MAN-E-NEWS// Algangu’s “Dissolution of Smoke: Vol. 2” sofubi revealed…

With the original “Dissolution of Smoke” sofubi proving to be a huge success (check it here), creator Algangu has wasted no time in getting to work on a second wave of characters! Featuring a total of 3 all-new designs inspired by traditional yokai and 1970’s candy shop playing cards, the finger puppet-style figures – a gourd holding monk, a castle and a cycloptic hat – stand a little shorter than the first release at around 2.5″-3″ each. Pictured above in finished test shot form, Dissolution of Smoke: Vol. 2 is expected to drop very soon… Look out for full release details over the coming weeks!

MAN-E-NEWS// The Design Fiesta 41 exclusive Mixed-Part Gnaw-X sofubi from Rampage Toys…

Hot on the heels of the “Glow Version” Kesagake posted earlier in the week, Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys has just revealed another run of figures he’ll have up for grabs at Design Fiesta 41 this weekend, the Mixed-Part Gnaw-X’s! Taken from Rampage Toys x Skull Head Butt’s recent monster collaboration, the 8.5″ beast features Plaseebo‘s Gnaw head sculpt on top of SHB’s standard “X” body. Jointly produced by Rampage Toys’ Jon Malmtsedt and Marmit, the figure has been cast in a selection of bright green, dark green, red, milky, orange and GID vinyl, coming complete with a detail-hugging black wash and randomly assorted dolls eye inserts. Limited to an edition of just 4 pieces, the Mixed-Part Gnaw-X’s will be up for grabs at Rampage’s DF booth (C-356) starting Saturday, May 16th (price TBC)… Look out for more Design Fiesta reveals from Rampage tomorrow!

MAN-E-NEWS// New “Chi-Chi”, “Nei” and “Nenne” sofubi from Cherri Polly…

Originally revealed in test-shot form way back in January, the new “Chi-Chi” and “Nei” heads for Cherri Polly‘s adorable Nenne sofubi are finally making their debut this weekend as part of a huge online sale! Joined by limited runs of Nenne in “Brown Tabby”, “Tiger” and “Gold/Silver” colorways, the pair’s first release sees them in a mix of yellow and light brown soft vinyl, complete with a number of subtle spray accents and hand painted detailing. But that’s not all… As well as the standard editions, both Chi-Chi and Nei join Nenne for another round of “Evil” one-offs! Sprayed in a gorgeous color-changing maziora paint, each has been treated to subtle masked and brushed detailing… Priced at $90 for the customs and just $35 for the limited runs, Cherri Polly’s impressive selection of new figures will be touching down in the Baketan store at some point this Friday, May 15th…

Having already had the honor of releasing exclusive runs of both Monoclon and Tyranbo, Angel Abby are proud to reveal that they’ve taken on yet another figure from Cojica Toys’ line of dino sofubi, the winged Soprano! Produced in a white soft vinyl this time around, the mid-sized figure has been treated to a rainbow of faded sprays courtesy of Angel Abby’s Andy, coming complete with a matching drill accessory that can be fitted to the figure with hidden magnets. Up for grabs at Angel Abby’s Hong Kong-based store tomorrow, a limited supply have been held back for an online release this Saturday, May 16th at 12am Hong Kong time…

Taiwan-based resin artist Shon Side is proud to reveal that he’ll be attending Design Fiesta 41 this weekend with a whole heap of new goodies in-tow! Marking the return of his signature Cap Duck figure in a sleek “Steel Space” colorway, the stunning piece will be joined by 2 versions of the Cat Rider – “Lucky Cat Rider” and “I am Catrider” – as well as Gummy Duck a selection of 5 all-new translucent colorways. Up for grabs at Design Fiesta booth K-447 this Saturday, May 16th, a limited amount of each have been held back for a simultaneous drop on the Shon Side online store. Touching down at 9am Hong Kong time, the figures have been priced between $30-$110 each plus shipping…

Following the success of his recent “Trash Wizard” release, illustrator Joseph Harmon has wasted no time in getting to work on his latest resin action figure… the awesome Drug Dealing Shark! Standing at around 3.75” tall and coming with 2 points of articulation, the originally sculpted piece has been produced in a light blue resin for this first outing, coming complete with Harmon’s signature mix of contrasting neon and pastel brushwork. Limited to an edition of 25 figures – each coming blister mounted on a card backer alongside a bag of nose candy(!) – the Drug Dealing Sharks will be touching down in the artist’s store at some point this Friday, May 15th for just $65 shipped in the US. Following the quick sell-out of their first collaboration a few months back, the fine chaps over at Goodleg Toys have once again teamed up with Small Angry Monster for the next instalment of “War on Prehis” Battlepacks! Limited to just 2 sets this time around, each comes complete with 1 10″ Battlesaur and either a 5.5″ Mace Drone or Claw Drone, all cast in resin by Goodleg and meticulously painted by Small Angry Monster in mix of acrylic brushwork and washes. Plaseebo is proud to reveal that he’s teamed up with Gorgoloid‘s Barry Allen Williams for a special Night Gamer micro-run! Limited to an edition of just 3 this time around, the 7″ tall soft vinyl figures have each been treated to a mix of purple and green Monster Kolor sprays, complete with custom re-sculpted claws and arms as well as fitted taxidermy eyes. Signed, numbered and dated by Barry, the Gorgoloid Night Gamers will be touching down in the Plaseebo store next Wednesday, May 20th, coming in at $300 each plus shipping…

Jon Malmstedt of Rampage Toys will be descending upon Design Fiesta 41 this weekend with a whole load of original sofubi, custom one-offs and painted runs, the first to be revealed coming in the form of this gorgeous “Glow Verson” Kaibutsuya Kesagake sofubi! Standing at a lofty 10.5″ tall and coming with 4 points of articulation, the menacing grizzly has been produced in a glow in the dark vinyl soft vinyl for the release, coming complete with a number of icy blue, metallic yellow and neon pink sprays. Up for grabs at the Rampage DF booth (C-356) starting Saturday, May 16th (price TBC), an extremely limited supply are due to be held back for an online lottery release at some point next week. Bog Squad are proud to reveal that they’ve teamed up with Hot Blood Premium Goods for a special “Worst Place” Bog Dweller tee and toy set! Inspired by Ed Roth’s iconic Rat Fink character, the stunning, multi-part resin figure has been produced in the rodent’s classic red and (GID) green, with all detailing – including both microscopic eyes and teeth – cast into the figure without the use of any paint. MAN-E-NEWS// Awesome Toy x Slave One’s “FAKE BARON Vs. Duo Gero” Battle Packs announced…

Originally announced back in January, the first release in Awesome Toy‘s FAKE BARON Battle Pack series – FAKE BARON Vs. Duo Gero – is finally set for release this week! For those that missed our original post, the guys kindly share a little background about the project… “Imagine Fake Baron is a real tv show, whereby in each episode Fake Baron will be fighting different enemy. It is a collaboration project between Awesome Toy and many other sofubi makers around the world. In each battle set, we will be painting other sofubi brand’s character and the partnered brand doing the same for our Fake Baron…” Featuring a pair of Slave One‘s Gero figures alongside the pachi super ‘bot – one in red vinyl and the other, lavender (pictured) – the first “episode”, an edition of just 15-20 sets, will be up for grabs via e-mail lottery over the next few days. MAN-E-NEWS (UPDATED)// Mee Mie’s “Lemonjah” keshi revealed…

The creators of last years hugely popular “Emerian” Vinyl Artist Gacha figure (check it here) – Mee Mie – are proud to reveal that they’ll have an all-new mini up for grabs at Design Fiesta 41 this weekend! Entitled “Lemonjah”, the Neclos-inspired anthropomorphic fruit has been hand sculpted in keshi-scale by Mee Mie’s Kazuaki Sasaki, coming cast in a lemon yellow colored rubber for this first release. Touching down at Mee Mie’s DF booth (number TBC) this Saturday, May 16th, Lemonjah is expected to come in at around 2,500yen ($21)… Here’s hoping for an overseas release soon!

UPDATE// Mee Mie’s Kazuaki Sasaki has just announced that Big Lemonjah will be available at DF for just 1,500yen ($13). Go check him out at booth C-45 if you’re lucky enough to attend the event this weekend!

UK-based Japanese collectable importer/distributor Ko-Re Ko-Re are proud to reveal that they have a limited number of custom Uamou sofubi minis up for grabs! Originally making their debut at ToyCon UK a few weeks back, the adorable 3″ tall figures have been cast in a matt black soft vinyl this time around, coming complete with unique one-off doodles in white marker courtesy of Uamou creator, Ayako Takagi. The guys over at Refreshment Toy are proud to reveal that an all-new “Exotic Short Hair” version of their ever-popular Cupcake Cat sofubi will be making its debut at Design Fiesta 41 this weekend! Standing at around 2.5″ tall, the adorable little kitty will be making it’s first appearance in a clear soft vinyl, coming with a gorgeous pink, grey, white and red internal paint app and gold inset dolls eyes. Packed in a deluxe custom printed mini tote bag, the “Exotic Short Hair” Cupcake Cat will be available alongside a whole host of other Refreshment goodies at DF booth G423 starting this Saturday, May 16th… Here’s hoping a few make it online soon after!

Shigeo Endo over at Bukimi Blasters has been hard at work preparing a total of 4 new Evil Demon micro-runs for release this weekend! Produced in a mix of bright green, black and clear soft vinyl, the 5.5″ tall figures have each been treated to a number of metallic neon sprays, coming complete with either hand threaded hair or the alternate “Bukimi Kun” head. Touching down in the Bukimi Blaster store via preorder today at 9am Eastern time, super-limited quantities of all 4 versions will be available for just $115 each plus shipping…

Originally debuting at Wonderfestival back in February, the “Zombie Army” keshi from up and coming keshi outfit FTWR Toy is finally set to receive it’s first worldwide release! Based on FTWR’s recent Bikkuriman-style sticker release, the ingenious 2.5″ tall design comes complete with a couple of neat design features inspired by knock-off kinkeshi- an embedded blade in the shoulder and a lead pipe that can be removed from the chest! Due to be produced in a selection of flesh, green and pink rubber, the little guy will come packed with the aforementioned holographic sticker plus booklet for just $25 plus shipping. Having made an appearance at various conventions and shows over the past month, the “Deimos” edition Space Mining Division 5 figure from Jeff Lamm and Unbox Industries will finally be up for grabs worldwide this weekend via limited preorder! Easily the largest and most production-intensive figure in the series to date, the looming 9″ tall beast features a total of 6+ points of articulation, a removable back pack, plus 5 multi-colored, interconnecting tubes. Japan-based artist Brian Bunting will be bringing along a whole slew of Galaxy People figures to Design Fiesta 41 next weekend, the first we’ll be revealing coming in the form of these adorable “Pocket Guardian” mini figures! Originally seeing a limited release back in 2012, these little guys have finally made their return in 2 all-new colorways; orange and black, both coming hand cast in solid resin, treated to silver sprays and fitted with both dolls eye inserts and a key charm chain. Eric Smith over at Full Blown Ink is proud to reveal that his debut production toy “Vulkira” is set to drop in an all-new “Berserker” colorway this weekend! Born out of a love of giant Japanese robots, the stunning, fully articulated figure borrows elements from the likes of the Shogun Warriors and Jumbo Machinders, albeit compacted down to a more collector-friendly 8″ scale. Produced in soft vinyl courtesy of Unbox Industries, the ‘bot has been treated to a paint app inspired by the X-Men’s Wolverine this time around, coming with a mix of masked primary yellow, blue, red and black sprays.
