MAN-E-NEWS// The “Free Comic Book Day” Zombo action figure from Unbox Industries x Retroband…

Teased here a couple of months back, the official, 2000ad licensed “Zombo” figure from Retroband and Unbox Industries will be making a limited debut during international Comic Book Day today (5/2)! Based on the human-zombie hybrid originally created by Al Ewing and Henry Flint, the character – a star of his own series in 2000AD that ran until 2013 – has been redesigned by Retroband’s Aaron Moreno and digitally sculpted by the team at Unbox. Standing at around 3.75″ tall, the vinyl action figure has been produced in a mix of “blank” classic and blue GID for this first run, with a fully painted and blister carded version planned for general release soon after. Unfortunately only available in the UK, the GID Zombos will be touching down at London’s Forbidden Planet later on today for an undisclosed sum… Look out for more on the official release over the coming weeks!

MAN-E-NEWS// The Siryosei Expo exclusive “Snack Pack” sofubi minis from Rampage Toys…

Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys has revealed that he’ll be exhibiting at Mandarake‘s Siryosei Expo in Nakano, Tokyo, this Sunday, bringing along a whole host of one-off customs and painted runs… including this rather awesome “Snack Pack” sofubi mini set! Featuring both male and female Hokkaido settler omake from Rampage’s highly sought after Kesagake sofubi, the 3″ tall, 2-part figures have been produced in a flesh-toned vinyl this time around, featuring a mix of black, brown, pink, white and blue hand painted detailing. Packed in an authentic “snack foods” box with a header designed by Walter P, each set comes with an all-new holographic sticker created by Bikkuriman enthusiast Kanayama-san. Edition size is still to be confirmed at present, but we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that at least a couple sets remain for online sales early next week…

MAN-E-NEWS// The “Poison Touch” Mockbat from Paul Kaiju…

Continuing his onslaught of releases this year, Paul Kaiju has just revealed details for this weekend’s surprise “Poison Touch” Mockbat raffle! What has got to be one of the most eye catching painted runs of the 6″ beast so far, the stunning figure has been cast up in a bright orange soft vinyl, coming with an explosion of vivid metallic purple, green and black sprays. Packaged alongside a matching Hellmock mini with chained Mockbeast omake for just $150 plus shipping, anyone looking to bag the piece is going to need to fill out the dedicated raffle form that’ll be appearing on the artist’s site (click the “Raffle Open” tab on the front page) this Sunday, May 3rd at Noon Pacific time. Open for a 24 hour period, winners will be notified via e-mail within 4 days of the raffle’s close… Good luck to all who enter!

MAN-E-NEWS// The BETONES exclusive “Cosmos Alien Series” from Medicom Toy…

Originally debuting way back in September of last year, Medicom Toy‘s Cosmos Alien Series is set to return as part of an unlikely – yet mind bendingly awesome – collaboration with Japanese underwear brand, BETONE! Featuring Cosmos’ original 1970’s Octopus (Ooze-It) and Fish gacha minis, the pair are joined by 4 new sculpts from Mirock Toy’s Kaneko Yowohei; the Squid, Sea Urchin, Blob Fish and Sea Horse. Produced in a variety of super-squishy glitter infused clear vinyl, the gang are due to come randomly packed in with the purchase of a pair of Cosmos Alien themed underpants. With a total of 5 different designs up for grabs at just 3,900yen ($33) each, be sure to look out for these ridiculously cool pant/toy sets when they hit BETONE retailers in late August…

MAN-E-NEWS// Rampage Toys’ “Red King” and “Pigumon” Ultra Kaiju sofubi teased…

With the success of both Jamira and Aboras tucked firmly under his belt, Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys has been given the green light on 2 more figures for his ongoing Ultra Kaiju series, taking on the mighty Red King and Pigumon! Taken from classic tokusatsu show Ultaman, the official, Tsuburaya-licensed figures have been sculpted by Jon in-scale with the previous 2 releases at around 5″ tall each; with Red King featuring the original UK Aboras body topped with an all-new head sculpt, whilst Pigumon – complete with his infamous balloon! – having been created from the ground up. Due to make their debut via open preorder at Design Fiesta in just a couple of weeks time, expect a full, painted reveal of the pair very soon…

MAN-E-NEWS// Blurble’s “OozeOozeOoze” Instagram auction…

Teased here just last week, the first of Blurble‘s latest Ooze-It themed toy – the “OozeOozeOoze” foam ball – is now up for grabs! Inspired by cult gross-out line “Madballs”, Shigeru Arai’s highly sought after “NagNagNag” ball, and more recently, The Disarticulators’ “Oozeball”, the awesomely oozey piece has been sculpted in-scale at around 3.5″ across, coming cast in a squishy paintable foam similar to the original 80’s balls. With only a very limited amount produced, Blurble will be offering the balls up as unique one-off customs that will be sold via auction on his Instagram feed. With the first – an “Ooze-It” green homage – already up, interested parties are going to need to head over to the dedicated IG post here and get their bid in before close this Friday, May 1st at 9am Eastern time… Here’s hoping for more soon!

Toy Art Gallery are proud to reveal that Paul Kaiju‘s Gacha Mini figures will be returning this week in an exclusive “Shamrock Green” colorway! Featuring all 5 designs from the original line-up, including the mini Mockbat, Boss Carrion and Unchiman, the 2″ tall, 2-part soft vinyl figures are being offered up in an unpainted bright green soft vinyl, coming in at $15 singularly and just $60 for the set. Up and coming sofubi producer Glider Works are proud to reveal that their adorable “Nipper” and “Spiky” sofubi are now up for grabs in an all-new “GWGW Ver.” colorway! Standing at around 3″ tall and coming with 3 points of articulation each, the pair have been produced in a clear soft vinyl for this fourth official release, coming complete with contrasting semi-translucent yellow/red and blue sprays. Currently up for grabs in limited quantities through the Glider Works store right here, both “Nipper” and “Spiky” can be yours for just 2,200yen ($19) each plus shipping…

Singapore-based artist Daniel Yu is proud to reveal that he’ll have a whole slew of new figures up for grabs in his online store this weekend! First making their debut at Art Toy Culture Seoul a couple of weeks back, a limited supply of pieces have been held back specifically for online sales, including familiar characters alongside all-new creations “Zuco Banana” the monkey general, “Porkins” the mutant pig and more. Standing at around 3″-4″ each, the figures have been broken up into 2 broad categories for the sale, with “solid colored” (some mixed parts) variants coming in at $19-$30 each, and “fully hand painted” versions just $60-$80. Touching down in the Daniel Yu store this Saturday, May 2nd at 9am Singapore time, be sure to head on over early to take a closer look at what will be on offer…

The guys over at Super7 are proud to reveal that they’ll have not 1, but 2 new figures touching down in-store next week! First out of the blocks comes the latest version of the team’s officially licensed Alien sofubi, the “Sudden Death” edition. Collaboratively produced alongside Secret Base, the 4.5″ tall figure has been designed and sculpted to look like a classic Poppy sofubi mini, this time around coming cast in a dark blue soft vinyl with a crimson red blood splatter paint app… Next we have the return of Josh Herbolsheimer’s adorable Caveman Dinosaur in an all-new “Luminous Lizard” colorway. Standing at around 4″ tall and featuring articulation in the waist, the little guy has been cast in glow-in-the-dark soft-vinyl with baby blue, white, pink, and metallic silver sprays… Priced at just $50 and $35 respectively, both the Alien and Caveman Dino will be touching down in the Super7 store next Thursday, May 7th at Noon Pacific time…

David Healey aka Healeymade has just revealed that he’ll be releasing 2 new resin runs in his store later on today (4/29)! First off, we have the latest edition of the artist’s latest 5.5″ figure, the jaw-dropping Fra Diavolo. Rather aptly translating from French as “Brother Devil” – the nickname given to notorious Neapolitan guerrilla leader Michele Pezza – the stunning MOTU-scaled piece has been meticulously kit-bashed and re-sculpted from various vintage action figures, this time coming cast in a selection of mixed-part clear tinted resin for just $50 a piece… Next we have the latest edition of Healey’s highly popular Toil and Trouble. Standing at around 3″ tall, the figure has been kit-bashed from a vintage Disney’s Snow White figurine, coming complete with two mini ‘witch head’ hands – a subtle reference to the 3 hags in the infamous play, Macbeth. Produced in a mesmerising purple glitter infused resin, the old hag will be up for grabs alongside Fra in the Healeymade store today at 3pm EST, priced just $25 plus shipping…

Butch Adams over at Butcherbrand is proud to reveal that his elusive “Slime Ape” sofubi has returned for a special one-off release! Standing at a mid-sized 5″ tall and coming with articulation in the neck and arms, the figure appears to be cast up in a light green soft vinyl, complete with multiple layers of unique metallic sprays. Currently up for grabs via direct sale through Butch, interested parties are going to need to be the first to PayPal $80 (shipped in the US) to butcherlee127@gmail.com… It’s important to note than only a very small supply of the figure remain with no more planned in the near future, so this could be one of your last chances to pick the figure up!

Nama Niku has joined forces with Eric Nilla once more for his latest round of bootleg keshi, proudly presenting the awesome Chibi Pachi-Bots: The Deadly Rays of Death! Meticulously kit-bashed by Nama from a variety of different vintage keshi mini figures, the quartet – Alpha Minus, Omega Trois, Koroshiya Zelph and Kolob Infinito – all stand at a chibi-sized 0.75″-1″ tall, coming cast up by Nilla in a mix of flesh-toned and gold pigmented rubber. Due to drop with header art from none other than John Black in the near future, expect the full lowdown on these little guys soon…

MAN-E-NEWS// The Devils Head Productions x Hellopike “Bodhisattva” Alavaka sofubi revealed…

Toby Dutkiewicz over at Devils Head Productions has just revealed that he’ll be teaming up with Hellopike for the first official painted release of the new Bodhisattva Alavaka sofubi! Produced in what appears to be a black vinyl, the 4″ tall figures have each been treated to a number of orange, metallic blue and pink sprays from Hellopike – as well as one contrasting gold and red chase – each comes complete with both Alavaka and Bodhisattva heads, a set of prayer beads and a scroll. Touching down in the DHP webshop this coming Saturday, May 2nd for just $60 each plus shipping, we suggest you start praying to the gods now to be in with a chance of snagging one!

MAN-E-NEWS// Medicom Toy’s “Hulk” and “Rocket Racoon” for the Marvel Retro Sofubi Collection…

Having delved into the world of DC Comics last month with the release of both Batman and Deadlock last month, Medicom Toy have returned to rival line – The Marvel Retro Sofubi Collection – for their latest round of comic-book inspired releases, taking on the mighty Hulk and Guardians of the Galaxy’s Rocket Racoon! Once again sculpted by Bear Model with coloring courtesy of Monsters Stock Farm, the vintage-styled duo come in at around 11″ and 8″ respectively, both coming with a total of 5 points of articulation. Currently available to Japanese customers through the Medicom store, international customers can find the pair on the Rakuten Global Market right here, priced at 11,880yen ($99.76) for the Hulk and just 8,640yen ($73) for Rocket. Up for grabs until May 31st, shipping is expected in late August 2015…

This past Saturday saw ToyCon UK touch down in London’s Bethnal Green for it’s third year of toy-based shenanigans, bringing with it a whole host of worldwide artists and retailers from across vinyl, resin, sofubi and even kaiju this time around. Whilst we could be found over at the Toy Shack booth for the majority of the event, we did manage to get some time to pick up some toys, chat shop with old friends, and more importantly, snap some of the choice figures that were up for grabs. Having made an appearance at Superfestival 68 over the weekend, Kenth Toy Works are proud to reveal that the latest version of their collaboration with SIX F – the “Clear Color” Naminori Kaijin Oron – is now available to overseas customers! Standing at a lofty 8.6″ tall with 10″ sharkboard accessory, the driftwood and coral infused surfer dude has been produced in a clear soft vinyl this time around, coming with a selection of semi-translucent sprays over a black rub base. Having interned with Peter Kato back in 2013 and released his debut figure, the “Big Top” late last year, Kevin Nam over at Inami Toyland is proud to reveal his latest resin creation… the Robo Top! Coming in at a more streamlined and refined 2″ tall by 2″ wide, the fully working, hand sculpted spinning top features an ingenious “rock, paper, scissors” style mechanic similar to Big Top, with each of the robots hands (clenched, 2 fingers up and 3 fingers up) representing the game’s 3 choices. Produced by Kevin in 2 different colorways for this debut release, an unpainted “Red” and “Blue”, both have been limited to an edition of just 10 pieces.
