Aaron Moreno over at Retroband has worked his magic on yet another cult 80’s horror classic, transforming Motel Hell’s pig-headed Vincent into a fully fledged action figure! Created for Clutter‘s upcoming (In)Action Figure 2 group show, the stunningly executed piece features a kit-bashed and re-sculpted 3.75″ resin figure, pig mask and chainsaw accessory- all wrapped up in a beautifully realised blister backer from Worthy Enemies! Pricing and edition size are still closely guarded at the moment (although we can confirm that a “Battle Damaged” chase will be making an appearance!), so to be in with a chance of bagging one, we suggest signing up to Clutter’s preview list right here for first dibs…

“(In)Action Figures 2,” a group exhibition elevating action figure art, will open on January 11th with a reception from 6-9PM local time and be on display until January 31st, 2014 at The Clutter Gallery, 163 Main St., Beacon, NY 12508.

Joining a whole slew of original sofubi, customs and keshi currently being readied for this Sunday’s Superfestival 64, Jon Malmstedt proudly presents his latest mash-up micro run… the Rampage Toys x Shamrock Arrow Shark Fighter! An ingenious combination of Rampage’s Ugly Unicorn and Shamrock’s Fang, the 5″ tall figures have been cast in a gorgeous blue soft vinyl, coming with a tidy mix of silver sprays and red/gold hand painted detailing. Going on sale at booth A12 for an undisclosed sum, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that at least a couple of these guys will make it to the Rampage store soon after… Stay tuned for more reveals from Rampage later in the week!

With JC Rivera‘s “Real” Bear Champ proving a huge success early last year, the Chicago based artist returns with yet another realistic take on his signature character, and this time he’s in full swing! Rather aptly titled “Attack Mode”, the wonderfully dynamic sculpt appears to be in the same scale as the original, coming in at an impressive 4.5″ of hand cast resin. Due to be making an appearance in the JC Rivera store soon, we can hopefully expect painted versions to come in at around $50, whilst DIY custom blanks should run at $35 (TBC). Joining the Johnny Salami custom bootleg featured last week, the Sucklord and Lamour Supreme have teamed up for another release that’ll be dropping at the Katz Deli x Mishka show tomorrow (7/1), the Tommy Pastrami and Paulie Pickles 2 pack! Featuring a repurposed Johnny in a new meaty brown alongside an all-new vinegar soaked sidekick, the pair of 3.75″ figures have been packed in a one-off set, coming mounted on a deluxe Katz Deli placemat backer with additional art from Lamour Supreme. No news on pricing as of yet, but we suggest heading down to the show’s opening (right next door to Katz) at 7pm if you want any chance of bagging these- they most certainly won’t be hanging around for long!

MAN-E-NEWS// Hip Hop Robot’s updated Franken Molar figure revealed…

Originally revealed as an early work in progress last month, Hip Hop Robot‘s Franken Molar is now just about ready for production! Designed by HHR’s Mark Bentley and sculpted by his better half Maren Seibold, the incredible 5″ tall figure has received numerous changes since we last saw it, including some beautiful Ooze-It inspired textures, a meaner facial expression and the addition of a fully removable “Ooze-Angler” rider! We’re still not completely sure if the piece is fated for resin or sofubi (we’re kind of hoping for both!), so be sure to stay tuned for the full lowdown once the decision has been made soon. Those interested in taking a closer look at the figure, plus HHR’s numerous other ongoing projects, are going to need to head over to the dedicated IG feed right here

Teased here a couple of weeks back, Jesse Destasio‘s latest iteration of Tankhead is now available online! Originally debuting in resin way back in 2010, this new version has been created in collaboration with Eric Nilla, coming cast in a flexible keshi style rubber. Kit-bashed and resculpted from a variety of 3.75″ action figures, the rotund Dark Lord has been cast in a jet black resin, this time around coming complete with 2 points of neo-mag articulation and an oversized, hand cut felt-lined robe. Originally due for release mid-December, Paul Kaiju has just revealed that the absolutely gorgeous “Neopolitain” Boss Carrion will be up for grabs via lottery next weekend. Pricing and edition size are still to be confirmed, although we can reveal that the figure will be joined by another surprise release, MixRee! A mixed part edition of Kaiju’s Frankenruge-inspired Mr Ree, both bunny and turnip versions will be up for grabs in a selection of yellow, blue, red, flesh, clear and GID soft vinyl. Marking a slight change in direction from the artist’s recent bout of kaiju inspired figures, the post-apocalyptic bounty hunter takes on a parred back, comic book aesthetic this time around, standing at around 4.5″ tall and coming complete with 2 points of articulation plus removable combat knife accessory (not pictured). Hand cast in an unpainted teal resin, the Mad Raider has been limited to just 10 pieces for this initial release, coming in at just $35 each plus shipping. Kit-bashed from Sungold’s infamous bootleg line “Monster” and MotU’s Beast-Man, the hilarious resin figure stands at around 4″ tall with 5 points of articulation, coming cast in the beast’s signature orange replete with hand paint detailing. Abell Octovan over at My Royal Ego shares his first work in progress for 2014, the stunning Astro Guy! Depicting Tezuka’s iconic Astro Boy as a fully grown adult (we’ll skip over the fact that humanoids can’t actually age!), the beautifully realised piece features the same signature double-horned hair do, pants and rocket boots, albeit with a chiseled, Buzz Lightyear-esque head and super pumped body! Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys has just revealed that the latest batch of unpainted Gachapon Goblin micros are now available in the One-Up store! Featuring a total of 8 different designs coming from Rampage Toys, Joseph Harmon, Walter Parenton (IV – Bobbybeast creator) and Art Junkie, the little guys have been cast up in a super-squishy pink soft vinyl with a 1/10 green chase. Available to Japanese customers via a virtual gachapon machine for just 500yen a go, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that a run in this new vinyl will be available in the West soon…

It quickly looking like 2014 will be Healeymade’s year, as along with a whole slew of 3.75″ figures planned, the artist will be releasing his latest sofubi… an all-new rendition of Quackula! Based on the original custom bootleg resin, a loving tribute to both Count Duckula and Universal Monsters, the figure has been resculpted by Naoya Ikeda, standing just shy of 7″ tall and coming with 4 points of articulation. Due to be produced in soft vinyl by none other than Gargamel, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for the first release soon- judging by the finished nature of the above shot, we hopefully shouldn’t have too long to wait!
