Following in the footsteps of the Skelechubs last month (find out more here), We Become Monsters‘ Galaxy Frankenstein bust is the latest resin to get the “Mini” treatment! Originally created for the Toy Invaderz Show, the classically sculpted monster bust has been shrunk down using a special material (Hydroshrink), and then re-cast in a new 2″ scale. Due to be touching down in the WBM’s store at some point later today, we’re guessing they’ll be available in the same huge selection of opaque, clear and GID tints seen in the previous “Mini” release… Stay tuned for a post update as soon as full release details are revealed later.
MAN-E-NEWS// The “Dante’s Inferno” custom Dunny from JC Rivera…
It’s been a while since we last featured any Dunnys at Man-E-Toys, but on catching wind of JC Rivera‘s stunning “Someone’s Inferno” yesterday, we knew we couldn’t pass the little guy up! More art-piece than custom, the beautiful figure has been inspired by computer game “Dante’s Inferno”, which was in turn inspired by the epic 14th century poem, Devine Comedy. Depicting a hellish world full of skulls, lost souls, and of course, Beelzebub himself, the harrowing scene has been painted in Rivera’s signature soft-focus style with a limited palette of browns and yellows… Unfortunately (for us!), Someone’s Inferno was a privately commissioned by a KR Board member, so if you’re interested in acquiring a similar piece, your best bet is to head over to Rivera’s site here with any enquiries.
MAN-E-NEWS// BabyZilla B.U.F.F mini figure from Nama Niku x Muscle Things…
Following in the footsteps of both Meatgrinder and Half-Baked Ham, Nama-Niku‘s Manzilla has received the “chibi” treatment with the reveal of BabyZilla! Created for the on-going wrestling inspired “B.U.F.F” line, BabyZilla has been touted as the series’ first ever manager (with more to follow soon!)… Kit-bashed/sculpt by Tyler of Nama-Niku and hand cast in an authentic flesh toned keshi rubber, the cute little guy should be making his first appearance on the Muscle Things store soon… Keep track of further developments through the dedicated Muscle Things thread here.

The biggest announcement to come from SDCC 2012 yet (in our eyes at least!), Super7 have revealed that they will be releasing the original never-before-manufactured Alien action figure line! Set to become the first toys in Super7’s upcoming ReAction Figures series, the line-up of 5 figures (Ripley, Ash, Dallas, Kane in Nostromo Suit and the “Big Chap”) will be reproduced from the original 1979 prototypes, featuring the same 3 3/4″ scale, classic sculpting, T-shaped waist, and 5 points of articulation. With official authorisation from 20th Century Fox, the authentic blister carded figures will be joining a whole host of other Super7 x Alien goodies (including designer figures and retro styled glassware!) at some point later this year… Stay locked on the Super7 blog for more news soon.

MAN-E-NEWS// Zectron’s Critters inspired mini figure: Packaging revealed…
When first revealing Zectron‘s Critters inspired mini figure a couple of weeks back (find out more here), we mentioned that the up and coming toy designer had something special in store for the packaging of the first batch… well after hours of painstaking work (and a massive hole in the bank balance), Zectron proudly reveals the custom built boxes in all their glory- and boy were they worth the wait! Scrapping the tradition bag and header card, Zectron plumped for a windowed box design so that the figure could be displayed in or out of it’s packaging. Featuring a beautifully hand drawn crite, the fourth movie’s containment pod control panel, plus the Intergalactic Council logo (fans of the films will know what I mean!), the loving tribute has been finished with the abbreviation “LRG“, a nod to the forum that inspired the project in the first place. Unfortunately, the first batch of these guys has already been accounted for, so be sure to stay tuned for further editions soon…
