The guys over at Awesome Toy have just unveiled an early sculpt for their debut sofubi, FAKE BARON! Heavily inspired by a collection of Pachi (bootleg) Red Baron menko cards from the 70’s, the awesome figure is already starting to take shape, featuring the iconic ‘bots signature winged ears and riveted belt. MAN-E-NEWS// The Cosmos Alien Ooze-Ball and Claw set revealed…
With the launch of the Disarticulators‘ Ooze-Claw display stand in just a couple of days time, we’ve decided to unveil one of the many surprises that’ll be accompanying the drop… the “Cosmos Alien” Ooze set! Taking direct inspiration from the original Cosmos Alien (Ooze-It gachapon bootleg) print ad, the Ooze-Ball has been cast in a similar dark green with a silver marble, whilst the Claw has been treated to a solid orangey red that matches the plug accessory. Limited to an edition of just 5 this time around, each set is due to come packed with an exclusive Cosmos header for $40 plus shipping. Look out for them alongside the Claws this Wednesday, January 15th at 9pm London time in the Man-E-Toys store!

It’s the Monday after Superfestival, so we all know what that means… a fully stocked Rampage Toys store! Currently being added to as I type this, the list of leftovers so far include a number of customs (including THAT Shark Fighter mash-up!), Goto-san painted Cyclops Dinos and Manotaurs, “squishy” My Little Unicorn micros, Imps and Monsters blind box plushes, plus the last of our very own Hawaii Version Ooze-Balls! With prices ranging between $9-$120 plus shipping, we suggest heading over to the store quick to get the best pick of the bunch- as with most Rampage sales, we can’t see this little lot hanging around for long!

Medicom Toy have teamed up with Japanese toy store Gankingu for the latest exclusive Cosmos Alien colourway! Part of Medicom’s ongoing reissue of the infamous Ooze-It gachapon bootlegs, both Alien A and Alien B mini figures are up for grabs, coming cast in a squishy purple vinyl with metallic purple sprays this time around. Packed in an authentic gacha box with both collectors card and face plugs, the pair are currently available to Japanese customers through the Gankingu store right here for just 2,940yen ($24) each plus shipping. Customers in the West are going to need to contact a forwarding to secure a set- although we suggest acting quick as these most certainly won’t be hanging around for long!

Known for his exquisitely detailed latex masks, Atomic Vomit has teamed up with both Lamour Supreme and Skinner for two of his best creations yet! First up we have the Cyco Simon Yeti. Based on the original Cyco Simon mask, the latest version features the same base design, this time around coming with an altered mouth sculpt, additional facial hair, plus a new icy blue skin tone. Available in super-limited numbers, the mask can be found in the Atomic Vomit here for $300 plus shipping… Next we have the Cos-Maw-Naut. Again based on an older design, this time Skinner’s Twisting Maw, the super creepy three-eyed beast has been treated to a slime green colourway, coming complete with a full head of white flowing locks. The guys over at Angel Abby have just revealed a whole swathe of releases that they’ll be bringing along to Superfestival 64 tomorrow! Kicking things off with their 2014 New Year Lucky Bag, each is set to come randomly packed with a unpainted, marbled vinyl Uchukyojin, one middle sized figure and one small figure for just 10,000yen ($96) each. As well as the bags, Angel Abby have also teamed up with Purple Toys for the latest release of Agent Sayaraku (Three Eyes Tiger). Cast in an orange soft vinyl for the release, the 7″ tall figure has been painted by AA’s Andy in a mix of vibrant neon and metallic sprays, coming in at just 10,000yen ($96) each. Last up we have the latest run of Scott Tolleson’s Deadbeet sofubi. Available in both painted and unpainted form, the soft vinyl figures have been priced at just 7,000yen ($67) and 6,000yen ($58) respectively… Here’s hoping that any leftovers make it to the Angel Abby store next week!

Teased here as a wax proto back in November, Brian Bunting is proud to reveal that the latest Galaxy People figure will be debuting at Superfestival 64 tomorrow! Entitled “Sensorbat”, the figure is said to be the series’ first bad guy, coming with a similar pachi inspired “arms up” design, a speaker styled chest (presumably for shooting ultra sonic rays!) and a rather sinister 3-eyed bat head. Cast up in a black soft vinyl with metallic blue, red and silver sprays, Sensorbat will be up for grabs at booth A2 for an estimated 2,500yen- here’s hoping a few make it to the online store soon after!

Teased here a couple of weeks back, the latest addition to Star Case‘s ever growing Space Convoy series has finally been revealed in full! Inspired by Star Wars’ Boba Fett, “Scum Hunter” features the same loose, bootleg-styled sculpting that we’ve all come to know and love, this time around with a removable mask, droid and Han Solo heads, plus a mystery General Grievous bonus thrown in for good measure! Cast in a blue soft vinyl with Fett’s signature grey, green, red and yellow markings for this first outing, Scum Hunter will be touching down in the Star Case store for a 48 hour period starting January 23rd. Pricing is still to be confirmed, but we’re guessing the figure will come in at around 6,000-7,000yen ($58-$67) plus shipping…

One of the few artists that really helped push the custom kinkeshi scene to the forefront in 2013, Nama Niku has just revealed finished concepts for a fully fledged Kinnikuman-inspired sofubi! Originally created as an entry for October Toys’ upcoming OMFG Series 5, the design has been styled on Nama’s popular Top Rope mini figure, coming with the same branded wrestling ring torso, albeit with 4 muscle bound arms instead of 2! Currently taking form as a one-off custom under the title of “IV Corners Battle Royal”, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that the piece proves popular enough for Nama to take the plunge and get it sculpted as an all-new figure soon. MAN-E-NEWS// James Groman’s “Triceratops” Rotten Rexx WIP head sculpt revealed…
Whilst the dust has barely settled since the debut of Rotten Rexx at NYCC last year, creator James Groman has already set about working on an all-new head sculpt! Taking on the form of a triceratops this time around, the unnamed sculpt features the same jaw-dropping scale and detail of the original, coming with wonderfully realised scales, rotting flesh and a menacing expression that’s sure to give old Rexx a run for his money. Still a long way off from production (we’ve got the first painted run of Rexx to come first!), we’ll be keeping a close eye on any further developments over the coming months…

With the debut run selling out in a matter of minutes, Richard Page over at UME Toys is proud to present another batch of adorable GeekWoks! Originally conceived in an illustration for a fan, the uber cute character was transformed by Rich into 3D at the tail end of last year, with the hand sculpted figure standing at around 3.5″ of solid cast resin. Differing slightly from the Wicket inspired original, this new version comes with the same mixture of tight washes and brushed detailing, albeit with a earthy green hood this time around. Limited to an edition of 20, the little guy will be touching down in the UME Toys store this Friday, January 10th at 9pm London time, coming in at just £32 plus shipping…
