MAN-E-NEWS// The Kings of Atlantis mini resin skulls from Argonaut Resins…

Ahead of a full reveal (expected later in the week), Eric Nocella over at Argonaut Resins has announced details of his latest project, the Kings of Atlantis skulls… in mini form! Similar to the original “King” edition that was released and instantly sold out a while back, the new shrunken down versions of the mysterious Demi-God skulls have been based on the 10 King rulers of the island of Atlantis… Due to come cast in Argonaut Resins’ signature wide range of finishes including solids, metallics, and clear tints (plus a few chase GID’s!), the mini KoA skulls will be released in 4 waves of 25  blind boxed pieces, with the first wave dropping next week sometime and the last hopefully making an appearance at NYCC in October. Stay tuned for a full reveal in the next few days!

“Ten Demi-God Kings ruled the fabled island of Atlantis thousands of years ago. They all perished when their paradise was destroyed by the Gods. All that remain are their skulls…each endowed with an incredible power that is passed onto whomever has the skull in their possession. They say too much power is not a good thing…are you willing to take a chance and find out if this is true…?”

MAN-E-NEWS// The Chop Suey Rejects 2: Reanimators from The Sucklord…

“Resurrected from the shit pile…”

Having already managing to shift a ton of crappy defected resin in the first Chop Suey Rejects sale last year, The Sucklord is about to pull the same cheap move again- with the announcement of round 2! Set to drop in the Suckadelic store at some point this week, the latest batch of colour tests, broken figures, miss-castings and random junk have be cobbled together to create one of the artist’s most cynical and money-grabbing series yet- awesome! Consisting of toys from projects past, present and future (!), judging by the posted pic it appears that rejects from the recent Karate Chumps, Gay Energon, Occupy Cybertron and MicroSexual Suck-Peg lines will all feature… Be sure to stay locked on the Suckadelic twitter feed for release details in the next few days.

MAN-E-NEWS// “Toy Story… the afterlife” custom S.L.U.G Zombies from Plastic Playhouse…

We previously featured the awesome custom work of Plastic Playhouse a few weeks back (check them out here) to a great response from our readers, so today we’ve decided to take a look at another project the highly talented artist has just completed- the Toy Story inspired custom S.L.U.G Zombies! Taking the cowboy and astronaut zombie designs from the highly popular monochromatic mini-figure series, PP has set to work with his usual flair, giving the pair an incredible “Woody” and “Buzz” makeover. Painted in the duo’s instantly recognisable colours, we particularly love the little details that have been wedged in to such a small scale- Buzz’s neon purple flat top just one ingenious feature of many… Available through the dedicated Little Rubber Guys thread here, Woody and Buzz can be yours for just $40 plus shipping.

MAN-E-NEWS// Warlords of Wor’s “Bog-Nar” from ManOrMonster…

We previously revealed the first prototype from ManOrMonster‘s MOTU inspired Warlord’s of Wor here last week, and whilst the rough casting only gave us a small insight into the direction of the project, the newly revealed concept sketch pictured above helps shed a little more light… Entitled “Bog-Nar” the Mutant Muck Menace, the slimey green creature differs wildly from the original design, scrapping the bald featureless head and body for a far more intricate concept… Due to become the first of many figures from the Warlord’s of Wor line, the vine armed, Tekno-Shear wielding beast is set to drop sometime this September… Stay locked on the Warlord’s of Wor blog here for further developments…

MAN-E-NEWS// The “Jeremy Bulloch” Boba Fett from Killer Bootlegs…

Although the full design won’t be revealed until closer to the release date, we’re able to show you a teaser of the leg sculpts so far… leaves you wanting more, doesn’t it?! Inspired by the Fright Zone playset, the stunning organic textures you see here will be running right through the figure, and judging by the top secret concept drawings we’ve seen so far, the best is yet to come! No news on a release date for this guy as of yet, it’s likely we won’t see him for a while- Lee intends to get the tree-beast 100% perfect before unleashing it on the public!

MAN-E-NEWS// The NIBBLERS project from The Tarantulas x Fig-Lab…

After several weeks of teasers, The Tarantulas have finally been able to provide some solid information on their upcoming NIBBLERS project with Fig-Lab… During the last run of unpainted white Real x Nibblers earlier in the year, The Tarantulas held a few back to give to Fig-Lab’s Datadub, who has in turn passed them out to a select group of friends mainly but not exclusively in Japan. Resulting in a series of hand painted one-offs by a dream roster of artists (unfortunately names are being closely guarded, but our money is on the likes of Matt Doughty, Paul Kaiju and L’Amour Supreme…), these will be hopefully heading to the dedicated NIBBLERS store at the end of August. The Tarantulas has stated that all proceeds from the project will help establish a brand new charity organisation – the Tohoku Counseling Relief Fund – which will provide counseling, psychotherapy and group services to those in need among the evacuees from Fukushima and survivors in the 3 coastal prefectures hit by the tsunami in 2011…

MAN-E-NEWS// “Mi Empire Loca” WIP from 2bitHACK…

It appears that 2012 will be the year of the Star Wars bootleg at DesignerCon this November, as alongside The Sucklord‘s Super Suck Up! show, 2bitHACK will also be debuting his latest line of mash-ups, Mi Empire Loca. We originally revealed the first figure in the series, Chewbacca Homes, a few weeks back, so it came with great pleasure this week to find the artist has already begun work on the second… a suit wearing Stormtrooper! Featuring a bootlegged action figure, vintage Stormtrooper head and some original sculpting, the piece is due for a purple silicone bath over the next couple of days- so be sure to stay tuned for a look at the first test pulls next week!

UPDATE// Since our post earlier today, 2bitHACK has kindly got back with a few more details (and a better shot!)… Due to come in a set of 3 hand cast resin figures, Chewbacca Homes will be joined by the above Vatotrooper, plus the newly revealed Prisoner # c3p0. Look out for a fully painted reveal soon…

MAN-E-NEWS// The “Spinning Head Sunshine” custom M.U.S.C.L.E from Brown Noize Productions…

In what has to be one of the biggest announcements in the custom M.U.S.C.L.E community this year, Sanjeev over at Brown Noize Productions has just revealed details of the second in his trilogy of Sunshine inspired figures, the breathtaking Spinning Head Sunshine! Tired of not being able to display his “Spinning Top Sunshine” M.U.S.C.L.E (#195) properly due to the pin like base, Sanjeev set about designing a body suit for the figure to sit in… Designed using CAD in a similar way to BNP’s recent AshuraShine custom, the figure has been scaled to fit in with the rest of the series when #195 is in place. Currently making it’s way to Shapeways for 3D printing, Spinning Head Sunshine will eventually be making it’s way over to Muscle Things for production some time soon… But wait, that’s not all! When discussing the project with Muscle Things’ Alec, the pair realised that whilst most collectors will have a copy of the original #195, it is likely that due to the ageing process, they wont match up in either shape or colour with the new design… To combat this, Sanjeev has once again flexed his CAD muscle to produce (in our eyes) an even better alternative! Taking the same shape as #195, Sanjeev has sculpted richer detailed heads and chest logos, coupled with the familiar block texture that we all know and love. To be sold together as a single figure, BNP have plans to release a whole host of different colour combos in the near future… Head over to the Brown Noize Productions blog for an in-depth look at the project, and be sure to stay tuned for release details on this ingenious piece soon…

MAN-E-NEWS// The “Captain Diggler” custom from D-Lux x Splurrt…

Inspired by the late 70’s Hana-Barbera cartoon, Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels, the beautifully finished piece has been painted in a mixture of brown, red, black and white sprays, coming complete with it’s very own leopard print cape! Bagged with an authentic redrawn CC header card, Captain Diggler will be available through the D-Lux store tomorrow (Friday, August 4th) at 8pm EST for just $50 plus shipping…
