TAG owner Gino Joukar has just posted the latest figure to receive an exclusive run courtesy of the LA based gallery, Geek’s Beastman! Originally debuting at the Max Toy Wondefestival booth back in July, the towering beast (referred to as “Jyujin Hinomoto” in the posting) appears to have been cast in a similar black/grey soft vinyl, this time around coming with deep red and orange sprays. Due to be making an appearance in the Toy Art Gallery store at some point next week, Gino has stated that we can expect to pay around $160 plus shipping. Stay tuned for the official press soon…
MAN-E-NEWS// The Nekos custom bootleg keshi from Rampage Toys x Eric Nilla…
As promised in our reveal of Cannibal Gyudome last week, we excitedly bring you yet another collaboration between Rampage Toys and Eric Nilla… the Nekos custom bootleg keshi! Sharing a mutual love for the hugely popular Nelcos Fortress vintage keshi, the pair set about customising a batch of the figures, with Rampage’s Jon Malmstedt sculpting a variety of neko (cat) inspired heads on 5 of the series’ diverse designs. Cast by Eric in a flexible urethane rubber, the set will be debuting alongside Cannibal Gyudome at Superfestival later this month (9/29)… Here’s hoping for an online release soon after!
MAN-E-NEWS// The Metal Mockbats from Paul Kaiju x TAG…
Revealed here last week, Paul Kaiju‘s beautiful Metal Mockbats are set to land in his store soon! Produced by Toy Art Gallery, the figures will be available in the same choice of finishes as their previous metal releases, with bronze, gold and silver plated versions up for grabs. Coming replete with full articulation in the arms, legs and head, the little guys even feature a stomach plate with belly button hinge that can be opened to reveal their innards! An exact release date is still forthcoming, so be sure to stay tuned for news on pricing, editions sizes and dates/times soon…

Tone Tank proudly presents his latest custom bootleg release, Batmono! Half man, half bat, half ape, and with a seemingly super-human power to defy mathematics (!), the figure was originally created as a one-off piece for a recent show, now seeing the light of day as a fully fledged resin figure. Inspired by a trip to Mexico, Batmono follows a similar aesthetic to Tone Tank’s original figure “Space Gorilla”, featuring intentionally crude sculpting, a simple black and white paint scheme, plus the all-important yellow vinyl cape- a common staple of all the best bootlegs from south of the border! Whilst we rather impatiently wait for our shipments of Zollmen‘s second run of Zofbie minis, DLux kindly fills the gap with a custom micro run of figures from the first run! Featuring 6 of the 3″ tall, soft vinyl cast zombies, each has been hand sprayed and brushed by DLux, complete with ample amounts of splattered blood, open wounds and an insatiable appetite for brains… Up for grabs in the DLux store right here, the ‘infected’ have been priced at just $25 each plus shipping.

Originally debuting at the Dragatomi SDCC booth in an unpainted black, Frank Mysterio‘s incredible Anticristo 666 sofubi finally sees it’s first general release later today! Designed by Mysterio and sculpted by Chauskoskis, the 3 headed beast will be available in 3 different variations; an unpainted white edition of 10, plus micro painted runs of 5 in both black and white. Priced at just $70 each plus shipping, the figures will be up for grabs via the Mysterio blog and IG feed at some point over the next few hours… Be sure to check back frequently as they won’t be hanging around for long!

Grizlli Atom has teamed up with Toys Are Sanity‘s Coma21 for the release of his debut sofubi mini series, The Old Ones! Consisting of 3 mini figures and 4 omakes (micros), the 7 figures, designed and sculpted solely by Grizlli, have been inspired by Marvel’s legendary artist Jack Kirby, including stunning kaiju interpretations of the Hulk, Goom and the Thing amongst others. Teased alongside a whole host of other projects last month, Rich over at Mutant Vinyl Hardcore has just revealed the latest WIP shot of his highly anticipated “Mech” figure! Designed by Rich and currently being sculpted by Monster Worship‘s Monster5 under his direction, the figure is due to come with 2 different head sculpts, standing at around 8″ of mechanised soft vinyl once complete. With an estimated release set for early 2014, we’ll be keeping a close eye on this tantalising project as it develops over the coming months…

Acolorfulmonster has teamed up with Baltimore’s Novelty Haus for the debut of his latest resin kaiju beast, the Chimeron! Entitled the “Glacier” edition, the initial run has been cast in a mix of clear blue and white parts, standing at an impressive 6″ tall with 4 points of articulation at the head, waist and arms. Limited to a run of 10 with one alternate head “chase” (check him out in the back row!), the “Glacier” Chimeron army will be touching down in the Novelty Haus store today (9/14) at 5pm EST. The fine chaps over at Goodleg Toys are proud to present the third figure in the ongoing War on Prehis line, Death Drone! Kit-bashed and re-sculpted from various 5.5″ action figures, the humanoid protagonist has been cast up in 3 different colourways for the initial release; Opaque Green, Translucent Green, and Glow in the Dark! All handmade by the Death himself, each Drone comes bagged and headed with a copy of the first WoP mini comic whilst stocks last. Nama Niku and Eric Nilla continue their recent onslaught of genre defining collaborations with their latest custom keshi… the Cannibal Gyudome! A hilarious follow-up to Nama’s original Gyodome keshi (featured here last year), the bowl headed figure has been co-created alongside none other than Rampage Toys‘ Jon Malmstedt, coming with a ton of additional sculpting on top of a vintage kinkeshi figure. Cast by Eric in a flexible urethane rubber, the little guy will hopefully be making an appearance at Superfestival later this month (9/29), with an online release soon after… Stay tuned for news of Rampage and Eric’s other custom keshi project, NEKOS, this weekend!

Every year Spy Monkey Creations have been kind enough to donate a few of their custom MOTUC weapons for the Power-Con Charity Auction… Well this year’s a little different, as the guys have teamed up with Glyos painter extraordinaire Ersico for a custom MOTU-inspired run of Weaponers of Monkaa figures! Limited to just 4 one-off designs; Battle Hardened Eternal Barbarian, Pal-At-Arms, Skeletron and Beast Brute, each Glyos-compatible figure has been custom built by Spy Monkey’s Jeremy, with super-tight factory style paint jobs from Ersico. Up for auction on-site and via the Power-Con website starting tomorrow (9/14) at 3.30pm, interested parties are going need to register here before hand… Good luck!

One more day closer to Power-Con and we’re treated to yet another exclusive reveal from ManOrMonster? Studios, this time around coming in the form of the latest Warlords of Wor protagonists… the twisted abomination of science, Beastor-9, and mysterious mystic upstart, Arkannis! Originally teased as test casts a while back, the pair have since been hand cast and painted by MoM’s Brandon Barker, coming with a whopping 10 points of WoW compatible neo-mag joints. Available at the con in limited numbers for $100 a piece, Brandon has stated that every toy purchased will also come with $20 booth credit which can be applied to MoM’s wide range of merch, including t-shirts, comics, art prints and even the new Weelords Minis! With Superfestival just around the corner, Rob over at Triclops Studio shares an early WIP custom that we can only assume will be making an appearance at Rampage Toys‘ booth… the B.A.S.T.A.R.D Riders! A hilarious homage to cult 80’s cartoon/toy line Dino Riders, the piece is set to feature Rampage’s Ankylo Cyclops Dino sofubi with a retooled Ballock B.A.S.T.A.R.D at the helm- hopefully stocked to the brim with weaponry in a custom built saddle! We’ll be keeping a close eye on the project as we get closer to Superfestival later this month (September 29th), so be sure to stay tuned for a full reveal soon!

Following the small glimpse we recieived a few weeks back, Mark Nagata of Max Toy Co has just revealed new images of the highly anticipated Kaiju Tanks! Originally available as a Japan-only release last month, the awesome design is currently undergoing some last minute revisions before heading into full production. Set to come with 3 removable turrets that are compatible with both Max Toy minis and micros, we can look forward to a whole heap of releases, both painted and blank, in the near future. Mini figure customiser Rick Dries aka PlasticPlayhouse has teamed up with Eric Nilla for the release of his latest figure, the custom Utron keshi! Based on the brain-like aliens in TMNT (the most infamous being Krang!), Dries has opted for an aesthetic similar to Neca’s rendition, going for a minimal, stylised approach much more in-keeping with traditional keshi. Cast by Nilla in a super-limited run of flesh-toned rubber for PP’s personal collection, here’s hoping for a general release at some point in the near future…

Originally revealed as a 3D print prototype last month, ManOrMonster? Studio‘s mini Bog-Nar has been revealed in a ‘chase’ UV/GID colourway that’ll be up for grabs at Power Con over the weekend! Taken from the forthcoming “Weelord Mini” series, a miniaturised, 2″ scale line that’ll run alongside Warlords of Wor, the cute little guy has been digitally sculpted by HamFX, coming cast in resin by MoM’s Brandon Barker using both Hombrew Paint GID dye and SmoothOn Ignite pigments. We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for an online release soon after the event, but in the meantime, be sure to keep an eye on the MoM IG feed here for more con exclusives throughout the week…

Having seen a trickle of super-limited releases over the past couple of weeks, Splurrt‘s latest monstrosity, the Cadaver Twins, are finally ready for their first official painted run! Rather appropriately named the “Watermelon Chewing Gum” edition, this batch have been cast in a neon green soft vinyl complete with neon pink/purple sprays (inc. 2 blue Freezer Pop chases!) and hand painted detailing. Standing at around 5″ tall with 5 points of articulation, the Twins will be landing in-store this Saturday, September 14th for $110 plus shipping. After quite literally years on the drawing board, the legendary James Groman‘s Rotten Rex sofubi is finally ready to rear it’s ugly head! A true master of his craft, Groman has worked on countless animation, illustration & toy design projects in his lifetime, including MadBalls, Monster Hunter, Sushi Pack and Bela Lugosi’s: Tale from the Grave comics, with his latest comic, Rotten Rex, forming the basis for this truly monstrous release… With a full debut planned for NYCC next month, Groman has teamed up with Lulubell Toys to offer a special preview drop whereby they’ll be offering up the huge sofubi figure’s head along with a paper plaque designed by the artist! Priced at just $40 plus shipping, the head will be touching down in the Lulubell store this Friday 13th at 11am PST… But wait, there’s more! Lucky purchasers of the figure will also be given the chance to enter the Rotten Rexx custom competition. Full details will be included with the figure, but we’re told that customs must be posted on Instagram/e-mailed with the hashtag #rottenrexx by October 1st to enter… First place winner will have their design immortalised in a painted run, whilst also receiving a copy of the beast, a poster and comic!
