MAN-E-NEWS// The “Kesagake’s Revenge ” Kaibutsuya sofubi from Rampage Toys…

First teased here just a couple of weeks back, we can now reveal the latest figure from Rampage Toys‘ ongoing Kaibutsuya (Giant Monster Animal Shop) series – dubbed Kesagake’s Revenge – in full! Whilst the original Kesagake was based on the infamous Sankebetsu Brown Bear of Hokkaido Higuma – who was subsequently killed after the worst bear attack in Japanese history – it would appear from the “Revenge” monicker that this is actually the same bear, albeit with some neat “mecha” additions to fight off those pesky Higuma settlers once and for good! Debuting as a one-off test paint at Rampage Studios’ Halloween ’15 group show last Friday (pictured below courtesy of collector Pinosa), we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for the first official painted run at DCon ’15 in just a couple of weeks time…

Following the success of his “Necro” release late last year, Gorgoloid has once again teamed up with MechaVirus for another run of custom Ammonaitos! Featuring the sea dwelling beast in a white Japanese soft vinyl this time around, each 9.5cm x 25cm figure has been treated to a selection of one-off Monster Kolor sprays and hand painted detailing. Limited to an edition of just 4 for this release, each figure comes signed and dated for just $75 (TBC) plus shipping. Look out for them in the Gorgoloid store this Wednesday, November 4th at 6pm Pacific time…

Taking a leaf out of Ilu Ilu’s book with their recent “Cyber Future Techno Loader” release, sofubi producers Sun Guts have just revealed that they will have a similar mini “Monster Tank” set ready for release at Design Fiesta 42 later this month! Consisting of 3 articulated minis – 2 tanks and a rocket launcher – the trio have been sculpted by Sun Guts’ Ichinomiya Tadayoshi, coming cast in an unpainted magenta soft vinyl for their first outing. Up for grabs at the event starting Saturday, November 21st, the “Soft Vinyl Monster Tank” set has been priced at just 500yen ($4). Here’s hoping we see a worldwide release soon!

Kenth Toy Works are proud to reveal that their collaboration with SIX F – Naminori Kaijin Oron – will be featuring as a one-off custom in Clutter Gallery‘s “Nihonsei” (Made in Japan) group show later this month! Standing at a lofty 8.6″ tall with a 10″ sharkboard accessory, the driftwood and coral infused surfer dude has been produced in a clear soft vinyl this time around, coming with hand cast resin guts, brushed detailing and a selection of semi-translucent sprays over a black rub base. Up for grabs at the show’s opening on Saturday, November 14th, pricing for the figure is still to be confirmed… Look out for more Nihonsei reveals as we get closer to the event over the next couple of weeks!

California-based artist Dave Linares over at Akashik Records’ Soft Vinyl Toys (ARSVT for short!) is proud to introduce his first ever vinyl figure, the awesome Bear Death God! Drawing inspiration from right across sofubi and neo kaiju, the mid-large size figure features a beautifully textured, 2-headed design akin to Skull Head Butt’s Demon Cyclops figure, coming complete with 5 points of articulation and both pick and battle axe accessories. Hot on the heals of his recent work on GEEK!’s Requiemer of Sun and Death plus his own self produced toy “Chikidon”, artist PicoPico has just unveiled yet another figure inspired by ancient tribal art, the stunning Rinne! Designed and sculpted by the artist with prototyping duties handed over to Dream Rocket’s Yajima Junichi, the living buddhist statue stands at an impressive 9″ tall, coming with articulation in the arms, legs and head. Debuting in a grey cast “Large Bodhisattiva” colorway for it’s debut outing, Rinne will be touching down in the Medicom Toy store via preorder starting Tuesday, November 24th, coming in at just 7,560yen ($63) plus shipping…

Comet Debris‘ Koji Harmon has revealed that he’ll be customising a batch of his “Garak” Suns of Brodarr sofubi for release at Designer Con later this month! Featuring the standard 5.5″ SoB body, the Gravy Toys produced figure has been treated to an all-new frog/kappa head and arm courtesy of Harmon, coming cast in a GID soft vinyl and sprayed in a mix of neon green and purple in the example you see above. Going on sale at the Comet Debris DCon booth (#1106) starting November 21st, expect to see more of Garak – as well as exclusive runs of the rest of Koji’s extensive line-up – as we get closer to the event…

Releasing in super-limited numbers earlier in the year, the super-creepy “NutiPati” vinyl figure from Purple Toys and Unbox Industries is set to return for a special joint release at Designer Con ’15 and online this month! Whilst we don’t have any specific information to go on at present, it would appear that the peanut deity stands around 8″-9″ tall, coming with 5 points of articulation as well as a fully removable ceremonial mask. Produced by Unbox in a breathtaking mix of clear purple and blue soft vinyl, the latest version of NutiPati will be touching down online this week and at DCon on November 21st for just $80 a piece… Here’s hoping for word on the first painted edition soon!

With Designer Con ’15 just a few weeks away now, our very own Tru:Tek has set about working on a number of exclusives he’ll have up for grabs at the event… starting with the stunning WIP Oozeball custom you see above! Whilst details are still pretty thin on the ground at present, it would appear from the pic that the orange/purple hand paint will be joined by a number of other one-offs and painted micro-runs, including (TBC) blank black versions of the ball plus a limited redo of Tru:Tek’s original bloodied “Frank” custom (check it here). To be joined by a number of other figures including – fingers crossed! – the debut of Gory Hole’s Warui Zonbi finger puppets, we suggest keeping a close eye on Tru:Tek’s Instagram feed here for all his latest release updates ahead of DCon’s opening on November 21st…

Originally teased in prototype form right here back in May, the “Nekomata Jijyo” sofubi from Shirahama Toy has just been revealed in-full and he’s bringing along another new figure for the ride! Whilst information on the mid-large size piece is still thin on the ground at present, we can at least now confirm that he features a total of 7 points of articulation, including neat two-headed and twin-tailed details. Pictured here in a stunning marbled red and black soft vinyl, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that Nekomata Jijyo – and his as-yet-untitled wolf companion – make their debut soon…
