Up and coming illustrator Dr Death has recently revealed images of his first designer action figure sculpt, the provisionally titled “Death, Doom and Destruction”… An absolutely incredible first attempt, the breathtakingly detailed 5.5” figure has (as with Death’s illustrations) been heavily influenced by the 80’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, in particular, Shredder’s henchman “Mutagen Man”. Due to feature a clear-cast dome with suspended brain, the sculpt will hopefully be heading into resin production soon. No news on edition sizes or pricing as of yet, so we suggest keeping a close eye on the dedicated October Toys forum thread here for more developments soon…

Scott Tolleson teams up with Skinner for the release of the latest batch of Deadbeet customs, as he proudly presents “Black Ice” and “Black Fire”… Sprayed in Skinner’s signature mix of metallic blue, green and black with contrasting firey red and yellow detailing, the 7” tall Black Ice sofubi has been limited to just 10 pieces, priced at $150 each plus shipping. Alongside the soft vinyl release, Skinner has also got to work on a batch of Baby Deadbeet PVC mini figures too, with the appropriately titled Black Fire coming in a gorgeous blend of gold, red and black sprays. Free to anyone lucky enough to bag the bigger version, another 20 will also be up for grabs at just $30 each… Black Fire and Black Ice touch down in the Stolleart store this Friday, March 8 at 10am PST.

Ironmask and Eric Nilla aka IroNilla come with the third monthly instalment of ‘Universe of Violence’, with the mini figure series’ first standard size release, ‘Arn Hellstorm’… Sculpted in Ironmask’s unmistakable chunky style, the awesome M.U.S.C.L.E inspired viking wrestler (original sculpt pictured) is currently be cast up by Eric in a flexible keshi-style rubber. Due to go on sale tomorrow on the Nilla store for an undisclosed sum, Arn Hellstorm will be dropping in a variety of different colours, each coming with a randomly packed accessory/micro figure. Eric Nocella kindly shares images of the latest figure to join the Argonaut Resins family, the Mini Pharaoh Hound! Joining the recently re-sculpted full-size Pharaoh, the 5″ tall piece (pictured here as a final wax sculpt) will soon be making the perfect companion piece to the Mini Tuttz in many a toy collection, with a whole slew of fun solid colours and clear tints planned for the coming months. Standing at around 3″ tall, Chris will be offering up 3 different versions of the figure across and edition of 26; 4 Glow-in-the-dark, 4 cold-cast bronze and 18 one-off colourways. Priced at just $25, $45 and $22 respectively, the little guys will be hitting the WBM store on Thursday, March 7th at Noon Eastern time… Chris has stated that all orders will also include a completely FREE micro resin SLAB (whilst stocks last), plus entry into the random drawings for a full sized version!

Bob Conge aka Plaseebo kindly shares with us 2 custom pieces he’s created for Clutter‘s upcoming “Monster of the Island” group show, the BFM (Bloody Fucken Mess) Plaseebo Mummy and Puppy Night Gamer… Cast in a soft vinyl with swirled glass eye inserts, the Tarantino inspired Mummy has been given a vivid neon green/yellow base complete with a bright red rub and blood splatters. Slightly less macabre, the (almost!) adorable Puppy Night Gamer is a mash-up of Kaiju Coup’s Warui Inu with Plaseebo’s ever popular bulb-headed alien. Cast in GID vinyl with red glass eye inserts, the piece comes with Conge’s signature motion activated led unit in the head…
“Monsters from the Island” is a group neo-kaiju and sofubi exhibition curated by Monster Island NYC and comprised of artists working primarily in sofubi and resin.. The opening will take place on March 9th, 2013 with a reception from 6-9PM at The Clutter Gallery, 163 Main Street, Beacon, NY 12508. The pieces will remain on display in the gallery space until April 6th, 2013.

Like so many of us, our good friend Lee over at Bigmantoys was a huge fan of the original Duke Nukem 3D, but was always a bit disappointed by the severely limited range of merch… I mean, every good 90’s videogame character worth their salt has their own mini figure, right? Well 17 years (and the world’s most terrible sequel!) later, Lee’s given up waiting and set about producing his own homage to “the king”, as he proudly presents the “NUCLEARMAN” custom M.U.S.C.L.E! A spitting image of the wise cracking, chauvinistic pig we all know and love, the figure has been kit-bashed and re-sculpted from various mini figures, coming resin cast in M.U.S.C.L.E flesh, orange and black. It’s been a while since we last saw turboPISTOLA‘s Elephantos resin, so it came with great pleasure yesterday to find the artist has been working on not one, but two all-new colourways! Entitled the “Skellas”, the first edition has been inspired by MOTU’s Skeletor, coming in a faithful mix of yellow, blue and purple brushwork on top of a detail-hugging black base. Limited to just 3 pieces, the little guys come packed in the signature block printed box for $25 plus shipping… Joining the “Skellas”, turboPISTOLA has updated one of the series’ most popular past colourways with the reveal of Breakbeat Mk.2. As if the recently revealed Ulric Wolfman and Goliath 2-pack wasn’t enough, the guys behind wrestling mini figure line ‘Mystical Warriors of the Ring‘ go and drop yet another awesome design on our laps… presenting the primal Kayin Kunga! Designed by series creator Mark Vasquez, digitally sculpted by Simon Grell, and soon to be produced by Marty ‘The Godbeast’ Hansen, the toy will be making an appearance at C2E2 and Powercon in prototype form, with a full debut planned for NYCC in October… Joining news of Kunga, the guys have also released images of the newly 3D-printed Goliath (below). With a C2E2 debut just around the corner, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for some resin test shots of this monstrous creature soon.

UK based graffiti-cum-toy artist Hoakser proudly presents the latest painted custom of his debut resin figure, Maskedman… Designed and sculpted by the man himself, the incredible spray can/respirator mash-up stands at an impressive 9.5cm tall, with this unique one-off coming painted in Hoakser’s instantly recognisable grimy, blood splattered style. Swiftly following the “SuckerPunch” Phideas Gold custom we posted earlier in the week, JC Rivera has announced details of his latest resin figure, the ‘Real’ Bear Champ! A commissioned sculpt by the artist based on his ever popular Bear Champ character, the ultra-realistic 4″ piece offers a perfect contrast to the original’s more stylised, cartoon-like approach. Due to go on sale in Rivera’s store this Friday, March 1st, the artist will be offering up 2 different versions; a fully painted edition for $50 and a DIY blank for just $35 (prices subject to change). Brooke A Allen kindly shares details of her third original mini figure, the fearsome Cud! A follow-up to the previously posted Reinfear Thunderstagg, the awesome piece is markedly bigger in scale than previous efforts at around 2″ tall, leading to a giant step up in terms of definition and detailing- just check out those muscles! Pictured here as a near finished sculpt, the piece will be heading into resin production soon, with Brooke stating that 30 one-off pieces will be available in her store by the end of March, each coming complete with stand and accessories.
