Pictured here as a near-finished sculpt, Sergei, as with debut figure Mutant Steve, borrows heavily from the early 90′s Playmates aesthetic to dazzling affect, coming with all the crazy details and balanced asymmetry that made the likes of TMNT and the Toxic Crusaders such a success in their heyday. Due to be produced in resin by the fine chaps over at Goodleg Toys in the near future, stay tuned for more reveals, including a look at TMNT-style sidekick mini “Boris the Shrimp” and all-new full size figure “FlimFlam”, along with some solid release details as soon as we get ‘em…

MAN-E-NEWS// The “Unpainted Glow” Toxigon from Mutant Vinyl Hardcore…
After over a year since it’s initial reveal, the first release of Toxigon from Mutant Vinyl Hardcore is finally upon us! The first 100% brand new, hand sculpted figure from MVH since the DX back in 2011, the incredible figure draws inspiration from classic kaiju right through to cult b-movie horror, looking, in MVH’s words, like the lovechild of the Toxic Avenger and Godzilla! Standing at a monstrous 11″ tall complete with 9 points of articulation, the beast also comes with 2 awesome accessories- a massive battle mace and his trusty buddy/omake Mackerel Mouth, a recast figure direct from the original moulds of 80’s gross-out Breath Blasters! Up for grabs in an unpainted GID vinyl for this first run, it’s important to note that this will be 1 of only 2 runs to be pulled from the current mould. Due to a slight shrinkage issue in the original casting, the figure has been left with a slightly shorter tail as a result- and whilst it’s surely not going to affect the overall quality, it’ll certainly make these first couple of runs highly sought after! Up for grabs via the now standard MVH lottery, starting this Thursday, May 29th at 12am EST and running for a 24 hour period, successful applicants will be chosen and notified on Friday. Those lucky enough to bag one can expect to pay just $165 plus shipping…
MAN-E-NEWS// Frank Mysterio’s Narquito sofubi Indiegogo campaign…
Frank Mysterio has just unveiled the latest sofubi figure he hopes to get into production with the aid of crowd funding site Indiegogo, the AK47-wielding Narquito! A rather more thought provoking figure compared to his debut, Anticristo 666, the 3.5″ design is the artist’s response to the growing “Narco” scene in Mexico, a subculture that worryingly glamourises and replicates the lifestyles of the country’s unrelenting narcotic traders. Due to head into production over in Japan if and when the Indiegogo campaign hits its target of $2000, a pledge of just $25 will be enough to secure the figure- so be sure to head on over to the dedicated page here and do your bit to help get this little guy into soft vinyl!
