Having garnered a huge amount of attention over their Green Green Army gachapon figures – check them here if you haven’t already – Panda’s Den have just revealed that a follow-up series will be touching down early next year, the Fat Cute Soldiers! Once again heavily inspired by the classic “cheap toy” army men figures of old, the series of 8 designs; Calorie Boy, Honey Sniper, Fat Bear, Sugar Ball, Sweet Killer, Oily Joe, Big Mad Mac and Coffee Breaker, stand at around 2″-2.75″ each, coming cast in a deep green PVC with removable display base. Monkey 3000 over at Ummikko has just revealed that his Koningu sofubi is set to return just in time for Christmas for a special Holiday release! Standing at around 5.5″ tall and featuring 3 points of articulation, the awesome vintage-style ape is due to come in both unpainted red and GID green soft vinyl with an estimated price of around $50 each plus shipping. Japanese Star Wars fan site and retailer Star Case have just revealed that their hilarious bootleg sofubi line Space Convoy is set to return with the third edition of Darth knock-off, Gull Meyer Governor! Once again produced in a matt black soft vinyl, the crudely sculpted Dark Lord of the Convoy has been treated to a crimson paint app inspired by the Red Guard and Darth Maul this time around, coming complete with a hand cut white vinyl cape and packaged in a vintage garage kit-style box. Due to touch down in the Star Case store at some point in January 2015, expect full release details over the next couple of weeks…
Our good friend Gabe Mackenzie over at apparel brand Leucotomy has revealed that he’s joined forces with Blood Guts Toys for a special UK exclusive run of the highly sought after Shikabane Kaiju! Primarily featuring the Flesh Eater head sculpt with just one “Blue” Toxic Eater chase, the 11″ tall figures have been produced in a bright pink soft vinyl this time around, coming with a mix of crimson and yellow/blue sprays layered over a detail hugging black rub. Bagged and tagged with header art from Leucotomy, the figures will be going on sale in-store to UK customers only this Thursday, December 18th for £160 plus shipping, with any leftover after a 12 hour period being offered up worldwide via lottery. Cure Toys have just revealed that they’ve been working on an all-new line of small-mid sized sofubi, proudly presenting Ukkariman! Heavily inspired by the hugely popular Bikkuriman holographic stickers and accompanying toys, the series is set to feature a number of Cure creations – both old and new – in the IP’s classic super-deformed style, with the first 3 confirmed as the cycloptic Giant Ghoul, King Devil and our personal favourite, Fungah. Details on the first release are still scarce at present, but a recent post on the new Cure Instagram feed would suggest that more info will be coming later in the week…

Up and coming toy artist A.R.M (Alien Robot Monster) has just revealed that his first figure, the incredible Monsterex, will be finally making its debut this week! Directly inspired by one of the many foes found in the classic TMNT Adventures comics, the ingenious mix of Universal Monsters – including elements from the Creature from the Black Lagoon, Frankentstein’s Monster, the Mummy and Dracula – has been perfectly realised in 2″ keshi-form, coming digitally sculpted in Z-Brush, 3D printed and then cast in resin by A.R.M. Due to be making its first appearance in the pictured “Ice Metal” colorway you see above, look out for the little guy in the newly opened A.R.M store this Wednesday, December 17th at 2pm Pacific time…

Inspired by a mix of both classic monster designs and 80s Japanese horror toys – including the iconic MaBa Zombies – this second wave once again features a total of 3 different designs; a quad-eyed Werewolf, Creature from the Black Lagoon and a de-tombed mummy, each sculpted in the classic finger puppet style and produced in an uncapped soft vinyl. To be produced alongside Tug-O-War plus designs from another 2 as yet unconfirmed artists – more on those very soon – Shogu-Nasty is due to come in a unique, keshi-like slosh cast soft vinyl, a medium we’re very interested in checking out! Backstory-
“Hatano Hideharu, 1541 – June 25, 1579, was head of the Hatano clan, and successfully maintained independance against the impossible Might of Oda Nobunaga. For three years he and his clan hindered Nobunaga’s march to Kyoto at Yagami Castle until he offered Nobunaga surrender, and was dishonorably executed.
His enraged spirit maintained itself in the stones of Yagami Castle, causing it to trmor, and deteriorate at a rapid speed. A thick, horrible electricity filled the halls of the castle, making it inhabitable. A proud caretaker remained for several decades alone, until the sound of breathing, living flesh in the walls became too terrible to take.
A year later, the castle was almost complete gone. Vanished. Old wives said they’d seen it slowly thundering through the forset, to the sea. No one believed them until now. Hatano has returned…
