Toy Mafia (\ˈtȯi mä-fē-ə\)
Noun.
An organized international body of designer toy collectors, originally founded in NYC. Toy Mafia events take place monthly and are often associated with exclusive releases and excessive partying.

With June’s Toy Mafia opening it’s doors later today, the guys over at Clutter are proud to present the remaining 3 exclusives that’ll be available at Concrete NYC from 8pm onwards! Featuring a diverse mix of custom bootlegs, sofubi and mini figures, we bring you the full rundown of what lucky attendees can expect…

Bombermat Toys’s Cthulhu Warrior// Argentinian based Bombermat Toys, creator of the infamous Shit Wars custom bootleg line, have graced Toy Mafia with an exclusive edition of 10 “Cthulhu Warrior” figures. Kit-bashed from vintage Cthulhu and Conan the Barbarian, the H.P. Lovecraft inspired beasts has been cast in resin, coming hand painted by the artist. Bubble packed on a single-sided thick cardboard backer card, each figure has been signed and numbered, complete with Bombermat Toys sticker.

Butcherbrand’s Megara// Butcherbrand’s popular kaiju turtle beast Megara will be making an appearance tonight in an exclusive micro run of just 5 figures! Standing 3.5″ tall, the black soft vinyl cast piece has been sprayed in a gorgeous mix of green and purple… While not exclusive to Toy Mafia, Clutter will also have a small handful of Megara pieces hand-painted by Velocitron on specially cast hot pink sofubi (featured here earlier in the week).

Monster Island’s Mighty Joe Young// Toy Mafia regular Monster Island is proud to present JUNIOR, a mini version of the barbarous beast Mighty Joe Young! Inspired by the classic Ray Harryhausen stop motion animation, this resin cast creation is small enough to fit in your pocket with a personality big enough to scare your kids! Limited to 7 pieces cast in smokey black resin, a select few feature a color-fade from the feet up. Each gorilla comes with a unique colourway of the micro hostage and is packaged with a vintange inspired header card.

MAN-E-NEWS// Skinner’s Mansons of the Universe: Charlor Rises custom bootleg for SDCC ’13…

Having previously worked with the likes of ManOrMonster? Studios and Galaxxor on a number of neo-vintage figure releases, the legendary Skinner finally throws his hat into the ring with his first ever custom bootleg release… Mansons of the Universe: Charlor Rises! Based on the infamous criminal Charles Manson, the hilarious figure has been kit-bashed from a vintage MOTU 5.5″, featuring an all-new life like head sculpt (complete with face tattoo!). Cast in resin with cloth cape, wrist guards and plastic medallion, each figure has been given a unique blend of psychedelic sprays, adorned with black, hand drawn symbology. Due to come packed in a ‘nice ass’ blister, the figures will be making their debut at DKE’s SDCC both next month for $150 each… Stay tuned for the official reveal soon!

MAN-E-NEWS// WOTU Series 2 “Soda Pop” edition from Goodleg Toys…

Fresh from the success of Dead DieBia$e & Co, the guys over at Goodleg Toys are proud to present their 2nd Series of Wrestlers of the Universe (WotU) figures, introducing Moneybash, Mermaniac, and the 2-Badders tag team, Nuke & Clutch! Once again kit-bashed from iconic 90s WWF and 80s MotU action figures, this initial batch, rather aptly titled the ‘Soda Pop’ edition, has been cast in a mix of translucent exhilirant colours. Priced at just $35 each or $120 for a set of 4, each figure comes packed with a header card from the legendary Ralph Niese. Preorders start this Sunday, at Midnight GMT+1 on the Goodleg store right here… Supply is said to be super-limited, so WotU fanboys better be fast if they want to get their fingers on these rad colourways!

The mighty Ersico serves up another 2 slices of custom Glyos perfection, as he proudly presents his latest pair of Crayboths… Finner and Sawhawk! Featuring a ton of additional sculpting including extra weaponry (check out that chained mace!) and stunning, embellished finned backs, the duo have been painted in Ersico’s unmistakable weathered style, using a mixture of metallics, washes and orange highlights with a subtle clear coat finish. Priced at an unbelievably cheap $17 each plus shipping, the fully articulated Finner and Sawhawk can be found on the Ersico store right here…

MAN-E-NEWS// The ‘Darth’ NitroBall from Muscle Things revealed…

With the swathe of GPK customs and B.U.F.F releases recently, we were beginning to wonder if Muscle Things‘ promising NitroBall project would remain on the drawing board… Well fear not! As not only do we have confirmation that the series is still in development, but MT’s Alec has also revealed a second figure- the awesome Dark Lord inspired Darth! As with the originally featured ‘Hollywood’ (pictured right), the little 1″ wide ball has been digitally sculpted in Sculptris, 3D printed and then cast in a special blend of MT’s signature ‘black magic’ rubber… News on the release are still thin on the ground at the moment, but we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that the first batch will be hitting the Muscle Things store soon. MAN-E-NEWS// Nama Niku’s ‘Top Rope’ Toy Mafia exclusive revealed…

Hitting our inbox a little late to be featured as promised yesterday, we nonetheless bring you the latest exclusive to be revealed for this weekend’s Toy Mafia… Nama Niku‘s debut NNWA custom keshi, Top Rope! Standing at around 1.5″ tall, the figure features a kit-bashed M.U.S.C.L.E body plus an originally sculpted wrestling ring torso with real ropes threaded through! Available in a slew of one-off colours exclusive to the event, each piece comes with contrasting micro-sized versions of the Mud Man and Claw M.U.S.C.L.E’s as well as a funky vintage wrestling inspired card. Limited to 14 available on the night, remaining stock, if any, will be headed to the Clutter web store on Monday, June 24th, 2013… Stay tuned for a look at the last 2 exclusives tomorrow!

MAN-E-NEWS// Mutant Vinyl Hardcore’s ‘Death Vader’ Berserker teased…

With it being a while since his last full fledged release, Rich over at Mutant Vinyl Hardcore has decided to go in deep with the first for the summer, revealing that the debut painted “club arm” version Berserker, Death Vader, will be up for grabs as soon as next week! Unfortunately images of the beast are still forthcoming (white test shot pictured), but we can only assume that the Star Wars homage will look similar to the caped black vinyl Berserkers made available at TAG’s Creature Feature back in April. With a release date set for Wednesday, June 26th, we suggest keeping a close eye on the MVH IG feed here for the full lowdown, plus studio shots, soon…

MAN-E-NEWS// Kaiju Coup’s Warui Inu “African Fetish” US edition lottery…

The mysterious Kaiju Coup teams up with Medicom Toys for the latest Warui Inu sofubi… the “African Fetish” US edition! Standing at around 6 1/2″ high, and cast in a marbled green and olive vinyl made in Japan, each figure has been adorned with a unique collection of authentic vintage African beads, amulet’s and talismans collected from Africa in the 1960’s- with no 2 alike! Limited to an edition of 6 pieces priced at $220 each, these will of course be offered up via lottery in the usual way. Ron English comes with his latest incarnation of the iconic MC Supersized character, as he proudly presents the resin MC Lover! Originally making an appearance at Clutter’s recent ‘Thought Bubble’ show in a variety of clear colours (of which a limited batch are still available here), the hand cast piece comes in a bubblegum pink this time around, featuring a tiny sculpted heart on the figures breast. Limited to an edition of 30, each signed by the artist, MC Lover is available on the Popaganda store right here for just $40 plus shipping…

MAN-E-NEWS// The ‘Flesh’ 3 Piece Set from Healeymade…

After what has seemed like months of torturous waiting, Healeymade‘s much anticipated ‘Flesh’ mini figure trifecta is finally upon us! Featuring all 3 of the artist’s popular custom bootleg M.U.S.C.L.E figures; M.A.S.K mash-ups Deuce Nelson, Ashura M.A.S.K and the Altar Boy, the 2″ pieces have been hand cast in resin using the traditional keshi-gomu styled flesh tone. Limited to just 10 sets this time around, the little guys will be touching down in the Healeymade store tonight (June 20th) at 9pm EST for an undisclosed sum. MAN-E-NEWS// The SDCC exclusive ALIEN Reaction figures from Super7…

Revealed way back in the summer of last year, the resurrected 1979 ALIEN action figure line from Super7 will finally be making it’s debut at SDCC next month! Under authorisation from 20th Century Fox, the guys are now in the final stages of producing the full series of 5 never before released toys as part of the new ReAction Figure Series (Retro-Action). Authentically stylised exactly as items from the “golden age” of action figures, each 3.75″ sculpt comes with approximately five points of articulation, accessories, and period-authentic blister card packaging. Super7 will be offering up a number of different exclusives for the con, so without further adieu, we bring you a round up of what will be on offer…

ALIEN Reaction Figure “Early Bird Package”// SDCC with be the first chance anyone will get at pre-ordering the full set, with lucky early adoptees garnering a heap load of extras in the process including an ALIEN figures display stage (including original artwork created in the style of 1970s packages), Space Club Membership Card, ALIEN photos, and a sheet of ALIEN stickers! The set will obviously also include the 5 figures, each coming blister-packed with the following accessories-

THE ALIEN (“BIG CHAP”) – with removable transparent dome, extendable jaws and glow-in-the-dark head!
RIPLEY – with Flame Thrower
ASH – with Motion Detector
DALLAS – with Flame Thrower
KANE in NOSTROMO SPACESUIT – with removable helmet and transparent visor

Priced at $100 shipped within the US, $125 worldwide, purchasers can expect the figures to ship between October 1st-December 31st 2013.

ALIEN Reaction Figure 2 Pack “Discovered Sales Samples”// Super7 tracked down a retired toy sales representative who had a storage unit filled with old catalogs and toys from the 1970s, including a most amazing find: cases of “ALIEN SALES SAMPLES” designated for 1979’s Toy Fair! Each package contains two figures – the ALIEN (Big Chap) and KANE (in Nostromo Space Suit) – in unpainted “test shot” blue plastic. These samples were intended for distribution to wholesale buyers looking for the “next big space movie” product in the 3 ¾” scale. Ultimately, the line was cancelled –as shown by the large red stamp on the box and enclosed letter to the sales staff – and these samples never were taken to the trade show… FULL DISCLAIMER: This never happened! In keeping with the mystery that surrounds the figures, Super7 have gone all-out with the production of a faux sales sample package! Featuring ‘prototype’ blue casts of both the Big Chap and Kane, the 2 pack has been packaged in an authentic ‘cancelled’ box with sales staff letter. Priced at $40 each, the set will be available at the Super7 booth next month…

ALIEN Reaction Figure bases and catalogs// Joining the 2 packages above, Super7 will also be offering up a number of free goodies as well! As well as an authentic ‘vintage’ style catalog featuring brand new info and shots of the 5 figures, the guys will also be handing out ALIEN 3.75″ figure bases to all that sign up to the S7 newsletter! We’re sure a number of you have been wondering why our posts have been a little irregular over the past couple of weeks, well now we can reveal why… As we’ve had the honour of preparing not 1, not 2, but 3 exclusives for this week’s June ToyMafia- including 1 all-new, never before seen figure, the Madball of Death! Expect a closer look at the incredible AmToys send-up later in the week, but in the meantime, we bring you a quick rundown of exactly what we sent over…

The Madball of Death// The latest (and quite possibly greatest!) release from the Disarticulators, the MoD was designed and sculpted by our very own Zectron, with production duties handed to Tru:Tek. Inspired by AmToys’ classic 80’s toy line, 50’s sci-fi and a dash of neo-kaiju, the ingeniously designed piece features numerous heads/surfaces depending on which angle you’re looking from. The piece de resistance has got to be the balls main unique design feature though… through the aid of neo-magnets, the thing splits in half to reveal a separate tentacled parasite figure!

Limited to just 11 for this ToyMafia exclusive (5 black w/pink insert, 5 pink w/black insert, 1 chase mixed part with marbled insert), each comes packed with epic header art created collaboratively between Zectron and the legendary Ralph Niese… The Madballs of Death have been priced at $50 a-piece. Kesh-E-Face// This month’s ToyMafia will also play host to the return of one of our most popular figures, Kesh-E-Face! Once again sculpted by the amazing Zectron, the loving homage to MOTU (in particular, our namesake Man-E-Face) has been cast by Tru:Tek in a keshi style rubber, featuring a TM exclusive black body and pink fully rotating/detachable head. Limited to an edition of 5 this time around, Kesh-E-Face comes packaged on a matching exclusive backer designed and hand cut by Tru:Tek. Priced at $40 each.

H.U.S.T.L.E Old Vs. New 2 Pack// Last, but by no means least, we bring you the latest batch of H.U.S.T.L.E, the Old Vs. New 2 Pack! Featuring fan favourite Mekamess (Nama Niku) from Wave 1, coupled with upcoming Wave 2 entry Kamen Fighter (Bigmantoys), the pair have been cast in a randomly assorted mix of pink, black and marbled- with no 2 sets alike! Packaged in an authentic gacha style capsule with exclusive TM insert and button badge, Old Vs. MAN-E-NEWS// The ‘I and MGH’ mini figure WIP from Patient No.6…

Whilst we’re barely catching our breath from the reveal of the exquisite Dark Soul last week, the ever busy Patient No.6 comes with yet another slab of avant garde resin genius… I and MGH (My Giraffe Head!). Reverting back to the mini figure scale, the beautiful piece stands someway in between the sinister undertones of Dark Soul and the simplistic style of the Patient No.6 series in terms of aesthetic- an unsettling balance that gives the incredible piece a totally unique feel. MAN-E-NEWS// Sgt. Corpse Grinder “Bling-Bling” Version from Blockheads Toys…

Originally featured here customised by Man-E-Toys regular Ersico, the hilarious Sgt. Corpse Grinder from Blockheads Toys has been resurrected for one more extra special release… the rather aptly titled Bling-Bling Version! 1 of 3 pieces created in aid of a fellow roommate’s fight against cancer, the latest edition has been cast in a clear amber resin with red accents, coming packed in a deluxe GI-Joe inspired clamshell backer. Priced at a very reasonable $30 plus shipping, every cent made from the figure, as with the other 2 items, will be going to the cause… So what are you waiting for? MAN-E-NEWS// Painted Megara sofubis from Velocitron x Butcherbrand…

To all those, like us, who missed out on the first painted run of Megara sofubis last week, your luck may be about to change… as Butcher Brand reveals a limited batch of customs from none other than Megara producer, Velocitron! Originally available at Superfestival back in April, the 3″ tall customs have been cast in a gorgeous hot pink this time around, featuring teal, blue and gold sprays, plus a detail hugging dark wash. With a tentative release on the Butcher Brand store set for ‘this weekend’, we suggest keeping a close eye for the full lowdown on Butch’s IG feed here later in the week…

MAN-E-NEWS// The one-off ‘Radioactive’ 8-Ball resin for the Radioactive Rumbler Kickstarter campaign…

With Radioactive Uppercut‘s debut vinyl figure hitting Kickstarter in just under 2 weeks time, creator John Santagada reveals what has got to be one of the campaign’s hottest reward incentives yet… the mighty ‘Radioactive’ 8-Ball! As with the previously revealed customs (check them out here), this piece is unlike the standard sofubi release offered in the lower tiers… this 4″ tall beast has been hand cast in a day-glo green tinted clear resin! Strictly limited to 1 one-off casting for the campaign with no others planned for the future, we’re told there may be hope in seeing the return of the Radioactive colourway at some point in the future- albiet as a vinyl figure instead! Stay tuned for more tier reveals as we draw nearer to the July 1st ‘live’ date..

MAN-E-NEWS// The Gizmo keshi custom repro from Eric Nilla…

In between working on his latest Universe of Violence figure, Cythulhu, Eric Nilla has found the time to knock out yet another crazy-rare custom keshi repro… presenting Gremlins’ Gizmo! Originally released as a Japan-only vending machine figure around the time of the film’s release, the awesome 1″ tall sculpt (original pictured) was kindly donated to Eric by fellow LRG member Meatcutta for recasting. Due to come in a huge selection of neon, GID, and thermal colorchange rubber, expect to see the little guy on the Nilla store at some point in the near future…

MAN-E-NEWS// The S.U.C.K.L.E Kickstarter campaign from The Sucklord…

It’s been almost a year since we last heard anything of the Sucklord‘s M.U.S.C.L.E inspired line S.U.C.K.L.E, so it came with great relief yesterday to hear that not only is the project alive and kicking, but has already touched down as a fully fledged Kickstarter campaign! Featuring a total of 10 different sculpts realised by October Toys’ George Gaspar; Sucklord 66, Sucklord 43, Sucklord 16, Ass Wipe, Necromancer, Galactic Jerkbag, Ira Tyranusberg, Another Bitch, Vectar, and Gay Empire, the M.U.S.C.L.E scaled (approx 2″) mini figures are due to come cast in an authentic injection moulded PVC, with a number of different colourways on offer. Tiers for the campaign range from $20 for the basic ‘politically incorrect’ Flesh set, $40 for the inclusion of the Kickstarter ‘Clear’ set, right up to $1,166 for the one-off Archivist pack- a monstrous reward featuring every figure in every colourway (all backed as above), a test shot set, plus 1 of only 2 hand cast resin pulls from George Gaspar! The campaign will be running until Tuesday, July 16th, so be sure to head over right here and make your pledge soon…

Limited to just 11 pieces, the bagged and headed NS Dave is up for grabs on the Novelty Haus store right here for a wallet friendly $20 plus shipping…

MAN-E-NEWS// The Splurrt x MVH ‘Feral Boy’ revealed…

Gearing up for what could quite possibly be THE crossover toy of the year, Rich over at Mutant Vinyl Hardcore has just revealed his take on Splurrt‘s recently released Apex Diggler… presenting the Feral Boy! Featuring an all-new head sculpt from MVH, the Diggler hide wearing wacko is said to be entering full vinyl production soon. The first of a 2 part collaboration with Splurrt, we can only assume that one of MVH’s many figures will be receiving a similar treatment soon… one word, EPIC! We’ll be keeping track on the project as it unfolds, but in the meantime, we suggest you guys keep a close eye on the MVH and Splurrt IG feeds here and here for all the latest info…
