MAN-E-NEWS// The ToyCon UK exclusive “Black Glitter” Ace Robo sofubi from Comet Debris…

Joining the previously posted “Marbled Green” Kappa Kid and “Glow” Kappa Shonen, Koji Harmon over at Comet Debris has revealed yet another exclusive figure he’ll have up for grabs at ToyCon UK later this month, the “Black Glitter” Ace Robo! Produced in a clear soft vinyl with black vinyl flecks – an experimental process that we’re told won’t be repeated again due to it’s difficulty – the 7″ tall piece has been treated to a minimal mix of gold and black masked sprays. Priced at just £40, the limited run of 5 figures will be up for grabs alongside a number of other soon-to-be-announced pieces at the Comet Debris booth (#38) on Saturday, April 25th… Look out for more reveals – including a batch of marbled glow/blue Suns of Broadarr and red glitter Electric Boys – soon!

Joining the slew of previously posted Skull Head Butt and Roughneck:7 exclusives that Kaijumonster will have up for grabs at ToyCon UK ’15 in just a couple of weeks time, the toy blogger-come-gallery curator has revealed yet another pair of exclusives in the form of the stunning Elegab “Hedogon” and “Kouzira” one-offs you see above! Produced in contrasting clear blue and bright green soft vinyl, the duo have been painted up in Elegab’s signature mix of neon and metallic sprays, coming signed and numbered 1/1 by the artist on the base. Touching down at the Kaijumonster booth (#29) on Saturday, April 25th alongside a whole host of other kaiju and sofubi exclusives, pricing for the pair will unfortunately be kept close-guarded until the day of the event…

MAN-E-NEWS// The “Goon Squad” from Monster Island x Grizlli Atom x Pop Soda announced…

GNOSIS’ Grizlli Atom has just revealed that he’ll be teaming up with Monster Island and Pop Soda for the release of an all-new line of Madball-inspired figures… the Goon Squad! Whilst little is known about the project as of yet, we can only assume that the series is a natural progression from the previously released “Shitball” figure (check it out here if you missed it), featuring design lead by Monster Island, sculpting from Grizlli Atom and, we presume, soft vinyl production courtesy of Pop Soda over in Japan. Be sure to stay tuned for more news on this very promising project soon!

Paul Kaiju‘s highly sought after Mr REE sofubi is set to return this weekend in a gorgeous “Vanilla x Smoke” colorway! Produced in – surprise, surprise! – a mix of vanilla and clear smoke colored soft vinyl, the 5.5″ tall figure is set to come with your choice of either “Fungus Boxer” or “Prince” attachments, including removable boots, gauntlets and helmets, as well as the original Bunny and Rootman additions too. Due to touch down in the Paul Kaiju store alongside a whole host of other cool surprises this Sunday, April 12th at 5pm Pacific time, the “Vanilla x Smoke” Mr REE’s will set you back just $100 each plus shipping…

MAN-E-NEWS// Uky Daydreamer’s “Hot Pink” UD Mask sofubi mini at Jungle…

Joining a limited restock of Deku the Buster’s third colorway, “Crisis” (check him out here if you haven’t already), the guys over at Jungle have revealed that they’ll also be unleashing an all-new colorway of Uky Daydreamer‘s UD Mask sofubi mini this weekend too! A collaboration between Uky and Japanese illustrator Art Junkie, the little lucha-style wrestler stands at around 2.5″ tall, features articulation at the neck and comes with an awesome 2-faced design. Produced in an unpainted hot pink soft vinyl for the release, UD Mask will be up for grabs from the Jungle store this Saturday, April 11th at 1pm Japan time for an undisclosed sum…

Italian resin artist Codec Zombie is proud to present his latest release, the absolutely breathtaking “Kubrey… a resin tribute”! A loving homage to legendary film director Stanley Kubrick, the hand sculpted piece stands at 4.3″ tall, coming cast in 155 grams of pure, solid resin. Available in a number of different colorways, ranging from a blank “DIY” for €90, a limited run of 35 in “Regular” for €180, and a selection of ultra-limited one-off monochrome versions for €250, each has been hand sprayed by the artist, coming packed on a signed and numbered thermoformed blister card. Look out for Kubrey in the Codec Zombie store today (4/10) at 3pm CET…

MAN-E-NEWS// DeathCat Toys’ one-off resin “Elder Demons” for TAG’s “GNOSIS” group show…

Johan Ulrich over at DeathCat Toys has begun to reveal the selection of pieces he’ll have on display at Toy Art Gallery‘s upcoming GNOSIS group show next week, the first batch that we’ll be revealing coming in the form of these stunning one-off resin “Elder Demons” sets! Featuring both Oni Mira and the Red Pharaoh from Series 1, the Bikkuriman-style minis have been limited to a run of just 7 sets for the event, each coming in a slew of different finishes including directional sprays, rubs and brushwork courtesy of Johan. Up for grabs alongside works from Grizlli Atom, KtoKto, Monster Island, Snatch Punch & Izu Monster at the show’s opening on Saturday, April 18th, any leftover pieces will be heading to the TAG online store soon after. It had to happen sooner or later, the awesome Zinewolf sofubi from Hateball has finally been treated to a run in creator Justin Jewett’s all-time favourite color… presenting the “Green Scene” edition! Limited to a run of just a handful of figures, the 8 piece vinyl toy comes unpainted in a mixed-part selection of green tones including both clear and opaque finishes, complete with an oversized, magnetically attached mask with contrasting crown (not shown). As if the last few remaining “Ugly Club” slots weren’t enough, Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys has unexpectedly dropped a whole barrage of other goodies in his online store this morning! Whilst a number of big ticket items have already gone – a stunning Cadaver Kid, Usir and Diggler set and a batch of Krotpong’s Homunculords, amongst others – remaining items left include runs of unpainted “Squeaky” Lab Mice in Ooze-It green and gunmetal for $41 per set, plus the Skull Head Butt figures you see below (Mars-X, Gorillinator and Bio-X) for just $100 each. In celebration of his first year in the business, John Pryor over at Dollar Slice Bootlegs is proud to reveal that he’ll be dropping his first 100% original toy, King Gonka! Sculpted by Pryor, the 4″ (TBC) figure has been hand cast in resin, featuring magnetic articulation in the arms and head, a right hand designed to hold a “dabber”, plus a mini bong accessory. Limited to an edition of just 10 pieces (including GID chase variants) – each coming packed with a header designed by @eyeone_sh – King Gonka will be touching down in the DSB store on the anniversary of their first release, Monday, April 20th, for $50 shipped in the US…

Refreshment Toy will be joining a whole host of other Japanese sofubi artists for the Toys, Things & Art group show at SF’s Woot Bear Gallery this week, bringing along with them a limited edition “Pierced Mohawk” version of their hugely popular Many Eyes Cat! Produced in a clear vinyl this time around, the all-seeing “cupcake cat” has been treated to Refreshment’s signature internal paint app in a mix of white, orange, red and black, coming complete with a hand threaded mohawk and piercings in the ears and labret. With the UK’s premier art toy event ToyCon touching down in just a couple of weeks time, our editor-in-chief Tru:Tek has decided to start teasing the handful of exclusives he’ll have up for grabs at the event… starting with the jaw-dropping “Predatooze” Oozeball from The Disarticulators! Produced in a squishy clear matt soft vinyl this time around, the Tru:Tek-designed, Zectron-sculpted “sqeaky toy” has been filled to the brim with custom tie-dyed pom poms to resemble the infamous thermal imaging effect from cult 80’s flick, Predator. Whilst we rather impatiently wait for the release of the next Errants painted run, creator Aaron Arel over at UhOh Toys has been filling the gap nicely with a selection of one-off hand paints, the latest coming in the form of this awesome Mazinger Z-inspired Cutty! Standing at around 2.5″ tall and coming with articulation in the neck, the bullish little astronaut has been produced in a glossy black vinyl this time, replete with authentic green, blue, red and silver sprays. Signed, numbered and packed with a certificate of authenticity, the “Mazinger” Cutty can currently be found in the UhOh store right here for just $10 plus shipping…

The guys over at Super7 are proud to present not one, but two new releases touching down in-store next week! First up, we have the “Acidic Orange” Alien sofubi… Collaboratively produced alongside Secret Base, the 4.5″ tall figure has been designed and sculpted to look like a classic Poppy sofubi mini, this time around coming cast in a clear “acidic” orange soft vinyl with a detail hugging black rub and that all-important clear cast dome. Available in limited quantities, the figure will be up for grabs next Thursday, April 16th at Noon Pacific time for just $50 a piece… Next we have the latest version of Super7’s collaboration with apparel brand MISHKA, the “Swirled Fusion” (TBC) Keep Watch Mummy Boy! Featuring the standard size Mummy Boy body complete with a “Keep Watch” Oculus-style head, the figure has been produced in a swirled purple and red vinyl complete with silver paint accents. Produced in what appears to be a clear soft vinyl this time around, the 8″ tall piece has been treated to sublime pink, gold and black sprays with a tinsel chest insert. Available in super-limited quantities at the Minty Fresh booth (# forthcoming) on Saturday, April 25th, the “Spirit Ager” Neo Japan will set you back just £80. Paul Bas over at NYC’s MonsterIsland is proud to reveal the first in a series of resin figures he’ll be unleashing throughout the year based on the seminal work of Ed Roth… the jaw-dropping My Pet Fink! An ingenious mash-up of Roth’s Rat Fink and iconic 80’s plush toy-cum-Saturday morning cartoon star My Pet Monster, the impressive 8″ tall piece was co-designed alongside Gnosis’ Grizlli Atom and digitally sculpted by iamscumbag, with full-scale resin production due courtesy of MonsterIsland soon.
