Originally seeing a limited resin release at Toy Art Gallery back in May, the Mad Wrestlers from Monster Island are finally getting a release in rubber courtesy of the Disart ToyLabs this weekend! Heavily inspired by the Weirdballs mini figure off-shoots, these ingenious little guys feature modified KO Madball popper heads that have been kit-bashed with a number of different M.U.S.C.L.E bodies. Featuring a total of 6 different designs from Monster Island’s Paul Bas – 3 more than the original release – the group have all been recast by the Disart ToyLabs’ Tru:Tek in a flexible, UV resistant rubber. Coming packed on authentic, hand cut “Madballs Vs. M.U.S.C.L.E” cardbacks featuring art from AshMadeThis, the figures will be making their keshi debut in 2 different limited edition colorways – a vibrant “Lime Green” and the standard “Flesh-tone” – both coming in at just $55 a set plus shipping. Wasting no time since the final release in their debut series “Galaxy Commanders” last week, the team behind Skullmark are proud to reveal that their next upcoming sofubi project – the “SkullWorld Warriors” – is already entering the final prototyping stages! As with the Galaxy Commanders, the series has its foot planted firmly in the world of vintage knock off action figures, this time around drawing inspiration from the classic Underworld Warriors of the 1980’s. Featuring a similar, albeit slightly chunkier body to the original 5.5″ figures, the upscaled series is set to include all 6 heads – Krampus, Cobraman, the Devil, Skull, Goblin and Witch – from the original line. Due to go on sale via preorder in the Toy Underground store next week, we’re told that all 6 designs will be available as a complete set from the off. The fifth figure to feature in the ongoing series, the infamous reptilian wrassler has been faithfully realised by TTToy’s Makino-san, standing in-scale with previous releases at around 4.5″ tall and coming with similar articulation in the waist and arms. With the past 2 months seeing Medicom Toy re-release Anraku Ansaku’s legendary “Zoromederu” and “Gogamejira”, the Japanese toy giant is planning to go one step further with their next collaboration, unleashing all-new figure “Pokopon the Raccoon” (たぬきのぽこぽん) and variant “Panda/PanFutoshi Ron” (パンダのぱん太ロン). Beautifully sculpted in classic vintage sofubi proportions, the adorable duo share the same general body and shape, differentiated by Pokopon’s longer tail and Ron’s cap and vinyl waist coat. Standing at just under 10″ tall and featuring 6 points of articulation, the pair have been produced in what appears to be pink and GID soft vinyl for their first outing, coming complete with matching masked black, cream and blue sprays. Going on sale via open preorder through the Medicom Toy store starting Thursday, September 24th, both have been priced at just 10,800yen ($89) each plus shipping. But that’s not all! Featuring many of the same pieces that were on display at Singapore’s Paradise, these will be joined by a few exclusive runs, including the pictured “Pink Glitter” Byron and gorgeous “GID” Rangeron – a release that perfectly mimics T9G’s (pictured) GID Rangeas that was released way back in 2007. After months of teasers on Instagram, Shigeo Endo over at Bukimi Blasters is proud to reveal that his third sofubi, Psycho Monster “The Mole Man” will finally be up for grabs in it’s “Phase 1″ colorway next week! Designed and hand sculpted by Shigeo, the hideous creation appears to be much taller than past releases at around 8” (TBC), coming complete with 5 points of articulation and an as-yet-unrevealed omake accessory for the “reeding of the Mole Man”. Originally teased in our coverage of Joe Whiteford’s custom a couple of weeks back (check it here), we can now finally reveal Blackseed‘s “Marshmallow Uncle” sofubi in-full! Designed and digitally sculpted by Blackseed’s Kenneth Tang and produced by Angel Abby, the stunning figure has been heavily inspired by Ghostbusters’ Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, featuring a similar “bubble” design that features a number of additional resin cast parts, including a Alien-esque chest busting parasite, eyes, teeth and sailor hat… Making it’s debut as part of a group exhibition at Angel Abby’s Hong Kong-based store soon, the figure is due to touch down in 3 different colorways; the pictured “OG” white, unpainted clear and GID, coming in at just $700HK ($90) each.
