hutt sam

“I got 99 problems cause a Hutt ate one!”

Our good friend Adam Pratt aka Small Angry Monster has managed to find time in his busy custom schedule for the release of his latest resin mini figure, the OG Hutt! Based on an illustration by Erica Bettencourt, the 1″ tall slimy worm is available blind-bagged in a variety of different clear, glow in the dark and super-rare hand painted colourways. Available through the Monster’s Lair store for just $15 each, OG Hut comes bagged with a mini print of Bettencourt’s hilarious illustration (not shown due to copyright issues).

UPDATE// Unfortunately since the time of writing OG Hutt has sold out, here’s hoping for a new batch soon!

MAN-E-NEWS// The ‘Droogie’ custom Gobi from Manny X…

manny x

Continuing his onslaught of customs based on Muttpop’s popular Gobi vinyl figure, Manny X is proud to present the awesome Clockwork Orange themed Droogie! Replacing the head with his signature resin eyeball, Manny has sculpted the infamous ‘codpiece’ jock strap, finishing the piece in the iconic black and white colours of the Droog uniform. Once again coming packed with an exclusive hand drawn blister card, Droogie should be available in the Manny X store soon for around $35 plus shipping… Wondering what happened to poor old Gobi’s original head? Well Manny has cleverly turned it into another all-new figure! Featuring a resin brain and gruesome pool of blood, the decapitated head has been painted in a striking mix of orange and silver. No news on pricing for this one, but expect it to hit around the same time as Droogie later this week…

MAN-E-NEWS// The limited edition resin Monkeynaut from Galaxy Monkeys…

Screen Shot 2013-01-23 at 14.03.15

With several resin figures making the jump over to soft vinyl recently, Eddie Dobson of Galaxy Monkeys has decided to buck the trend… with the reveal of an über limited resin run of breathtaking sofubi, the Monkeynaut! MAN-E-PROFILE// The ‘Rampage Exclusive’ Masters of the Bootleg: KESH-E-FACE figure from The Disarticulators…

kesh e face

Continuing the rundown of Disarticulator figures we’ll be unveiling at this week’s Rampage Studios opening, we bring you the piece that has perhaps garnered us the most attention so far… the ‘Rampage Exclusive’ Masters of the Bootleg: KESH-E-FACE! The first Disarticulator release to crossover into the world of H.U.S.T.L.E, the oversized mini figure  has been created as the ultimate arch-nemesis to H.U.S.T.L.E’s main protagonist, the fateful Min-E-Face. Sculpted by the uber talented Zectron, the jaw dropping 3″ tall figure takes all our favourite parts of the He-Man/MOTU aesthetic; Man-E-Face’s rotating head, Skeletor’s face, Ram-Man’s shoulders, a chest symbol straight from Mosquitor and Hordak, plus a Trapjaw inspired cybernetic arm (albiet wildly enhanced!), and combines them to form one of the coolest mini figures we’ve ever seen, let alone had the honour to produce!

keshi-face-2

Cast in a day glo/neon green rubber with pink rotating head (plus one reverse chase!) for this Rampage exclusive edition, the 3″ tall figure once again comes packaged in a hand finished blister card with artwork from Zectron. Limited to just 5 pieces, additional stock (albiet in a solid green) will be touching down in the Rampage Studios store at some point next month… Stay tuned for details on the standard ‘M.U.S.C.L.E flesh’ release soon…

Produced in an extremely run of just 7 one-off pieces at the moment, the figures can be found on the Nilla store for just $16 plus shipping… Joining Skelitor, Eric has also been kind enough to drop another 2 highly anticipated figures onto the store as well. The recently posted ‘Fish’ Ghoulie re-make and Hellopike’s Kinnikuthulhu both make their debut, available in a huge selection of different colours for just $13 and $15 a piece… Anyone interested is going to need to head over to the store quick, stock has already begun to quickly disappear!

Character Profiles//

Lobsterman (designed and sculpted by Zectron): “The Lobsterman is a formidable opponent. Lobstermen form the shock troopers of the deep and also hold very high positions amongst the alien hierarchy.

The Lobsterman, in addition to using standard alien weaponry, has big meaty claws that allow it to viciously strike aquanauts when in close quarters. This means that whether or not it is carrying firearms, a Lobsterman is a constant threat until it is incapacitated.

The Lobsterman’s other – and perhaps most – distinguishing feature is its thick carapace that makes it nearly invulnerable. Their actual protective plating is very light, but the Lobsterman’s extreme damage resistance greatly reduces the effectiveness of most weapons. Low powered weapons are rendered ineffective.”

Bio-Drone (designed and sculpted by Tru:Tek):“The Bio-Drone is a creation only an alien mind could conceive of. It is a brain, (human or alien) suspended in amniotic fluids and connected to a powered base unit that can fly on land or below water.

Each Bio-Drone is armed with a powerful auditory disruptor, part machine and part organism. Some of our scientists have suggested that the weapon is driven by the host organisms original vocal cords. Highly accurate and tenacious these super guard dogs are widely used by the aliens to protect valuable assets.”

P.A.T (designed and sculpted by Bigmantoys):Little is known about this relatively unthreatening, yet horrific creature. No doubt a failed attempt at alien assimilation, “Pat” (Partially Assimilated Terrestrial) as we call him, still lives near or within alien colonies. This would not be so disturbing if it were not for his remaining human traits. He still goes through the motions of waving hello as he advances on our troops. Rather than neutralise him, Aquanauts tend to run away, perhaps out of reluctance to kill any remaining humanity inside.”

MAN-E-NEWS// The Jitsu resin Chopping Hand from Huggington’s Twisted Toys…

hugingtons

Following our look at Bombermat Toys earlier today, we bring you details of yet another intriguing custom bootlegger to emerge recently- Huggington’s Twisted Toys… Details on upcoming projects are pretty scarce at the moment, but it would appear that the guys will be focusing on modifying classic action figures with an eye to enhancing their best features- the first up, a custom Jitsu MOTU, featuring an awesome oversized 200x ‘Chopping Hand’ that replaces the rather weedy chromed original! Hand cast in resin and given a superb ‘weathered’ brush finish, the one-off piece can be acquired by getting in touch with the guys through their Facebook page here. We’d kind of like to see a limited run of the hand on it’s own (there’s a stack of figures that come to mind that would look incredible with it attached!), so here’s keeping our finger crossed we see more of them in the future…

MAN-E-NEWS// The TMNT ‘Shredder’ Crawdad customs from Corwin Webb…

Once again choosing Daniel Yu’s incredible OMFG entry as a platform, the perfectly suited mini figure has been given a rather awesome paint job that is pretty much 100% accurate to the cartoon’s original arch nemesis. Limited to just 5 pieces (of which only 3 will be available to purchase), the bagged and headed pieces should hopefully be making their way to the Corwin Webb store this weekend for around $25 plus shipping…

epehunt gif-1

Hot off the heels of the first Universe of Violence ‘Boss’ figure release, Ironmask’s Hell Turtle, Eric Nilla has just revealed a teaser for his entry… an as yet untitled Elephant warrior design. Featuring the same high-quality stylised sculpting we’ve come to expect from the rubber mini figure series, the oversized mini will be released with an unconfirmed accessory at the beginning of February as part of IroNilla’s monthly release campaign. Expect a full reveal, plus a look at that intriguing extra closer to the release…

MAN-E-NEWS// Baby Deadbeat ‘Flesh’ and ‘Plum’ mini figures from Scott Tolleson x October Toys…

deadbeat

Starting out as an entry into OMFG Series 2 before making an appearance in soft vinyl, Scott Tolleson‘s Deadbeat has finally been produced as he was originally intended… as a 1.5″ PVC mini figure! Making an appearance at last weekend’s (In)action Figure Show as a limited painted run, the George Gaspar sculpted Baby Deadbeat is now available exclusively through the October Toys store in both ‘Flesh’ and ‘OMFG Test Shot Plum’.
