MAN-E-NEWS// Custom painted NillaKeshi Splatterhouse Rick from I.Designs…

In lieu of securing Eric Nilla’s SD Splatterhouse Rick for a MAN-E-TOYS exclusive (find out more here), we’ve decided to take a little look at the awesome custom I.Designs (Imperfecz Toys) created a while back. Fetching a hefty $50 on a recent Litte Rubber Guys auction thread, I.Designs has stayed true to the original video game inspiration, decking Rick out in meticulously detailed blue jeans, a suitably stained and weathered meat cleaver… plus the all important blood splattered hockey mask! Standing at around 1″ tall, the authentic keshi-style rubber figure will be landing in our store over the next month (price tbc), but if you can’t wait (or are looking for different colours!), head over to the dedicated LRG thread here. Expect more news on our Nilla x Niku exclusives soon…

MAN-E-UPDATE// WIP packaging for the ‘Ed Skworm Vs. Min-E-Face 2 pack…

As I am sure all of our regular readers are aware, we’ve been working on the ‘Ed Skworm Vs. Min-E-Face M.U.S.C.L.E 2 pack for quite some time now, and whilst it’s been a bummer that the release date has slipped further and further, the extra time has given us the chance to go to town on other aspects of the release! Originally due to come bagged and headed, we decided to run with a more authentic look and created the H.U.S.T.L.E brand (Hundreds of Ugly Scraped Together Losers… Everywhere!) that will be used for future releases alongside the current ‘Ed Skworm and Min-E-Face set. We luckily managed to source some (almost) perfect clamshell blisters, so everything appears to be on-track for a faithful 80’s style release!

With just a few minor changes needed before sending the backing card off to the printers, we should be looking at a release in early July (as long as the figures can sneak through customs unscathed!). Stay tuned for more info as production nears the final stages, including updates on the various colourways that will be on offer, edition sizes and pricing… Wondering who that little dude in the pics is? Well this guy is due to be our third bootleg in the on-going series! Named the “Skworm Hunter”, he will be the first of Min-E-Face’s allies we have planned in the coming months. Expect a full reveal of this figure soon, plus a further look at the “Skormula” universe that we’ve been developing around the various characters…

MAN-E-NEWS// The KRUZZILLA resin figure from Kobzilla…

What do you get when you cross the mythical bird Khrut with King Kong? KRUZZILLA of course!

Hailing from Bangkok, Kobzilla are proud to present their latest resin mini, the mighty Kruzzila. Taking inspiration from mythical Thai creatures and Japanese kaiju (with a dash of keshi!), the beast is due to be cast in very limited quantities, with an initial unpainted version (pictured above) hitting the Kobzilla store at the end of this month. As with previous releases, expect a few limited paint runs to follow soon after… Can’t wait for your Kobzilla fix? Then you’ll be glad to know that both previous releases, KAEW and Thong, are still available on the store now.

MAN-E-NEWS// The “Friday 13th” Hugo and more from UME Toys…

To celebrate the second of three Friday 13th’s this year, Richard Page over at UME Toys has decided to bring Halloween to July with a whole host of themed releases… plus a brand-spanking new resin! Originally featuring as a stunning original sculpt at NYCC last year, the pumpkin headed Hugo has been given the mini-UME makeover for his debut in resin, coming with the same British charm that made the recent Martin Longbottom such a success… Rich has stated that he will be casting the buttons separately, so expect some Martin-style variants once they’re all finally revealed! Sitting alongside Hugo come Friday 13th (July), Rich will also be revealing some special trick or treat customs of Martin Longbottom and his pal Jason the ghost, and if that wasn’t enough, we’re told of plans of a very special competition! Be sure to keep track of the latest updates by heading over to the UME Toys blog here

MAN-E-NEWS// The “Rise of the Beasts” series 1 from LittleRubberGuys’ Jon Karis…

After months of trials and tribulations including a fully backed yet cancelled Kickstater campaign (find out more here), plus a slew of production issues, the promising “Rise of the Beasts” series 1 from Little Rubber Guys‘ Jon Karis should finally be seeing the light of day soon! Primarily influenced by the 1986 Battle Beast line, the ROTBs are to be cast in hard wearing PVC, will come with similar articulation to the 80′s classics, and are also set feature the usual accessories including swords, axes and maces. Unfortunately, production shots sent from the factory of the line’s first figure, the Gold Lion, have revealed that although the sculpt is pretty much spot on, both arms and head are wildly disproportionate to the body… a new 3D print has been readied (pictured above), that will be moulded, reproduced and articulated before heading back to the factory in China soon… Alongside the 80mm Gold Lion, Jon has also been working on 2 new figures on a smaller scale, the 60mm Rhino, and an as yet unrevealed sidekick. These will also be making their way into production soon (as long as Jon can secure the original $25-$30 price point), so be sure to check back soon as we bring you more details on this awesome looking series…

MAN-E-NEWS// Double Haunt’s latest resin figure teaser…

Australian duo Double Haunt recently teased a rather tentative image of their latest resin release featuring a set of fangs… well today we can reveal the figure’s full head sculpt in all its glory! Slightly differing from their usual Neo-Traditional approach, the piece still appears to hold their signature tattoo inspired aesthetic, although from the scales it would appear that it will be borrowing from the classic Japanese style this time around. Details on pricing and release dates are still to be confirmed, so be sure to stay locked on the Double Haunt blog for more information. Anyone interested in picking up any of the couple’s earlier work will be glad to know that the newly refurbished store is still stocking a wide variety of pieces, including our favourite, the adorable Mr Spook…

MAN-E-NEWS// Clinton Yaws’ Egyptian themed custom Tuttz…

Fresh from the sell-out success of the Pharaoh Hounds series 3 last week, Argonaut Resins proudly present the latest custom in the Artist Series, the Egyptian themed Tuttz from Clinton Yaws! In keeping with the figure’s aesthetic, Yaws’ mind blowing creation takes direct inspiration from King Tutankhamun’s sarcophagus, with the meticulous blue and gold custom featuring various authentic symbols and imagery… even going as far as to turn the tail into the crook from the  original burial coffin! Yaws kindly explains a bit more about the piece-

“The head is done after the mummy mask of Tutankhamun.  Below on the breast is a winged scarab pectoral representing the god Khepri, the rising sun, pushing the sun disc above the horizon.  The left side contains the white vulture image of Nekhbet, the right the image of Uraeus is a symbol for the goddess Wadjet, who was one of the earliest Egyptian deities and who often was depicted as a cobra. Combined they are know in Ancient Egyptian texts as, Two Ladies, the deities who were the patrons of the Ancient Egyptians and worshiped by all after the unification of its two parts, Lower Egypt, and Upper Egypt.”

Due to drop tonight (June 14th) at 9pm EST on the Argonaut Resins store, Yaws’ Tuttz will also be joined by the very last Pharoah Hound from series 3, the white pearl rendered “Majestic”. Priced at $85 plus shipping, the 8″ tall hand cast figure comes with the usual signed and numbered custom box plus certificate of authenticity…

Head over to the store to check out a huge selection of past releases, including the awesome Mini Prophecy Vader, Buddha and Frozen Fett…

MAN-E-NEWS// BIG-MAN Keshi: Wave 1 from Bigman Toys…

Previously featured here a couple of weeks back, Bigman Toys’ Jumbo-Kaggra custom keshi is set to be joined by another 3 figures for the first official wave of BIG-MAN Keshi! Priced at just £5 ($8) per figure, these guys are available in “all the colours of the ‘bow” (opaque only), by hitting Bigman up directly at happyburbridge@googlemail.com. Here’s a quick rundown on the awesome newcomers-

Micro-Keshi// Easily our favourite of the trio, Micro-Keshi combines Bigman’s love of Micronauts and M.U.S.C.L.E with flair. Based on the Time Traveler design, the figure comes with a TT head, boots, and the best part… a removable chest plate than can be interchanged with the original toys! A truly brilliant mash-up…

Battle-Bride// “Jilted at the altar, mutated by sheer rage. Lucy Silverstein, 28, went on a one woman lifestyle quest of constant battle everywhere, all the time, when her dreams of matrimony were dashed. Maybe one day she will find the man who abandoned her, and rest. Until then, this barefoot buff battling beauty, is out for blood!”. With female characters almost non-existent in M.U.S.C.L.E, this rather top-heavy warrior makes a refreshing change to the usual customs. Coming bagged and tagged, Bigman has gone for an awesome  90’s “dojinshi” influenced design for the headers…

Men-Man// “When is a man more than a man? When he’s several!! It’s Men-man! Gifted and cursed with the power of group rationality, group indecisiveness, and two lazer axes He roams the galaxy, never able to settle, often making absolutely no difference for hundreds of years”. On receiving a Roboblinks/Blockman Pilot a while back, Bigman decided to work on a bigger figure (2″) that incorporated the micros, the result being Men-Man! Staying true to the 80’s Macross/Dougram/Diaclone aesthetic, Bigman will be revealing header art for this little guy soon…

MAN-E-NEWS// The “White and Red” resin series from Patient No.6…
