Lee Burbridge over at Bigmantoys has just unveiled his latest mini figure project, taking on one of cult horror flick The Puppet Master’s lead antagonists, the Tunneler! Meticulously realised by Lee in Z-Brush, the digital sculpt follows a similar aesthetic to the classic Kinnikuman/M.U.S.C.L.E line – albeit with Charles Band‘s distinct air of horror – presumably come in-scale with the iconic minis at around 2″ tall. Whilst licensing for the figure is still to be confirmed, official or not, we’ll be hoping to see the figure in a keshi-style flexible rubber soon…

First seen at the Hong Kong Toy Fair way back in January (check it here), the “Big Uamou” soft vinyl figure from Uamou x Unbox Industries is now finally up for grabs! A perfectly up-scaled rendition of Uamou’s classic horned mini, the toy-come-art piece stands at just under 12″ tall, coming complete with articulation in the neck. Produced by Unbox in a choice of classic “White” and “Black” colorways, the pair can currently be found in the Uamou online store right here for just 9,000yen ($72) each plus shipping. We’re told to look out for a number of new colorways and one-off customs of the figure soon, the first coming in the form of a special Silver “Ultrauamou” for TCJ50 that we’ll be sharing with you guys next week…

Fresh from the success of the “Slimey Siamese” release last month, the guys over at apparel brand Scumbags and Superstars are proud to present the second figure in their ongoing Slimeballs line, the Melting Man! Based on an original character design from longtime S&S collaborator Sexual Youkai, the suitably gross-looking ball has once again been hand sculpted by artist Chris Grondin at around 3″ wide, coming cast in an authentic latex foam similar to the original Madballs and layered with a ton of sprays and brushed detailing. Hot on the heals of last month’s “Dump Golem” release, sofubi producers Target Earth are proud to reveal the latest figure in their “Freaks Deathmatch” series, the Lowbrow Golem! Said to be inspired by Marmit’s vintage Para Baby Dustman figure, the hideous creature stands at around 11″ tall, coming complete with articulation in the arms and legs. Produced in a similar green vinyl to the original Dustman release, the figure comes complete with similarly authentic metallic sprays and hand brushed detailing. Fresh from this week’s “Blank Black” release (check it here), Splurrt/Secretoy’s hugely popular Cinema Monster sofubi is set to return as a painted micro-run courtesy of Paul Kaiju soon! Heavily inspired by the golden age of monster flicks – including both Ray Harryhausen’s classic Cyclops and the 2-headed “Galligantua” that graces the iconic cover of 1968′s Famous Monsters of Filmland yearbook – the lumbering 10″ tall beast has been produced in a glow-in-the-dark soft vinyl this time around, coming with layers of metallic sprays and hand brushed detailing courts of PK. Whilst we don’t have any specific release details to announce at present, we’ve been told that these will be available via lottery sales through the PK site over the coming weeks. Brian Mahony of Guumon fame has teamed up with the Disarticulators for a very special one-off custom, the “Titanium LED” Oozeball sofubi! Designed by Tru:Tek and sculpted by Zectron, the loving tribute to both Ooze-It and Madballs has been produced in a squishy clear soft vinyl this time around, coming with Guumon’s signature metallic “Titanium” paint app and fitted with a pop-switch, color changing LED. Created as part of Guumon’s group show “Kaiju Mashup”, which will be opening its doors today (8/14) at Tokyo’s Design Fiesta Gallery, be sure to head over to the artist’s dedicated Instagram feed here to check out the other amazing pieces on display… Look out for more readily available Guumon Oozeballs in the not too distant future!

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Ed Roth’s Rat Fink, gross-out toys such as the Madballs and cult figures the Ma-Ba Zombies, the initial line-up is set to feature a total of 3 very different miscreants – Franken Corpse, Coffin Licker and Spider Brains – all coming in at a super-chunky 3″ tall and nearly 2″ wide. We’ve got a bit of a double post here, as not only can we (partially!) reveal the latest collaborative sofubi from Angel Abby and Blackseed – Marshmallow Uncle – but we can also share the very first custom of the toy from none other than Joe Whiteford! Teased in a recent article with FACE magazine (pictured below), the jointly created piece has been heavily inspired by Ghostbusters’ Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, featuring a similar “bubble” design, albeit with a chest-busting alien thrown in for good measure… Making it’s debut as part of a group exhibition at Angel Abby’s Hong Kong-based store soon – hence the amazing Joe Whiteford custom you see above – the figure is due to touch down in 3 different colorways; “OG” white, blue and green, unpainted clear and GID, coming in at $700HK ($90) each. Originally seen as a one-off custom at Rampage Studios’ recent “Clash of the Titans” show, the 13″ tall figure features the MVH Krawluss head with the Berserker Ollie body, this time coming cast in a blue slate colored vinyl with dark grey, metallic blue, silver and copper sprays with unique blood splatters and embellishments. Shigeru Arai of NagNagNag has just revealed that the latest iteration of the elusive “Boryoku Genjin” Nag doll will finally be making it’s debut this week! Based on the Nag design seen in Shigeru’s recent YouTube claymation (which was sadly taken down as quick as it was put up!), the incredibly detailed figure appears to stand quite a bit taller than previous versions at around 12″, coming complete with articulation in the shoulders, elbows, legs and head. Produced in a grey vinyl with stunning light blue, flesh and red sprays, the all-new Boryoku Genjin will be making its debut at an undisclosed location – presumably Mishka Tokyo – at Midnight Japan time this Saturday, August 15th. Originally teased in prototype form a couple of weeks back, we can now reveal TTToy’s “Chupacabra” sofubi in-full! The fifth figure to feature in the officially-licensed IWA Japan sofubi series, the infamous reptilian has been faithfully realised by TTToy’s Makino-san, standing in-scale with previous releases at around 4.5″ tall and coming with similar articulation in the waist and arms. Debuting in an authentic metallic green, red and beige paint app, a limited batch of just 20 will be made available at Tokyo’s Gatomubu Korakuen Hall tournament for just 2,000yen ($16) each. Look out for a full, official release in the Hinomaru-ya store on Tuesday, September 1st. No news on overseas sales at present, but you can be sure that Lulubell Toys will secure a limited batch of the figure for western customers soon…

Originally teased in digital form a couple of months back, the new 3D printed “Mockbat” from Paul Kaiju and Unbox Industries has just been revealed in glorious prototype form! Digitally scanned from Paul’s iconic 8″ Mockbat design, the piece has been reduced to around the same scale as your standard action figure at 4″ tall, coming complete with the same articulation in the arms, legs, tail, head and belly as the original. Whilst we’re still not too sure of the future for the piece – there’s a good chance it will remain as an un-produced experiment at the moment – you can be sure that as soon as we find out, you guys will be the first in the know… Fingers crossed on Mockbats for the masses though, right?!
