Originally sculpted way back at the beginning of the year, Splurrt‘s breathtaking Skull of Abel is finally seeing the light of day courtesy of Monster Island! Standing at a rather lofty 4″ tall, the crushed skull has been rotocast in a white resin for this pictured test shot, with a limited batch to follow soon. News on the release are still thin on the ground at the moment, but we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for a painted release at the Monster Island NYCC booth next month… Keep track of Splurrt’s IG feed here for more details soon!

The Galaxy People are proud to reveal that they’ll be attending Superfestival later this month with an exclusive batch of figures! Based on the iconic vintage Pachi figures, the 3 awesome ‘arms up’ sculpts; Meklops, The Grappler and Helios, stand at around 115mm tall with 2 points of articulation, this time around coming cast in a GID soft vinyl with minimal neon and metallic sprays. Priced at just 2,500yen (approx $25) each, the figures will be up for grabs at an undisclosed booth come the show’s opening on September 29th, with any remaining stock heading to the online store soon after…

The mighty Skinner turns his hand to the world of custom bootlegs once more, revealing his latest piece, the Cthulhu Knight! Featuring a ton of Lovecraftian tentacles sculpted on top of a battle damaged vintage knight figure, the awesome creation is due to come cast in resin by none other than LiLJAPAN’s Oni Creations (producers of Kozik’s most recent resins). If you have even the slightest interest in UME Toys you’ll know they LOVE Halloween, so to kick things off early, the guys will be unleashing an all-new addition to the ever growing family this week… The Grump! Inspired by Michael Dougherty’s Samhain character from cult horror classic Trick ‘R Treat, the mischievous little guy stands at around 3.5″ tall, coming hand cast and painted by UME’s Richard Page in a faithful mix of hessian brown and red. Limited to just 13 pieces, each coming signed and packed with a collectors card, The Grump will be touching down in the UME store this Friday 13th at 9am London time for £28 plus shipping…

Following the success of both Wave 1 and 2, JR Deem aka Super Sandbagger‘s post-apocalyptic mini series “Wastelanders” returns with 2 all-new sculpts! In a nod to the original release, Sandbagger has returned to the line’s central characters, Skorplok and Chibbs, with the new “Evolved” and “Bagglorite General” variants coming with a number of awesome additions and revisions. Joining over 50 of the art toy scene’s finest in celebrating Toy Art Gallery‘s fourth year in existence, Bob Conge aka Plaseebo kindly shares his entry for the Anniversary Custom Show, the Battle Damaged Pollen Kaiser! Coming with head armor removed for repairs, Paul Kaiju’s 10″ sofubi has been split into 2 pieces for this custom, the body section featuring wire jutting out from the bottom, whilst the legs have been fitted with Plaseebo’s signature resin-cast brain. Finished with a stunning burnt neon paint scheme, inset doll eyes and motion activated LED units in both parts, this one of a kind piece will be up for grabs at the show’s opening on September 14th… Stay tuned for more reveals soon!

The warped mind of Elegab spews forth yet another must-have kaiju, as he proudly presents construction site monster KOUZIRA… Standing around the same height as Wars Gon (approx. 9″), the breathtaking figure combines the ulikely worlds of kaiju and construction toys to dizzying effect, featuring numerous bulldozers, a quarry pile for a head and digger tracks for feet! Originally set for release alongside Paul Kaiju’s Asbestora and Splurrt’s Usir as the latest DX, Mutant Vinyl Hardcore‘s Flying Freak has since mutated into an all-new stand alone figure! Featuring an ingenious 2-sided design (Banshee Mouth and Eyesore) that can be displayed both ways, the winged head sculpt now has a sweet new pair of legs much more in-keeping with the rest of the design. As part of the ongoing “Mega Sale” revealed earlier in the week, 1Shot Toys‘ Eric Villanueva has been dropping a number of secret figures throughout the weekend, our favourite so far coming in the form of these awesome Sgt Zombie Angus’! Raised from the corpse pile by none other than Clawfreak, the pair of rubber-cast figures have been kit-bashed with S.L.U.G Zombie parts, coming in a meticulous blend of zombie-green washes and blood splattered detailing. Priced at just $20 each, the pair can be found in the 1Shot Toys store alongside a whole host of other goodies (including the original Sgt Angus below!) right here

MAN-E-NEWS// Blurble’s Swampy and Gusto in Space…

Mike Marinello aka Blurble is proud to present not 1, but 2 new releases heading to his store later this week! First up we have Swampy… Designed and sculpted by Blurble, with production duties handed over to Dubose Art, the little guy stands at around 2.5″ tall, coming cast in a red/yellow swirled resin complete with ‘Moon Tea’ glass. Limited to an edition of 8 this time around, Swampy will be up for grabs starting Thursday, September 12th at 3pm PST for just $17 plus shipping…

“Swampy is one of the many Swamp Kids who hang out at the local Swamp park in the town of Honey Island. Swampy never leaves home without his trusty Moon Tea Glass which is usually filled with swamp gas and tea. He loves pouring toxic acid on bugs and scaring the local kids with his fart sounds. But the dude is loyal to the swamps and will be there to back any of his swamp pals if there is ever a brawl or something.” 

Next up, we have the long awaited arrival of the “Gustos in Space” artist proofs! A collaboration between Blurble and our very own Tru:Tek, the little guys were originally designed by Blurble, sculpted by Rampage Toys and then reduced by Tru:Tek to fit the Bio-Drone ship. Cast in a mix of pink and black urethane rubber with a clear plastic dome, the figures have been limited to just 7 at $23 a piece. Expect to see them in-store alongside Swampy this coming Thursday!

As promised yesterday, we’re proud to present a full photo recap of the NNWA Keshi Event opening! Hosted by Nama Niku at the Rampage Studios shop/gallery space, the show played host to some of the hottest indie keshi figures right now, including exclusives from Eric Nilla, Ironhaus, the Disarticulators and of course Nama Niku himself. As if that wasn’t enough, the huge line-up of purchasable figures were also joined by retrospective displays of Rampage Toys and Nama’s extensive keshi back catalogs, new Kinnikuman t-shirt designs from Art Junkie, custom painted DEKA, plus previews of both Mokyukeshi‘s Moqkeshi series (featured below) and the Deka Manzilla H.U.S.T.L.E! Running at the gallery right throughout the weekend (11am-4pm), online sales will commence in-store at some point on Monday, September 9th… Keep track of the Rampage Instagram feed here for exact details soon!

One of the many highlights of the show, Mokyukeshi‘s upcoming Moqkeshi series should hopefully be ready for general release soon. Consisting of 4 ingenious designs; Pillow Talk (TBC), the Silicagel, the Watering Can, an our favourite, Tagman, the figures have been cast in a flesh toned, injection moulded rubber, coming bagged with a simple header card. Likely to be making an appearance at Superfestival later this month, expect the full lowdown as soon as we get the word…

As massive fans of the original one-off sculpt last year, it wasn’t a question of whether we’d be adding UME Toys‘ Scamwave to the Man-E-Toys collection, just what colour it’d be in! Opting to stray from the OG “Battle Damaged Blue” and choose something a little more in-line with our own figures, we settled on a killer “Stealth Mode” black, coming complete with the usual battle damage plus some rather eye catching hot pink accents… AWESOME! Up for grabs in the standard BD Blue through the UME Toys store right here, the £135 figure should be available for more custom requests soon. Ahead of a full show recap, we bring you yet another exclusive release for Nama Niku‘s NNWA Keshi Event, Rampage Toys‘ “Flying Cake” garage kit! Featuring the awesome Cupcake Keshi Plane, originally cast in a urethane rubber by our very own Tru:Tek, the blank flesh figure comes with 2 points of neo-mag articulation, a wooden base and repurposed nail… just ripe for a custom paint job! Sadly the pictured version is just for display at the moment, but we’re sure if you ask Jon nicely (and of course have a Cupcake Plane to spare!), he’ll be more than happy to create a similar piece… Opening it’s doors at Rampage Studios earlier today, expect the full lowdown on the NNWA Keshi Event tomorrow!

Teaming up together for the very first time, mighty mini figure customisers Ersico and Glyog are proud to present a gargantuan custom Glyos drop! Featuring a dizzying array of custom builds, third party resin casts and 80’s toy mash-ups, the line-up of 15 figures were originally conceived by Glyog, with the majority of painting and finishing carried out by Ersico. Due to touch down in the Ersico store this coming Monday, September 9th at 9.30pm EST, expect to pay around $25-$50 per figure… But that’s not all! Well aware that they’ll be dropping their figures a day after the next official Glyos release, the guys have decided to offer up the above Decepti-Suck custom to one lucky purchaser! Anyone spending over $25 during the sale will be granted an entry for the giveaway, with every additional $25 receiving another. Teased here as near finished sculpts last week, Meadowknight is proud to reveal her latest line-up of minis in full! Due to be the first batch of figures under Meadow’s new A.M.P (Amusing Mini Paranormals) brand, the unlikely bunch consists of Big Rad Wolf (the line’s central character), Alien Ghost Worm, Beast Blossom (originally DandyLion) and our favourite, the Nickelodeon-esque King Crumpet. Making their way over the pond as we speak, our very own Tru:Tek will be in charge of rubber production for the project, with a debut of all 4 figures planned for NYCC in October. Not into rubber? Utilising Onell Design’s Pheydon Finger5 figure, Hellopike has painted up 5 mixed blanks, each coming in a unique blend of super-bright sprays, detail hugging black rubs and hand painted detailing. Having missed out on both OG and SDCC versions at retail, it came with great pleasure today to find that Japanese Star Wars fan site/store Star Case are set to release the awesome R2 sofubi again… this time in clear vinyl! Revealed on the official Star Case IG feed earlier today, the loving homage to R2D2 is set to feature the same modular pieces of the original, including 4 head sculpts, 2 attachments and even a mini pilot nestled in the body! Estimated to have a price tag of around 6300yen (approx. $63), keep your eyes peeled for preorder details on the Star Case site soon…

This Saturday, September 7th, Splurrt will be heading to the FOE gallery for the release the first run of Usir/Cadaver Kid mash ups! Cast up in what appears to be a tan/flesh soft vinyl, the super-limited batch of figures have been lavished with a number of metallic, brown, red and peach sprays. Available from the gallery space starting 4pm, Splurrt will also be bringing along a number of Cadaver one-offs- so if you’re in the area, make sure you swing by and say hi! We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for leftovers on the FOE store next week…

Following an intense few weeks in the UME Toys resin lab, Richard Page is proud to announce that his latest masterpiece, the breathtaking Scamwave, is finally up for grabs! Based on Rich UME’s one-off Soundwave sculpt created last year, the stunning 8″ tall Transformers trubute consists of a whopping 13 different hand cast parts and 9 points of articulation. Due to the huge amount of work required to finish each piece, the initial run has been limited to just 5, each coming hand painted in the OG Soundwave inspired “Battle Damaged Blue”.
