Having already garnered a huge amount of attention for his ever evolving line of Mudcat Chronicle mini figures, Brooklyn-based artist Kyle Kirwan is looking to take the project one step with the help of Kickstarter… proudly presenting his first full-scale creation, the adorable Willo! Already smashing the required $2,500 target since going live a couple of days back, the campaign has been organised to get the stunning 11″ figure into full-scale resin production. Due to come rotocast by none other than Pretty in Plastic, a number of different versions of the figure are available through the various tiers, including a standard 2-toned pink edition, a Kickstarter exclusive “Ivory” hand painted by Kirwan, plus mini and plush takes on the horned beast. Revealed during our Wonderfestival coverage back in February, it came with great pleasure this week to find out that the first round of jumbo sized Cosmos Aliens are finally up for grabs! Standing at around 8″ each, both figures from the original mini gacha line-up feature, with Alien A (Octopus/Ooze-It bootleg) coming in a red vinyl with tea sprays, and Alien B (Fish) in blue with silver sprays. Steadily teasing us with his incredible, yet sadly unobtainable fibre glass sculptures over the past year or so, TKOM has just revealed that his most popular character, Double Think, will soon finally be available to the masses as a fully-fledged sofubi! Making it’s first appearance at ArtLAB’s DYSTOPIA last summer as a towering 2 foot one-off, the unique blend of neo-kaiju, Garbage Pail Kids, and even George Orwell’s epic, 1984, the stunning piece has been completely re-sculpted and tooled for the new medium, coming in at a still-impressive 11″ tall with 4 points of articulation (and chain ball accessory!). Celebrating the imminent release of cult horror Wolf Cop this summer, the guys over at indie film company Big Kids have teamed up with Eric Scarecrow to produce a fully-fledged companion action figure! Designed and prototyped by Wolf Cop monster-maker Emerson Ziffle and produced in vinyl by Scarecrow’s ESC Toy, the jaw-droppingly detailed figure stands at around 7.5″ tall, coming with an unbelievable 16 points of articulation for ultimate play/posability. Currently looking for funding for the project through Indiegogo right here, Big Kids are offering up a number of different tier pledges, including opening night cinema tickets to the film (June 6th in Canada, September Worldwide), posters, DVDs/Blurays, plus 2 different versions of the figure; a standard edition at $75, plus a collector’s set, limited to 100 signed and numbered figures complete with pewter gun and electric plated gold badge for $200. MAN-E-NEWS// Triplikid’s Micro Mirth figure revealed…
With the previously revealed Mirth mini figure heading into production as we speak, Triplikid has just revealed an even more impressive prototype of the adorable character, a tiny micro-sized version! Designed by Triplikid and digitally sculpted by the guys at Mana Studios, the little guy originally debuting at NYCC last year as a full sized resin figure, with this new addition being shrunk down to a gumball scaled 20mm tall. Due to be produced by an undisclosed source (fingers crossed for rubber!), we’re told to expect Micro Mirth in the Triplikid store soon after the release of the mini… Stay tuned for full release details on both as soon as we get them!
