MAN-E-NEWS// The Steregon 2.0 keshi from NerdOne…
Joining the stacks of sofubi, kaiju and resin kits up for grabs yesterday, Wonder Festival also played host to a number of new keshi releases, with one of the most interesting coming in the form of NerdOne‘s revised Steregon mini… Almost identical to the original 2.5″ sculpt, the latest version now comes with a grasping left hand (as with the full sized kaiju version) that can be used to hold the 2 headed beast’s new club accessory! Injection moulded in PVC rubber, the figure was up for grabs from the Paralyzing Toys booth in the standard flesh, green, red and blue colourways. Packed in a vintage-style gacha box featuring art from Ralph Niese, the little guys were being sold for 2,500yen (approx. $25) each. MAN-E-XCLUSIVE// The Disarticulators’ new premium rubber option…
After months of experimentation in the Disarticulators lab, we can finally reveal the new premium rubber that we will be introducing to all of our toy lines starting from next month! Unfortunately (for us at least!) the stuff is quite a bit more dificult to work with, but the upside is that a number of problems arising with our current medium have been totally eliminated. Here’s a quick rundown of what you can expect…
Non-Tear Formula// Whilst our current rubber offers a level of playability not possible with resin, it is by no means as durable as standard mini figure PVCs. The new premium option goes a long way in rectifying this, offering a super-strong finish that is much harder to tear than before.
UV Resistant// Unlike our standard rubber which ideally needs to be displayed out of direct sunlight to reduce discolouration, the new supply is 100% UV resistant. Neons will stay bright, solid colours won’t fade, and most importantly, flesh won’t yellow!
Clear Base// Clear figures have always been out of the question in the past, but the new stock comes crystal clear to begin with. Not only does this open up the possibility of c-thru casts, but a completely neutral base will also mean truer colours and shades!
We’ll be introducing the new rubber starting next month, so if you’re interested to find out how this will affect pricing and availability, be sure to stay tuned for the full lowdown soon…
MAN-E-NEWS// The Big Rad Wolf mini figure from Meadowknight…
Known for her intricately detailed pendants and resin sculptures, Meadowknight has (luckily for us!) decided to concentrate her efforts on the mini figure scene, with her latest effort, the awesome Big Rad Wolf, now awaiting production! Originally created as an entry for OMFG Series 5, the beautifully sculpted keshi-scale figure is now due to come cast in resin by none other than Eric Villanueva of 1Shot Toys. With a number of different versions planned including hand paints and GID’s, Big Rad Wolf should be hitting Meadowknight’s store for around $20-$35 in the near future. Keep track of the dedicated October Toys thread here for all the latest developments…
MAN-E-NEWS// Ghost Cave Ape 1st painted run at Wonder Festival…
Hot off the heals of it’s debut showing at SDCC last week, Mishka‘s latest kaiju creation, the 2-headed Ghost Cave Ape, will be making an appearance at Wonder Festival in it’s first painted run! Designed by Lamour Supreme and sculpted by Atomic Vomit, the humungous 13″ beast has been cast in a brown soft vinyl, painted in a simple mix of flesh, red, silver and black sprays with white detailing. Specific release details are still pretty scarce, but we’re guessing that a super-limited supply will be on offer for around $150+. Keep track of the Mishka/Lamour IG feeds for more info soon!
MAN-E-NEWS// The Wonderfestival exclusive Rampage Kowailla and Suity Chan…

The latest in a long line of collaborations with Australian-based Hints and Spices, Jon has tackled 5 of each of the sofubi minis, giving Kowailla a tropical mix of neon fades, Suity, a rather more subdued black, flesh and aqua. Up for grabs at the Paralyzing Toys Wonfesu booth (8-28-09) alongside works from Fig-Lab, Galaxy People, Pop Soda, Refreshment, NerdOne, Shamrock Arrow and Dr. Strangetoys (what a line up!), any remaining stock will be dropping on the Rampage Toys store early next week…
MAN-E-NEWS// Plaseebo’s Mummy Julius for the Julius Toy Art Show…
Marking Paul Smith’s iconic mascot Julius’ leap into 3D vinyl form, Toy Art Gallery will play host to a number of customs from the art toy/low brow scene’s finest next month, the latest to be revealed coming from none other than Bob Conge aka Plaseebo… Entitled Mummy Julius, the rather macabre take on the super-cute monkey figure offers a wonderful contrast, featuring a mix of grimy hand cut rag, a gruesome skull-head sculpt, plus Conge’s usual array of faded sprays and hand brushed weathering. Displaying alongside a huge selection of other customs at the Julius Toy Art Show’s opening on August 3rd, any remaining pieces will be available online soon after…
