9970629216_085484f5e0_b

Sparrow is back! Summer is over and he is still feeling the affects of the long days of skateboarding in the sun. He’s rocking that summer Skateburn!

“Unfortunately I (Blurble) was not able to get these over to NYCC in time, but they will be released October 11th 5pm PST on the Blurble store. Limited to only 5, these will be priced at just $30 each… Painted up by Chris aka Schnebbs (schnebbstore.bigcartel.com), the detail on these are amazing- truly pieces of art! But don’t let that stop you from wanting to hang with Sparrow… On a side note, all through the month of October there will be random droppings of custom Sparrows on Blurbleone.com– keep watch on Instagram for more details soon!”

MAN-E-BITESIZE// Skinner x Unbox Industries’ Lolgolth Gnazgoroth NYCC reveal…

LOLLY.STAGE.2

Lolgolth Gnazgoroth the head that holds the horror..
The illuminated one, he who knows the truth of the parallel realm..

“Following the brilliant working relationship we (Unbox Industries) had with Skinner we wanted to keep the momentum and start work on a series of new projects. After some consultation, Skinner proposed a series of characters for a new “Skinner Universe” series. Three characters are already in development for release in 2014 but Lolgolth Gnazgoroth really pushed the Unbox team like never before. “Lolly” took over three months to develop under close consultation with Skinner, the digital model is our most complicated sculpt ever. With nearly 2gb of digital data, Lolly managed to break the state of the art rapid printer we use!

Lolly will be available for pre order online in 2014 but Dan from Unbox will be with Skinner at The Critical Hit booth at NYCC this coming Saturday. Unfortunately we only have a very rough, unfinished PU cast of Lolgolth as we ran out of time & we did not want to risk moving the incredibly expensive rapid print!”

MAN-E-BITESIZE// The Jelly League and Jellyzilla from Selina Briggs…

jellyleague

Selina Briggs of the Jelly Empire will be bringing along 2 new projects to NYCC this week, the Jelly League and Jellyzilla! Specific information on the Jelly League is pretty thin on the ground at the moment, but from what we can gather, this will feature a total of 7 Jellybot customs inspired by numerous DC and Marvel characters including Wolverine, Superman and the Flash. Interested parties are going to need to make the Argonaut Resins booth a priority- regardless of further release info, these most certainly won’t be around for long…

jellyzilla

The Jellyzilla release will be a little different in that it features an all-new Jellybot retooling from Selina. Cast by Argonaut, the cute little kaiju will be limited to just 5 pieces to start with- 3 fully painted and 2 DIY. Celebrating the release, there will also be an accompanying print that’ll be available alongside the mini resins. Again, pricing is still TBC on these, but we’re guessing they’ll be available for around $40 a piece…

MAN-E-NEWS// Man-E-Toys and The Disarticulators at NYCC…

nycc babeee

First off, we’d like to give a massive apology for the lack of posts over the last week or so. On top of preparing a ton of exclusives for the Clutter, Monster Island and Tenacious Toys booths, we’ve also been getting ready to head to the con ourselves! Anyone coming along will be able to find our very own Tru:Tek loitering around the Block (collar him and say hi, there may be a free toy in it for you!), whilst those not attending will be treated to extensive coverage from the con floor over the next 4 days… To kick things off, we proudly present the full lowdown of figures we’ll have on offer throughout the event. Expect details of online sales early next week!

Ooze-Ball// Designed and sculpted by our very own Zectron, the follow-up to the insanely popular Madball of Death pays tribute to yet another cult classic from our misspent childhoods, the Ooze-It doll, featuring the same instantly recognisable ‘nub’ design replicated recently by the likes of Longneck and Target Earth, albeit with the dark, meticulous approach to sculpting that Zectron is quickly becoming known for. Sadly, the fully working “ooze” version is still in the proto stage at the moment (although a couple of display versions will be present), so these have once again been cast in a hard rubber for this release. Available at the Monster Island booth (#504), Ooze-Ball will be available in both standard and bootleg greens, an MI exclusive orange, plus a super-limited purple that Tru:Tek will be backpacking. Priced at $25, edition sizes range between 5-10.

The Critters and Micro Critter Keychains// The Critters inspired mini figures are set to return alongside their new mini companion, the Micro Keychain! Cast in a marbled purple/orange rubber, the pair will be available exclusively from the Clutter booth (#504), limited to just 10 of each this time around. Both have been priced at $15 each.

Madball of Death// As well as the Tenacious Toys exclusive we revealed here last week, we’ve also created a version of the MoD for Monster Island too! Cast in one of our many new rubber stocks, the ball comes in a clear purple this time around- complete with a super-strong GID insert! Priced at $55 each, these have been limited to just 10.

Meadowknight’s A.M.P// Originally debuting at Superfestival last month, Meadowknight’s cast of 4 M.I.M.P style figures will be making an appearance at the Clutter booth in both orange and purple colourways! Available as ‘singles’ this time around, the awesome 1.5″-2″ sculpts come bagged and headed for just $15 each.

Ultimate Disarticulator Pack (not pictured)// Missed out on our huge August sale? Then you’ll be glad to know that ALL of the figures we released in the first half of the year are together again for one big release! Consisting of 1 Kesh-E-Face, 1 Beardfist and 1 full set of Tiny Terrors, the five figures have been cast in a marbled purple/orange rubber. Available for the discounted price of just $75 each, the bagged and headed sets have been limited to 3, available exclusively through the Clutter booth.

But that’s not all! We’ll be bringing along a few surprise releases too, so be sure to keep track of our IG feed here for more details throughout the con…

MAN-E-NEWS// The return of Peter Kato…

IMG_4633

After almost a year away from the art toy scene, our good friend Peter Kato is back with a slew of new releases just in time for NYCC! With a number of exclusives ready for both the Toy Tokyo and Onell Design booths, plus some early online-only pieces, we’re very proud to give you guys a full rundown of what will be on offer later this week…

IMG_4536

Toy Tokyo exclusive Mogu Tank (Mole Tank)// Peter’s main new figure, the Mogu Tank has been created from a mix of digital and hand sculpting, coming cast in 3 separate pieces with the mole fully removable from the tank base. The first of 2 colourways that’ll be made available at the con, the Toy Tokyo exclusive has been painted in a mix of light flesh, baby pink and baby purple. Limited to just 12 pieces, each coming with a hand made box, the Mogu Tanks will be available for just $30 each. Peter reveals a little about the charcater’s background- “He’s a big Mole Kaiju from the earth’s core caverns rescued, recruited into Earth Defence Army. He had been refitted with a cybernetic drill nose & is carried by a tank tread radio controlled by the Army Jacks… He doesn’t drive. Actually all he mostly does is eat & sleep. The Army have a hard time putting him into action because they’re never sure if he’ll be awake to perform the task needed at those crucial moments. Nevertheless he is a strong, powerful ally against the invading Space Army( first shown with Tako-Cubes & Ninja-Robo ).”

IMG_4645

Army Jacks// Showing support for the Mole-Tank come the Army Jacks- “Armed with the task of escorting Mogu-Tank via remote control to the target locations, they are each armed with a flame thrower to protect themselves from any alien invaders during this task.” Digitally sculpted by Peter and cast in a green resin with standing base, the 1″ micro figures will be dropping on the Kato online store this Thursday, October 10th and at the Onell Design booth 4-7pm on Saturday, 1-5pm on Saturday for just $5 a piece.

IMG_4814

Tako-Terrians// They’re back! Originally dropping last year, the Takos return without their Cube-Suits! Cast in a pink resin with a silver highlight painted around the control collar, the chunky 1″ figure will be available online and at the Onell booth, with around 20 being made available for just $10 each.

IMG_4812

Mogu Tank standard edition// As mentioned above, the Mogu Tank will see 2 different colourways released this week. The standard edition has been cast in a bright pink resin with hot pink painted highlights, a grey Drill-Nose and a toy army green Tank-Tread. Limited to around 20 pieces, the figure will be available online and via Onell for just $30 a piece.

IMG_4727

Online exclusives// Celebrating the reopening of his online store, Peter will also have a mini “instagram style” linocut print of the Mogu Tank up for grabs too! Blocked with black archival ink on 3×3 inch vintage news print paper, his first hand printed run is limited to 15 pieces, coming signed in the front & numbered on the back. To be joined by a ton of Mogu Tank buttons come Thursday, pricing on the prints is still TBC…

Whilst we’re guessing the top “Samhain” orange will be reserved for a special Halloween release, we’re more interested to see what happens to the other hand sprayed versions revealed. The Hot Pink with Silver accents certainly suggest that at least one set may be making an exclusive appearance at the Clutter NYCC booth… we guess time will tell next week!

BE_C1200 Background//

The 2068 ‘Law of Awareness’ granted all non human creations the same right as humans themselves, and changed the way the working world existed. The C1200 series (pre 2068) would mainly be seen scutling around your nearest Spaceport on their low friction (but high torque) wheelbase. They were the backbone of the stellar travel industry, as they moved large shipments from the loading zones into the gargantuan space freighters.

For their size they are super strong, acknowledged to be capable of lifting 4000 times their own weight, they are not be trifled with when it comes to moving items, large or small. It really shows on their trusty Toughskin®, they can take a hit.

If you need something moved, and need it moved quickly, you know who to call (fax).

The 2068 ‘Law of Awareness’ granted all non human creations the same right as humans themselves, and changed the way the working world existed. The C1400 series (pre 2068) are found surveying your nearest family Spaceport using their superior visual equipment, keeping an eye on everything which is taking place.

They work closely with the C1200 series on transport jobs by using their additional occular device to pinpoint exactly where items need to be positioned. Not as physcially strong as their friends the C1200 series, they make up for this by being insanely precise.
