MAN-E-NEWS// The Kickstarter exclusive Mr Melty sofubi from Buff Monster…

With only a week and a half to go until the end of the Melty Misfits 2 Kickstarter (find out more here), Buff Monster has just unveiled a couple of reasons why any self respecting toy-head should take the plunge on the trading card project if they haven’t already… Kickstarter exclusive Mr Meltys! Available in both standard and zombie form, the 3″ tall figures have been cast in a clear soft vinyl with c-thru rainbow faded sprays. Up for grabs as add-ons to the main MM2 pledge tiers, interested parties can donate an additional $30 for one, or $60 to secure the pair. The campaign closes on Friday, May 23rd, so be sure to head over here to bag ’em before they’re gone forever!

MAN-E-NEWS// The Masked Digglers from DHP x Splurrt revealed…

Devils Head Productions have teamed up with Splurrt for a limited run of Masked Digglers! Little has been announced so far, but judging by the attached pic the little guys are set to come cast up in a clear soft vinyl, complete with inside and out blue/purple sprays (plus metallic green chase), and a hand tied GID mask utilising the head of DHP’s ever popular, Splurrt sculpted, Alavaka. Said to be in the final stages of prep at the moment, expect full details on the release to surface over the next few days…

Los Angeles based artist Harlem Sörensen is proud to announce the release of his debut resin figure, The Spirit of OSU! Featuring a unique Picasso inspired closed-fist head design, the digitally sculpted piece clocks in at around 3″ tall, coming hand cast and painted by Sörensen in a simple mix of white, yellow and black. Housed in a custom full-colour printed tube, OSU can be found in the artist’s store right here for a wallet friendly $20 plus shipping…

MAN-E-NEWS// Rampage Toys at Design Fiesta 39…

With Design Fiesta 39 opening its doors this weekend, Jon over at Rampage Toys has started to tease the huge selection of figures that’ll be up for grabs at his booth! Whilst a few big ticket items have been revealed so far, including a micro-run of MVH Ollies (just check out that hand painted eye!) and a custom of Yamomark’s latest figure, Cosmegira, it would appear that the main focus will be on Rampage’s self produced figures, with a whole slew of Gachapon Goblins prepped and ready (including the new Shaggy Unicorn!), alongside one of the very last Ugly Unicorn runs, the stunning GID/Pink Psychedelic Freakout edition.

Going on sale at the Rampage Toys x Fig-Lab x Refreshment booth (E167/168) this Saturday, May 17th, expect any remaining stock to make an appearance online at some point on Monday. Max Toy Co have just revealed their latest figure to hit the wax, the adorable Kitsune Fox! Based on a design from up and coming artist Candie Bolton, the little guy has been sculpted by none other than Pico Pico, standing around 3″ tall and coming with 2 points of articulation. Currently in production courtesy of Max Toy’s Japanese agent Yo Miyamtoto, expect details on the mini sofubi’s debut release over the coming weeks…

MAN-E-NEWS// The “Cherry Blossom” Spongebob X-Ray sofubi from Secret Base…

Hiddy over at Secret Base has just revealed that the Spongebob X-Ray sofubi is making a return this weekend in all-new “Cherry Blossom” colourway! Cast in a clear soft vinyl with bone coloured skeletal insert, the figure comes in a gorgeous split-style paint app, with the vivd OG colours being replaced with a mix of pastel pink, baby blue and light brown sprays. Going on sale at the Secret Base Shibuya store at some point today (5/11), we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that any remaining will be heading online soon after…

MAN-E-NEWS// The Kaiju Oculis: Diadem micro-run from Gorgoloid…

“Kaiju Oculis is a mysterious meteor monster who crashed to the earth with violent impact, disrupting the balance of the ecosystem. Rising from the impact zone, Oculis began absorbing local flora and fauna to create the matter which is its body. As Oculis intakes more nutrients, it’s body becomes increasingly larger. The monster leaves a path of carbon and decay as it lumbers along feeding aimlessly. It seems to simply wander and feed without direction or interest in it’s surroundings unless provoked, in which case the leviathan turns with immense fury upon it’s offender…”

Gorgoloid is proud to reveal that his Kaiju Oculis resin will be returning this week for a special “Diadem” micro-run! Standing at 4″ of solid cast white resin, the stunning multi-textured beast has been dyed and sprayed in a mix of neon and metallic Monster Kolor sprays, complete with black and pink hand painted detailing. Limited to an edition of just 5 pieces, each coming bagged with a unique hand painted watercolour and ink header, the Diadem Kaiju Oculis’ will be touching down in the Gorgoloid store this Monday, May 12th at 6pm PST for $75 each plus shipping…

MAN-E-NEWS// Neon Orange and Green “Pyramid Head” APs from Leviathan…

Originally making its debut early last year, Leviathan‘s awesome Silent Hill inspired M.U.S.C.L.E custom, Pyramid Head, has returned for a limited artist proof run! Based on the cult videogame/film’s reoccurring monster of the same name, the figure has been ingeniously kit-bashed using M.U.S.C.L.E’s 104 and 107, coming with an additional stitched leather apron and sword sculpted in epoxy. Produced in an authentic keshi style rubber by Eric Nilla, the little guy is up for grabs in 2 exclusive colourways this time around, a neon orange and neon green, both limited to just 2 figures each. Hot off the heals of last weekend’s Oozy release, Blurble is proud to reveal that another trio have already hit the store! First up we have the Dark Lord inspired “Ooze Wars”. Cast in a deep black resin, the 6″ tall Ooze-It homage has been decked out with minimal silver and blue accents, sprayed button panel chest and hand cut black vinyl cape. Packed with limited edition stickers and button, Ooze Wars can be found right here for $75 plus shipping… Next we have 2 rather interesting additions to the ever growing Oozy line-up, the first ever mini scaled versions! Reduced to a half-sized 3″ by project producer Dubose Art, the pair have been cast in resin, coming with one-off “Liquid Ooze” sprays from Blurble. After what has seemed like an age since its last outing, Brendan Monroe‘s Figment sofubi sculpture has finally received a new “White Marble” colourway! Based on the artist’s recurring character of the same name, the 11.5″ tall figure was moulded directly from a small original wood sculpture, coming cast in an elegant marbled white and light mint green for the release. Limited to an edition of just 20, Figment can be found in Monroe’s store right here for $100 plus shipping…

MAN-E-NEWS// TKOM’s Demogorgon sofubi proto revealed…

Revealing the awesome Double Think proto just a couple of week back (check it here), it came with great surprise today to find that artist TKOM has unveiled yet another of his creations making it’s way into sofubi production soon, the horned beast Demogorgon! Originally making an appearance back in January as part of a collaborative show with Sexual Yokai, the whopping 16″ tall sculpture has been scaled down for the transformation, featuring a much more balanced stance and tighter detailing than the already incredible original. Obviously still a long way off until it’s first outing, we will of course be bringing you guys any updates on this amazing figure as soon as we hear anything…

MAN-E-NEWS// The “Aggar” Altered Beast sofubi from Geek Life x Sega…

Japanese retro apparel and lifestyle brand Geek Life are proud to reveal the first figure in their upcoming Sega Retro Game Sofubi Collection, Aggar, the iconic first stage boss from Altered Beast! Pictured here in an unpainted flesh soft vinyl, the wonderfully realised demon stays 100% true to the game’s original design, featuring the same precariously stacked body of bones, devilish horns, and even a separate omake performing the beast’s signature projectile head move! Joining the horde of new Altered Beast merch in the Geek Life store soon, keep a close eye on the dedicated Facebook page here for full release details over the next couple of weeks…

MAN-E-NEWS// The Scary Larry mini figure from NolanJP…

Originally teased back in February, NolanJP‘s follow up to last years breath-taking Split Kit custom mini figure is finally about to head into production! Now going by the name of Scary Larry, the beautifully sculpted piece draws inspiration from the work of legendary GPK artist John Pound (primarily his early Eerie Eric sketches), capturing his iconic 2D work in 3D form to a tee. Coming in considerably larger than Split Kit at around 2.5″ tall and almost the same wide, the extra scale has really helped Nolan to go to town on the figure, with the level of detail in particular a huge improvement over the already amazing Kit. Due to be heading into production under the watchful eye of our very own Tru:Tek at the DisArt Studios in the near future, expect details of the first release to follow soon…

Secret Base have just unleashed a whole slew of Ooze-It Alien bootlegs online! Whilst we’re unfortunately a little late to the party with 2 all-new colourways already selling out (a blank GID blue and a clear green w/gold sprays), fans of the classic ooze toy are still in luck, as joining a restock of the squishy blue “Joke Toy” version, SB have finally released an “OG” edition! Coming cast in a near identical green to the original Ooze-It, the figure comes complete with a set of yellow ooze plugs and authentic vintage box. Priced at 25,000yen ($246) for the blue and 20,000yen ($197) for the green, the pair can be found in the Secret Base store right here…

As if yesterday’s Muscle/Mask announcement wasn’t enough, Healeymade has just revealed that yet another piece will be heading to the store alongside the bootleg minis this week, proudly presenting the Infiltrator Witch! Marking a return to the popular “Toil & Trouble” custom bootleg, the figure has been kit-bashed from a vintage Snow White figurine, coming complete with two mini ‘witch head’ hands- a subtle reference to the 3 hags in the infamous play, Macbeth. Hand cast in a stunning crystal clear “stealth” resin, the 3″ figure will be available right here this Thursday, May 8th for just $30 plus shipping…

Kenth Toy Works have just revealed that a number of their Superfestival 65 exclusives will be up for grabs later this week! Featuring the previously posted “Basic Wars” action figures, including 3.75″ incarnations of both Nadsat Boy and NoFuture, the hand cast and sprayed resins are joined by a super-limited run of Nadsat Boy sofubi, coming in at 7″ of bright orange vinyl complete with black, silver and blue sprays. Celebrating the launch of his new online store, Todd Robertson aka Mechavirus has just revealed that a fresh batch of Ammonatio sofubi will be touching down this Friday, May 9th! Dubbed the “Spring ver.1″ edition, the 3.75″x9” figure has been produced in Japan using a white soft vinyl, coming with a number of neon metallic Monster Kolor sprays courtesy of Todd. After a brief hiatus since the epic MVH x SHB show, Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Studios has just revealed the gallery’s latest upcoming collaborative event, pitting Japan’s mighty Elegab against the US’ legendary Bob Conge aka Plaseebo! Opening it’s doors on Saturday, May 31st, the show is set to feature a number of cross-customs from both artists (including the INSANE pictured Kouzira Night Gamer!), as well as one-off customs and maybe even a few micro runs from Jon himself. Once again limited to a micro-run of just 6 figures, the 6.5″ tall Gero has been cast in a gorgeous Tiffany-blue soft vinyl, coming with contrasting neon Mad Ape Ninja sprays and finished with unique coloured dolls eye inserts. Teased way back in March, Healeymade has just revealed that the latest additions to the ongoing Muscle/Mask saga will be touching down later this week! Featuring 2 new creations, the pair have been meticulously kit-bashed from a variety of undisclosed vintage M.U.S.C.L.E and M.A.S.K figures (we won’t ruin it by telling you guys this time!), coming in at 2″ of hand cast resin. Dropping in the Healeymade store this Thursday, May 8th (time TBC), the duo will be up for grabs in a flesh-toned colourway, priced at just $30 plus shipping for the set…

But the Muscle/Mask madness continues! Joining the 2 new guys, Healey will also be resurrecting his unnamed 4-armed contender for a special release! Coming hand painted in the artist’s signature cool blue, purple and black, the 2″ figure is set to drop in a number of blind-bagged configurations including reversed colours and 2-armed variants.
