MAN-E-NEWS// The Ashuravor custom Armorvor head from Eric Nilla…

On top of the horde of commissions and original figures Eric Nilla‘s been working on recently, the mini figure maestro has managed to squeeze in some time to work on a very cool new custom piece… the Spinning Head Ashuravor! A fully Glyos Armorvor compatible head, the piece has been booted from one of M.U.S.C.L.E’s most iconic figures, the six armed Ashuraman. A perfect match to the already stunning Armorvor design, the new articulation in the neck means that all 3 faces of the wrestling god can now be put on display… No news as to whether these will ever get a full release, but given that the pictured piece is a rubber cast copy things definitely look promising. More news as soon as we get it!

MAN-E-NEWS// The Halloween specials from Peter Kato…

Following the release of his latest wave of resin figures at NYCC a couple of weeks back (check them out in full here), our good friend Peter Kato is back with a whole slew of Halloween themed goodies! Here’s a quick rundown of what will be hitting the PK store later on today (October 26th)…

Ninja-Robo Pumpkin Slashers// “Always on the look-out for pumpkins to slash up into jack’o lanterns!” The third variant of Peter’s digitally sculpted Ninja-Robos, the Pumpkin Slashers have been cast in a gorgeous clear orange resin, finished with hand painted black detailing (including separately cast black katana arms!). Standing at 3″ tall, the figures have been limited to just 5 pieces, coming with a price tag of $25 each…

Halloween Party FrightBites// Resurrecting the much loved Fright Bite one more time, Peter proudly presents 2 new variants, Slime Green and Candy Orange. Cast in clear green and orange resins, the mischievous Fright Bite comes lovingly hand finished in a mixture of red, black and white. Once again limited to 5 pieces, both colourways will set you back just $10 a piece…

Tako-Pumpkins// With an adorable round shaped head, Peter has wasted no opportunity in giving these little guys a full pumpkin make-over, painting the clear orange resin figures in a jack’o lantern style with a green stem drilled into the top! As with past Turtle Tetsujin and Tako Cube releases, the Tako-Pumpkins feature a hand painted ghost that has been embedded within the chest with clear resin. Limited to 5 pieces (starting to see a pattern emerging here!), the 2.5″ tall figures can be yours for just $15 each…

Skeletor Tako-Cubes// Leaving the best to last (in our eyes at least!), Peter rounds off the Halloween series with the release of yet another awesome Tako-Cube edition… inspired by the one and only Skelitor! Cast in a mixture of solid dark and light blue resin with yellow and purple highlights, the embedded chest piece comes with an awesome rendition of He-Man’s sworn enemy- WANT! Priced at $15 each, these will also be limited to just 5…

MAN-E-XTRA// Peter Kato’s “Blister” resin for the Scary Girl Ten Year Anniversary Show…

Now, in addition to his humungous Halloween drop, Peter has also been kind enough to share his piece for Toy Tokyo’s 2012 Halloween Show, the “Nathan Jurevicius presents Scary Girl: Ten Year Anniversary Exhibition”… Deciding upon creating a small 5 piece run inspired by Jurevicius’ Blister character, the figure has been created using the never-before-released Alpha body that Peter created before settling upon the Turtle Tetsujin design we all know and love. Originally planned as a “base body” (kind of like a he-man base muscle body) that was due to be used for numerous other figure designs, it’s great to see it finally see the light of day- albiet without a head per say! Cast in a clear green resin, each figure features the face of blister embedded in the chest, coming complete with dark spots and black hand painted detailing… Dropping at the show’s opening on October 31st, expect to pay just $30 a piece.
Nathan Jurevicius presents Scary Girl: Ten Year Anniversary Exhibition
Halloween night Oct 31st
2012  7pm~10pm at Toy Tokyo Underground Gallery 91 Second Ave (near 5th street) nyc.
With over 100 artists including Junko Mizuno, Lamour Supreme, Sucklord, and Bwana Spoons…

MAN-E-NEWS// Gumbo in Grombyland from Blackgard x GeeKai

“Gumbo is the mascot for Gummy-O’s, a breakfast cereal marketed to children by Gromby Foods Co. He works very hard, tirelessly selling sugar-coated wheat products to children in order to promote his brand, and sometimes takes his job a little too seriously. When he is not being a cereal mascot, he enjoys the following activities: fishing, ping-pong, and talking long walks in the forests of Grombyland. He is sometimes a little lonely because currently he is the only resident of Grombyland forest, and he would secretly like to have a friend to play ping-pong with.”

Tom over at Blackgard is proud to present his first collaborative project with artist GeeKai, and if you guys were expecting another armour clad Ironheart-style figure, then you’d better think again! Named Gumbo, the loosely Ewok inspired character has been created to kind of “fit around” the Blackgard universe rather than being set in it- the idea being that if Blackgard was a television show from the 80’s, these bears would feature in the cereal ads during the commercial breaks… absolute genius! Standing at 4″ tall with a single point of articulation, Gumbo will initially come in two different flavours; Orange Creamsicle and Avacado Dreamsicle (each an edition of 10), which will be joined by a few one-of-a-kind customs on the day of release. Priced at $30 each ($40 for the customs), the figures come bagged with headers, featuring artwork by GeeKai… Look out for them on the Blackgard store this Friday (October 26th), at 9pm EST…

MAN-E-NEWS// The Halloween Special “Spiderboid” from Goboids…

The mysterious interstellar Goboids have just welcomed the latest addition to their ever growing universe of cranium-inspired creatures, the “Halloween Special” Spiderboids! Featuring the standard finned brain design, the stunning figures have been hand cast and pressurised in a glittery clear orange resin with black fin… each coming with a rubber toy spider embedded within! Priced at just $20 a piece, the fully Goboid compatible figure is available in strictly limited quantities through the Goboids store right here. Stay tuned for more from the modular resin toy line soon, and check out the Goboids site for a full rundown of the series!

MAN-E-NEWS// The White Winter Raar and Mumble from Neese…

Following the reveal of DMS‘ Overmaster Supreme in Carbonite yesterday (just below!), we bring forth the latest project from his partner in crime Neese, the White Winter Raar and Mumble! Featuring the same mix of hand cast resin and plush from previous releases, the impressive 12″ tall White Winter Raar has been decked out in a beautiful super-soft faux fur, complete with white/sparkly iridescent resin horns and claws plus your choice of the standard black Raar eyes or the new black pupils with white eyelids (pictured). Limited to just 15 pieces, Raar will be available in the Monsters & Mecha store this Friday (October 26th) at 6pm BST (GMT+1) for an undisclosed price…  Also looking to hibernate in your home this winter, Neese’s Mumbles have also been given the “WW” treatment. Measuring 4″ x 3″, these open edition little fur balls have black safety eyes, the choice of white or iridescent resin mini horns and a looped ribbon to hang them with. As with the Raar, pricing is still to be confirmed, so be sure to set your watch for the drop to avoid any disappointment!

MAN-E-NEWS// The Overmaster Supreme in Carbonite from DMS…

DMS‘ latest addition to the Bootleg in Carbonite series, the Overmaster Supreme, is a little hard to explain, but we’re going to give it our best shot! A bootleg of the Sucklord’s recent Overmaster “case exclusive” Dunny, which in turn was inspired by the original Dumny bootleg (also bootlegged by DMS last year- confusing!), the part hand cast resin, part vinyl toy comes in a retina burning pink with silver splatters… Limited to just 25 pieces each, the signed, numbered and blister carded figures will be going on sale in the DMS store this Friday (October 26th) at 7pm GMT+1 for just $50 a piece.

MAN-E-NEWS// The Mark Ultra’s debut resin bootleg figures…

Inspired by some of the bootleg/action figure scene’s finest including Healeymade, Killer Bootlegs, Triclops Studio and… ehm… our very own Tru:Tek (poor chap!), The Mark Ultra is gearing up for the launch of his debut resin figures… and boy we’ve got to say, they’ve turned out awesome! Kit-bashed from various 3.75″ action figure favourites including vintage Star Wars and GI Joe, the first wave consists of 4 different figures; the Black Guard, High Ranking Insect, Spiritual Intruder and rpg-88. Cast in a mixture of clear and opaque tints, the bagged and headed pieces will be touching down in the newly opened The Mark Ultra store this Thursday (October 25th) at 11pm EST for an unbelievable sum of just $12 each plus shipping… Stay tuned for more from this promising artist soon!
