Screen Shot 2014-01-23 at 15.12.34

Lamour Supreme and the Sucklord have just announced that they will be invading St Marks Comics, NY, next Saturday, February 1st with a whole heap of new toys and original art. Whilst most of the work is still to be revealed, we have been able to catch a glimpse at one collaborative figure in particular, the hilarious Batman mash-up pictured above! Featuring the bootlegged Dark Knight from Sucklord’s Gay Gotham 2 Pack, the 3.75″ figure has been hand cast in resin, coming with a Joker inspired paint job and accompanying art from Lamour. We’re still not too sure if the piece is a one-off or part of a micro run for the event (hopefully the latter!), but we’re guessing you can expect to pay upwards of $125 for the piece. Keep track of both the Lamour and Sucklord IG feeds for more reveals closer to the opening…

Splurrt has just unveiled his latest figure destined for soft vinyl, the provisionally titled Crawling Dragging Skeleton! Inspired by 80’s toy line Ma-Ba Zombies, the crazy looking sculpt adopts a similar approach in design to the iconic mini figures- scrapping the bottom half of the character in favour of just a head, torso and arms! Standing roughly the same height as the Cadaver Kid at around 4″ tall (although considerably larger in scale), the medium sized figure should hopefully be making it’s way over to Japan for production soon. Be sure to keep track of Splurrt’s blog right here for all the latest developments…

MAN-E-UPDATE// The Uamou x Mogu Tanks from Peter Kato…

IMG_9890

Whilst we briefly covered the Uamou x Mogu-Tanks earlier in the week, creator Peter Kato has very kindly shared some extra details on the incredible collaboration! “[The idea of a revised] Mogu Tank was born back in NYCC 2013, whereby Matt from Onell design had suggested that the tank base should have a driver head- At the time it never dawned on me that the feature was needed to give the Mogu (mole) piece a more secure fit! As I was re-engineering the piece for my new base (with a sculpted Army Jack styled driver planned), Ayako Takagi contacted me kindly asking for a Studio Uamou batch of Mogu-Tanks. At that time I had suggested to add an Uamou emblem to the tank face which she was very excited about, and so I asked for some time to complete the project, and possibly take the driver head idea a little further.

IMG_9938

Well, after many fruitless nights in the studio throughout December, Peter finally found a way in which he could incorporate the extra design feature- by not only including a driver, but a full figure that could be completely removed from the vehicle as well! Going back to the tank track base’s digital sculpt, a horned Uamou logo was embossed on the front first, whilst a 3cm inlay and 1cm wide hole were added to the top for the tiny driver to sit. Joined by a micro sized Uamou digitally sculpted specifically for the release, the Mogu (mole) piece was then finally retooled by hand to accommodate the figure’s extra head (horn!) room… Due for release exclusively at Studio Uamou in the near future, a number of different runs have been planned, including a batch of one-offs, an “Apple” green and red, and our favourite, a keshi-gomu flesh! Each coming with a micro Uamou hand painted by Ayako herself, the little guys will be up for grabs at just 3,500yen a set. Keep an eye on the Studio Uamou IG feed here for news on the release soon…

Limited to a batch of 20 figures for the first release, each is due to come painted, weathered and rusted in the artist’s signature style for just $25 a piece. An exact release date is still to be confirmed, so be sure to keep an eye on Rose’s IG feed here for the full lowdown soon…
