Having seen numerous prototypes and test shots over the past couple of months, it comes with great pleasure today to reveal that Max Toy‘s latest sofubi mini “Kitsura” is now finally up for preorder! Based on a design from up and coming artist Candie Bolton, the Japanese folk lore inspired piece has been sculpted by none other than Pico Pico, standing around 3″ tall and coming with 2 points of articulation. Cast in a white soft vinyl for its debut outing, the figure has been painted by Max Toy’s Mark Nagata, featuring subtle dark pink fades coupled with gold and black hand brushed detailing. It’s that time of the month again! Medicom Toy have just unveiled yet another mind-blowing selection of toys up for grabs over the next 4 weeks, the first coming in the form of this stunning Berserker exclusive from Mutant Vinyl Hardcore. Marking the second official release of MVH’s hulking 14″ tall monstrosity, the figure has been cast in a white vinyl this time around, featuring pink, green, gold and black sprays in a similar style to the recent Krawlus release and coming packed with matching trident weapon and severed head accessory. Currently available in Japan through the Medicom Toy store, overseas customers are going to have to try their luck through the dedicated Berserker lottery right here. As promised in our post last week, Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys has just loaded his store with a batch of Art Junkie‘s latest sofubi micro, the adorable Sister Mayo! Designed and sculpted by the artist based on his real-life martial arts expert sister, Mayo, the sub 2″ figure has been produced by Rampage in a number of different colourways for this first run. Originally debuting at “Karate Bravo” in Shibuya’s The Game last Saturday, Jon is offering up the same choice of unpainted blanks that were available at the event, with just $18 securing a blind assortment of 3 figures (with 1 random random hand paint guaranteed). Kikkake have just unveiled an all-new line of sofubi that’ll be making its debut soon, the Rolly Polly Bombs! Drawing inspiration from the classic “Weeble” roly poly toys of the 1970’s, the series is set to feature 3 different ball-shaped designs; reoccurring characters the Iron Monkey and Clown, alongside new addition, the Iron Skull. With the first batch of Radioactive Uppercut‘s 8-Ball sofubi finally making its way into collectors homes following a successful Kickstarter campaign last year (check it out here), customiser Topheroy has wasted no time in giving his a full lick of paint! Standing at around 4.5″ tall and coming with 3 points of articulation, the “Radioactive Rumbler has been treated to a similar paint scheme as the previously featured Cadaver Kid custom, replacing Toph’s usual rainbow fades for a more subtle mix of purple, pink and blue sprays with glossy black, white and silver hand painted detailing. Originally teased here earlier in the month, Joe Merrill aka Splurrt has just unveiled his latest creation poised for vinyl soon, the jaw-dropping Cinema Monster! Drawing inspiration from the golden age of monster flicks, including Ray Harryhausen’s classic Cyclops and the 2-headed beast that graces the iconic cover of the 1968 Famous Monsters of Filmland yearbook, the figure is set to become Splurrt’s first ever standard-sized kaiju, coming in at around 9″ tall with 5 points of articulation. Having teased a number of their “Gummi” mini figures in a super-reduced nano size earlier in the year, the guys over at Unbox Industries have finally revealed what the impossibly small figures are to be used for… wearable scenes of monster mass destruction! Teaming up with Greasebat Gummi creator Jeff Lamm and bespoke miniature jewellery artist Shannam, the upcoming release is set to feature a number of different one-off micro dioramas, each painstakingly assembled/hand painted and coming housed in a crystal clear, polished perspex ring. Originally teased here a couple of weeks back, Rampage Toys‘ official Tsuburaya-licensed Jamira figure finally made it’s first public appearance at the Medicom Toy Exhibition’14 yesterday! Due to be the first release in the ongoing Rampage Ultrakaiju Series, the 5″ soft vinyl kaiju is set for a number of limited “homage” colourways over the coming months, the first of which will be available through the Medicom Toy store on September 7th for 4,000yen, preceeded by a limited early release at Wonderfestival on July 27th. Greg Rivera over at Mishka has just revealed that their Cyco Ape kaiju is set to return soon for not 1, but 2 micro-runs courtesy of Mutant Vinyl Hardcore and D-Lux! Information on the releases is still pretty scarce at present save for the teaser from MVH above, but we’re guessing both runs are likely to form part of Mishka’s round of exclusives for SDCC next month. Adam Saul over at Cop A Squat Toys has just teased an all-new adversary to his debut kaiju the Semi-Korosiya, the mighty Ango! Whilst we only really have this blurry image top go on at the moment, we can confirm that the figure is currently in the final stages of digital sculpting courtesy of Shinbone Creative‘s Scott Wetterschneider, with a first release in soft vinyl planned for as early as NYCC in October this year.
