid‘s Barry Williams, proudly presenting a trifecta of “Night Gamer” one-off customs from the artist! First up, we have the awesome “Hawaiian Dino Gamer”. A 6″ tall mash-up of Plaseebo’s Night Gamer, an M1 Gorugosu head and a pair of resin cast hands, the beast has been treated to a number of classic Hawaiian-style sprays in orange, teal, silver and black… Next, we have the “Cotton Candy Night Gamer”. Standing at around 7″ tall, the soft vinyl figure has been decked out in soft pink and purple sprays, coming complete with resin hands and custom taxidermy eyes… Last, but by no means least, we have the impressive “Aurora Belly Night Gamer” (pictured middle). A mash-up utilising a Night Gamer head and a GID M1 Gorugosu body, the figure comes fitted with red glass eye inserts plus a number of motion activated LED units… Priced at $350, $400 and $700 respectively, the latest round of Gorgoloid Night Gamers will be touching down in the Plaseebo store this coming Friday, July 24th…

Cliff and Sean – the guys behind legendary resin casting studio Monstrehero – are proud to reveal that they’ll be making a long-awaited return later on today with a whole heap of new goodies for their online store! Whilst details are still thin on the ground at present, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that the pictured “Scaryglow” Finger5 Monstre Ape sofubi will be joined by a number of other resin figures including the guys’ latest creation, Prototype V. With no release details revealed at present, we suggest keeping an eye on both Cliff and Sean‘s Instagram feeds for the full lowdown within the next few hours…

MAN-E-NEWS// The Wonderfestival Summer ’15 exclusive “Ace Robo” and “Kappa Kid” sofubi from Comet Debris…

Koji Harmon over at Comet Debris is set to bring a ton of exclusive figures to Wonderfestival Summer ’15 this coming weekend, the first to be revealed coming in the form of these gorgeous Ace Robos and Kappa Kids! Produced in a clear purple vinyl and treated to minimal masked black sprays and internal glitter pipe cleaners, the vintage-styled Ace Robo will set you back 5,000yen ($40), whilst the clear green Kappa Kid with green, white and black sprays can be yours for just 2,500yen ($20). Going on sale at the event this coming Sunday, July 26th alongside a slew of other soon-to-be-revealed figures, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that any left over pieces will be making their way to the Comet Debris online store soon after…

Quickly becoming the go-to place for all things Ed Roth, BlackBook Toy have secured yet another round of Dune‘s awesome Rat Fink sofubi! Up for grabs in 3 different colorways this time around – black sprays on red vinyl, purple and green sprays on mint vinyl and, our favourite, blue and yellow sprays on clear vinyl – the trio stand at around 8″ tall each, coming with articulation in both the feet and tail. MAN-E-NEWS// Louie Chavez’ Nuke Beach “Gross Out Mini Mutations” announced…

Wasting no time since the release of his first Nuke Beach mini figures “Fukushiman” and “Chum Bucket” last week, Louie Chavez aka Slimetime is proud to announce the arrival of an all-new sub series, the Gross Out Mini Mutations! Standing at around a third of the size of the standard figures at 1″ tall, these little guys will – starting with the super-gross angler fish you see above – offer a more affordable, pocket sized alternative to the main series, hopefully coming in the same hand painted finish complete with a number of add ons and accessories. Look out for more details on the little guys soon, and be sure to head over to the Nuke Beach store and adopt one of the first wave of figures if you haven’t already!

MAN-E-NEWS// DRWG’s Bikkuriman-inspired “Secret Chief” keshi sculpt teased…

The guys behind new UK-based outfit DRWG have just unveiled a work in progress image of the first figure in their debut line of keshi, the Secret Chiefs! First seen in companion publication “Secret Chiefs Zine: Vol. 1″, the series is set to feature a total of 3 Bikkuriman-inspired designs, the first coming in the form of the club wielding demon you see above. Coming in at around 2” tall, the hand sculpted figure is due to come cast in a slew of classic keshi colors by our very own Tru:Tek soon. Interested in finding out more about the project? Debuting to huge success at myplasticheart back in April, the “Robo Top” resin spinning top from Inami Toyland‘s Kevin Nam returns for a special summertime release! Coming in at around 2″ tall by 2″ wide, the fully working, hand sculpted spinning top features an ingenious “rock, paper, scissors” style mechanic, with each of the robot’s hands (clenched, 2 fingers up and 3 fingers up) representing the game’s 3 choices. Produced by Kevin in 2 different colorways for this release, an unpainted “Lemon” and “Lime”, both have been limited to an edition of just 10 pieces. Coming poly-bagged with an admission ticket-style header card, the latest round of Robo Tops will be the first figures to feature in the new Inami Toyland store, touching down on Thursday, July 23rd at 9pm Eastern time for just $15 each plus shipping. MAN-E-NEWS// Scumbags and Superstars’ “Slimey Siamese” Slimeball lottery…

Previously teased here just a couple of weeks back, the first figure from apparel brand Scumbags and Superstars‘ Slimeball series – the “Slimey Siamese” – is now finally up for grabs via e-mail lottery! Based on an original character design from longtime S&S collaborator Sexual Youkai, the suitably gross-looking ball had been hand sculpted by artist Chris Grondin at around 3″ wide, coming cast in an authentic latex foam similar to the original Madballs and layered with a ton of sprays and brushed detailing. Limited to a run of under 10 pieces – each coming in their very own unique colorway – the “Slimey Siamese” Slimeballs come in at just $100 each plus shipping. Having had continued success with their “Karnov” keshi last year, Newtervision are proud to reveal that they’ve secured yet another one-day license for Wonderfestival Summer ’15, taking on Sunsoft’s cult scrolling action game “Ikki” (Riot)! Based on lead protagonist “Gonbi”, the little guy has been faithfully recreated in the classic keshi style, standing at around 2.5″ tall and coming complete with his signature bambo kendo stick and emakimono (Japanese scroll). Debuting at the Paralyzing Toyz WF booth (5-28-02) next Sunday, July 26th in the standard flesh-tone colorway, Gonbi is likely to set you back around 3,000yen ($24)…

Todd Robertson aka Mechavirus has just revealed that he’ll have a pair of one-off custom Max Toy “Eyezon” figures up for grabs this week! Standing at around 9″ tall and featuring articulation in the legs, arms and waist, the pair have been produced in a black soft vinyl, coming in a rich tapestry of unique Monster Kolor sprays and fitted with both a chained resin drill accessory and “mecha” chest section. Coming signed and dated, the duo will be touching down in the Mechavirus store alongside a whole host of other goodies this Friday, July 17th at Noon Eastern for $350 each plus shipping…

Japanese lifestyle brand Punk Drunkers have teamed up with Goccodo for an exclusive version of his highly sought after Kiaidakun sofubi! Featuring the figures’ standard vintage-styled body, this latest version ditches both the original and “Boomy” heads for one inspired by Punk Drunkers’ signature “Guy” mascot. Produced in what appears to be a black soft vinyl with simple masked white and gold sprays, the “Guy” Kiaidakun will be making its debut at Punk Drunkers’ Wonderfestival Summer ’15 booth next Sunday, July 26th for an undisclosed sum… Here’s hoping that it’s not the last we see of this awesome new head sculpt!

Jon Malmstedt of Rampage Toys will be descending upon Wonderfestival Summer ’15 next weekend with a whole load of original sofubi, custom one-offs and painted runs, the latest to be revealed coming in the form of this gorgeous Kaibutsuya Kesagake! Standing at a lofty 10.5″ tall and featuring 4 points of articulation, the menacing grizzly has been produced in a bright orange soft vinyl for the release, coming complete with a number of metallic teal, yellow and red sprays similar to Rampage’s recent “Dark Side Hunter-X” release. Up for grabs at the Paralyzing Toyz WF booth (5-28-02) on Sunday, July 26th (price TBC), an extremely limited supply are due to be held back for an online lottery release at some point in the near future. Having seen extremely limited runs in unpainted black and white soft vinyl, BlackBook Toy‘s latest collaboration with Ron English and Popaganda – Evil Mc – is finally set to receive its first (semi) painted coloway just in time for Wonderfestival Summer ’15 next week! Based on the reoccurring character seen in many of English’s paintings, the sinister-looking fast food anti-mascot has been realised in 3D by the talented Chop over at Monster Farm, standing at well over 13″ tall and coming with an impressive 8 points of articulation. Produced in a gold glitter-infused vinyl with masked red sprays for the release – complete with detachable fast food gun and jumbo burger accessory – the figure will be making an appearance at BlackBook Toy’s WF booth next Sunday, July 26th for an undisclosed sum… Here’s hoping a few are held back for an online sale soon after!

Joining the previously teased “Evil Hand”, Unbox Industries are proud to reveal that their ever popular “Bad Brain” figure is also set for a “Gummi” release soon! Originally seeing the light of day as a fully-fledged vinyl figure in October last year, the Nickelodeon-esque design has been 3D sculpted and then reduced by Unbox’s digital team, coming in at a considerably smaller sub 1″ tall. Due to be produced alongside the Evil Hand in Unbox’s signature “Gummi” rubber soon, expect a debut release for both figures around Halloween time…
