MAN-E-NEWS// The “Kesagake’s Revenge ” Kaibutsuya sofubi from Rampage Toys…

First teased here just a couple of weeks back, we can now reveal the latest figure from Rampage Toys‘ ongoing Kaibutsuya (Giant Monster Animal Shop) series – dubbed Kesagake’s Revenge – in full! Whilst the original Kesagake was based on the infamous Sankebetsu Brown Bear of Hokkaido Higuma – who was subsequently killed after the worst bear attack in Japanese history – it would appear from the “Revenge” monicker that this is actually the same bear, albeit with some neat “mecha” additions to fight off those pesky Higuma settlers once and for good! Debuting as a one-off test paint at Rampage Studios’ Halloween ’15 group show last Friday (pictured below courtesy of collector Pinosa), we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for the first official painted run at DCon ’15 in just a couple of weeks time…

MAN-E-NEWS// The Gorgoloid X Mechavirus custom Ammonaito sofubi micro-run…

Following the success of his “Necro” release late last year, Gorgoloid has once again teamed up with MechaVirus for another run of custom Ammonaitos! Featuring the sea dwelling beast in a white Japanese soft vinyl this time around, each 9.5cm x 25cm figure has been treated to a selection of one-off Monster Kolor sprays and hand painted detailing. Limited to an edition of just 4 for this release, each figure comes signed and dated for just $75 (TBC) plus shipping. Look out for them in the Gorgoloid store this Wednesday, November 4th at 6pm Pacific time…

MAN-E-NEWS// The Monster Tank sofubi set from Sun Guts…

Taking a leaf out of Ilu Ilu’s book with their recent “Cyber Future Techno Loader” release, sofubi producers Sun Guts have just revealed that they will have a similar mini “Monster Tank” set ready for release at Design Fiesta 42 later this month! Consisting of 3 articulated minis – 2 tanks and a rocket launcher – the trio have been sculpted by Sun Guts’ Ichinomiya Tadayoshi, coming cast in an unpainted magenta soft vinyl for their first outing. Up for grabs at the event starting Saturday, November 21st, the “Soft Vinyl Monster Tank” set has been priced at just 500yen ($4). Here’s hoping we see a worldwide release soon!

MAN-E-NEWS// Kenth Toy Works’ custom Naminori Kaijin Oron for Clutter’s “Nihonsei” group show…

Kenth Toy Works are proud to reveal that their collaboration with SIX F – Naminori Kaijin Oron – will be featuring as a one-off custom in Clutter Gallery‘s “Nihonsei” (Made in Japan) group show later this month! Standing at a lofty 8.6″ tall with a 10″ sharkboard accessory, the driftwood and coral infused surfer dude has been produced in a clear soft vinyl this time around, coming with hand cast resin guts, brushed detailing and a selection of semi-translucent sprays over a black rub base. Up for grabs at the show’s opening on Saturday, November 14th, pricing for the figure is still to be confirmed… Look out for more Nihonsei reveals as we get closer to the event over the next couple of weeks!

MAN-E-NEWS// The “Bear Death God” vinyl figure from Akashik (ARSVT)…

California-based artist Dave Linares over at Akashik Records’ Soft Vinyl Toys (ARSVT for short!) is proud to introduce his first ever vinyl figure, the awesome Bear Death God! Drawing inspiration from right across sofubi and neo kaiju, the mid-large size figure features a beautifully textured, 2-headed design akin to Skull Head Butt’s Demon Cyclops figure, coming complete with 5 points of articulation and both pick and battle axe accessories. Due to be produced in soft vinyl following a Kickstarter campaign soon, be sure to look out for more details on this intriguing new figure over the following weeks…

Hot on the heals of his recent work on GEEK!’s Requiemer of Sun and Death plus his own self produced toy “Chikidon”, artist PicoPico has just unveiled yet another figure inspired by ancient tribal art, the stunning Rinne! Designed and sculpted by the artist with prototyping duties handed over to Dream Rocket’s Yajima Junichi, the living buddhist statue stands at an impressive 9″ tall, coming with articulation in the arms, legs and head. Debuting in a grey cast “Large Bodhisattiva” colorway for it’s debut outing, Rinne will be touching down in the Medicom Toy store via preorder starting Tuesday, November 24th, coming in at just 7,560yen ($63) plus shipping…

MAN-E-NEWS// Comet Debris’ custom “Garak” sofubi for DCon ’15…

Comet Debris‘ Koji Harmon has revealed that he’ll be customising a batch of his “Garak” Suns of Brodarr sofubi for release at Designer Con later this month! Featuring the standard 5.5″ SoB body, the Gravy Toys produced figure has been treated to an all-new frog/kappa head and arm courtesy of Harmon, coming cast in a GID soft vinyl and sprayed in a mix of neon green and purple in the example you see above. Going on sale at the Comet Debris DCon booth (#1106) starting November 21st, expect to see more of Garak – as well as exclusive runs of the rest of Koji’s extensive line-up – as we get closer to the event…

MAN-E-NEWS// The new “NutiPati” vinyl figure from Purple Toys x Unbox Industries…

Releasing in super-limited numbers earlier in the year, the super-creepy “NutiPati” vinyl figure from Purple Toys and Unbox Industries is set to return for a special joint release at Designer Con ’15 and online this month! Whilst we don’t have any specific information to go on at present, it would appear that the peanut deity stands around 8″-9″ tall, coming with 5 points of articulation as well as a fully removable ceremonial mask. Produced by Unbox in a breathtaking mix of clear purple and blue soft vinyl, the latest version of NutiPati will be touching down online this week and at DCon on November 21st for just $80 a piece… Here’s hoping for word on the first painted edition soon!

MAN-E-NEWS// Tru:Tek’s Designer Con ’15 exclusive Oozeball sofubi teased…

With Designer Con ’15 just a few weeks away now, our very own Tru:Tek has set about working on a number of exclusives he’ll have up for grabs at the event… starting with the stunning WIP Oozeball custom you see above! Whilst details are still pretty thin on the ground at present, it would appear from the pic that the orange/purple hand paint will be joined by a number of other one-offs and painted micro-runs, including (TBC) blank black versions of the ball plus a limited redo of Tru:Tek’s original bloodied “Frank” custom (check it here). To be joined by a number of other figures including – fingers crossed! – the debut of Gory Hole’s Warui Zonbi finger puppets, we suggest keeping a close eye on Tru:Tek’s Instagram feed here for all his latest release updates ahead of DCon’s opening on November 21st…

The guys behind elusive Japanese sofubi house Ilu Ilu have just revealed that their breathtaking “Cyber Future Techno Loader” sofubi will be returning this month in 2 Medicom exclusive colorways! Heavily inspired by the likes of Transformers and Micronauts, the stunning 6″ tall figure – dubbed Commander Victor (red) and (blue) – comes packed with a set of 4 individually boxed mini robots in Ilu Ilu’s signature deluxe window display. Due to touch down in the Medicom Toy store via open preorder starting Tuesday, October 24th, the Cyber Future Techno Loader sets have been priced at 32,400yen ($269) each plus shipping…

The Elder Demon Series 1 sofubi is set to return today for a special Halloween release! Designed by DeathCat Toys’ Johan Ulrich and sculpted by KtoKto, the 2.5″ tall Bikkuriman/Ma-Ba-style split torso minis – Oni Mira and the Red Pharoah – have been produced in an unpainted flesh tone soft vinyl this time around, coming bagged with a holographic sticker for just $35 plus shipping. Limited to just 10 sets this time around, the Elder Demons will be touching down in the DeathCat Toys store at 10pm Eastern time tonight (10/31)…

MAN-E-NEWS// Shirahama Toy’s “Nekomata Jijyo” sofubi revealed…

Originally teased in prototype form right here back in May, the “Nekomata Jijyo” sofubi from Shirahama Toy has just been revealed in-full and he’s bringing along another new figure for the ride! Whilst information on the mid-large size piece is still thin on the ground at present, we can at least now confirm that he features a total of 7 points of articulation, including neat two-headed and twin-tailed details. Pictured here in a stunning marbled red and black soft vinyl, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that Nekomata Jijyo – and his as-yet-untitled wolf companion – make their debut soon…

First seen right here a few weeks back, the debut version of Retroband‘s highly anticipated “Meats” vinyl figure has just been revealed in-full! A loving tribute to both classic zombie and body horror flicks, the decaying, deformed creep stands at a round 12″ tall, featuring articulation in the arms, legs and neck as well as coming with both cleaver and meat hook accessories. Produced by Unbox Industries in a tan soft vinyl for his first outing, Meats has been treated to a plethora of subtle earthy sprays and hand brushed detailing courtesy of Retroband’s Aaron Moreno. Debuting in limited quantities at the Retroband x Miscreation Toys Designer Con ’15 booth next month, expect full release details for this must-have figure over the next couple of weeks…

In honour of their long standing relationship in the in the world of toys, Splurrt has been hard at work on a special “Uglier Unicorn” figure for Rampage Toys! Designed and sculpted by Splurrt based on Rampage’s first ever sofubi, the Ugly Unicorn, this new version features a similar 2-part, arms-up design, albeit with some extra hideous new features. Unveiled in test shot form at the Rampage Studios Halloween Group Show last night (above), we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that the little guy debuts at Designer Con ’15 next month…

Teased just a few days back, we can now reveal the full release details for the upcoming “Blackmass” Alavaka Bodhisattiva from Devils Head Productions! Marking the first painted release of the new Bodhisattiva head, the 5″ tall Alavaka has been cast in a flesh tone soft vinyl this time around, coming with maroon and brown sprays over a detail hugging black rub. Packed with a matching OG Alavaka head for just $60 plus shipping, the “Blackmass” Bodhisattiva will be touching down in the DHP store at some point this Saturday, October 31st…

MAN-E-NEWS// The “Hallow’s Eve Experiment” Franken Corpse keshi from Radioactive Uppercut…

Having had a huge response to the initial preorder release last month, John Santagada over at Radioactive Uppercut is proud to reveal that his “Franken Corpse” Finks, Freaks and Spazzes keshi will be returning today for a special “Hallow’s Eve Experiment” release! Drawing inspiration from the likes of Ed Roth’s Rat Fink, gross-out toys such as the Madballs and cult figures, the Ma-Ba Zombies, the mummified monster was designed by John, coming sculpted by the legendary David Arshawsky of Turtle Milk Studios at a super-chunky 3″ tall and nearly 2″ wide. The “Halloween Orange” Slugbeard// Standing at a monstrous 10″ tall and the same wide, this creature from the deep has been produced in a stunning unpainted orange vinyl this time around, coming complete with wrecking ball omake attached by a real metal chain. Priced at $175 plus shipping, Slugbeard will be available by the usual lottery system starting today (10/30) at Noon Pacific time. The “Halloween” Gacha Mini Set// Joining Big Foot, Paul Kaiju’s Gacha Mini Set has also been treated to the orange and black marble treatment. Following the sellout debut of the first “Secret Chief” keshi last month, DRWG Co are proud to reveal that the Slave is returning this week for a special Halloween-themed release! First seen in companion publication “Secret Chiefs Zine: Vol. 1″, the club wielding booger is the first in a series of 3 Bikkuriman-inspired sculpts, coming in at a super-chunky 2.5″ tall and nearly 2″ wide. Produced in a keshi-style rubber by our very own Tru:Tek at the Disart ToyLabs, the Slave has been cast in a “Psychoactive Slime” pink inspired by Ghostbusters 2 for the release.
