MAN-E-NEWS// Bigmantoys’ “Tunneler” Puppet Master keshi revealed…

Lee Burbridge over at Bigmantoys has just unveiled his latest mini figure project, taking on one of cult horror flick The Puppet Master’s lead antagonists, the Tunneler! Meticulously realised by Lee in Z-Brush, the digital sculpt follows a similar aesthetic to the classic Kinnikuman/M.U.S.C.L.E line – albeit with Charles Band‘s distinct air of horror – presumably come in-scale with the iconic minis at around 2″ tall. Whilst licensing for the figure is still to be confirmed, official or not, we’ll be hoping to see the figure in a keshi-style flexible rubber soon…

MAN-E-NEWS// The “Black” and “White” Big Uamou soft vinyl figure from Uamou x Unbox Industries…

First seen at the Hong Kong Toy Fair way back in January (check it here), the “Big Uamou” soft vinyl figure from Uamou x Unbox Industries is now finally up for grabs! A perfectly up-scaled rendition of Uamou’s classic horned mini, the toy-come-art piece stands at just under 12″ tall, coming complete with articulation in the neck. Produced by Unbox in a choice of classic “White” and “Black” colorways, the pair can currently be found in the Uamou online store right here for just 9,000yen ($72) each plus shipping. We’re told to look out for a number of new colorways and one-off customs of the figure soon, the first coming in the form of a special Silver “Ultrauamou” for TCJ50 that we’ll be sharing with you guys next week…

MAN-E-NEWS// Scumbags and Superstars’ “Melting Man” Slimeball revealed…

Fresh from the success of the “Slimey Siamese” release last month, the guys over at apparel brand Scumbags and Superstars are proud to present the second figure in their ongoing Slimeballs line, the Melting Man! Based on an original character design from longtime S&S collaborator Sexual Youkai, the suitably gross-looking ball has once again been hand sculpted by artist Chris Grondin at around 3″ wide, coming cast in an authentic latex foam similar to the original Madballs and layered with a ton of sprays and brushed detailing. Due to go on sale in extremely limited numbers via e-mail lottery for around $100 plus shipping, expect the full lowdown on how to enter soon…

MAN-E-NEWS// The “Lowbrow Golem” sofubi from Target Earth…

Hot on the heals of last month’s “Dump Golem” release, sofubi producers Target Earth are proud to reveal the latest figure in their “Freaks Deathmatch” series, the Lowbrow Golem! Said to be inspired by Marmit’s vintage Para Baby Dustman figure, the hideous creature stands at around 11″ tall, coming complete with articulation in the arms and legs. Produced in a similar green vinyl to the original Dustman release, the figure comes complete with similarly authentic metallic sprays and hand brushed detailing. Currently available via limited e-mail sales for just 15,000yen ($120) plus shipping, interested parties are going to need to hit up shono-kikaku@m1.ffn.ne.jp, making sure to include your full name in the subject title, plus your address, postal code, telephone number and product name in the body…

MAN-E-NEWS// The Paul Kaiju “Cinema Monster” micro-run revealed…

Fresh from this week’s “Blank Black” release (check it here), Splurrt/Secretoy’s hugely popular Cinema Monster sofubi is set to return as a painted micro-run courtesy of Paul Kaiju soon! Heavily inspired by the golden age of monster flicks – including both Ray Harryhausen’s classic Cyclops and the 2-headed “Galligantua” that graces the iconic cover of 1968′s Famous Monsters of Filmland yearbook – the lumbering 10″ tall beast has been produced in a glow-in-the-dark soft vinyl this time around, coming with layers of metallic sprays and hand brushed detailing courts of PK. Whilst we don’t have any specific release details to announce at present, we’ve been told that these will be available via lottery sales through the PK site over the coming weeks. Brian Mahony of Guumon fame has teamed up with the Disarticulators for a very special one-off custom, the “Titanium LED” Oozeball sofubi! Designed by Tru:Tek and sculpted by Zectron, the loving tribute to both Ooze-It and Madballs has been produced in a squishy clear soft vinyl this time around, coming with Guumon’s signature metallic “Titanium” paint app and fitted with a pop-switch, color changing LED. Created as part of Guumon’s group show “Kaiju Mashup”, which will be opening its doors today (8/14) at Tokyo’s Design Fiesta Gallery, be sure to head over to the artist’s dedicated Instagram feed here to check out the other amazing pieces on display… Look out for more readily available Guumon Oozeballs in the not too distant future!

MAN-E-NEWS// Radioactive Uppercut’s “Freaks, Finks and Spazzes” keshi revealed in-full…

Originally teased here just last week, we can now reveal the debut keshi line from Radioactive Uppercut – Freaks, Finks and Spazzes – in-full! Drawing inspiration from the likes of Ed Roth’s Rat Fink, gross-out toys such as the Madballs and cult figures the Ma-Ba Zombies, the initial line-up is set to feature a total of 3 very different miscreants – Franken Corpse, Coffin Licker and Spider Brains – all coming in at a super-chunky 3″ tall and nearly 2″ wide. Due to be produced in a keshi-style soft resin courtesy of our very own Tru:Tek and the Disart ToyLabs soon, expect to hear more about these awesome figures a little closer to their first release next month…

MAN-E-NEWS// The custom Angel Abby x Blackseed “Marshmallow Uncle” sofubi from Joe Whiteford…

We’ve got a bit of a double post here, as not only can we (partially!) reveal the latest collaborative sofubi from Angel Abby and Blackseed – Marshmallow Uncle – but we can also share the very first custom of the toy from none other than Joe Whiteford! Teased in a recent article with FACE magazine (pictured below), the jointly created piece has been heavily inspired by Ghostbusters’ Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, featuring a similar “bubble” design, albeit with a chest-busting alien thrown in for good measure… Making it’s debut as part of a group exhibition at Angel Abby’s Hong Kong-based store soon – hence the amazing Joe Whiteford custom you see above – the figure is due to touch down in 3 different colorways; “OG” white, blue and green, unpainted clear and GID, coming in at $700HK ($90) each. Look out for more details on both the event and figure over the coming weeks…

In celebration of his first year working full time in toys, Mutant Vinyl Hardcore‘s Rich Montanari Jr has just unveiled 2 massive releases he has up for grabs over the next few days! First up, we have the first official ru of Leviathan, the “First Bite” edition. Originally seen as a one-off custom at Rampage Studios’ recent “Clash of the Titans” show, the 13″ tall figure features the MVH Krawluss head with the Berserker Ollie body, this time coming cast in a blue slate colored vinyl with dark grey, metallic blue, silver and copper sprays with unique blood splatters and embellishments. Packed with a whole host of goodies, including a haunted axe, severed head and trident weapons, Berserker sticker, hand painted unique MVH paper with metal rim tag, plus a goodie bag of shark gummy candy. Priced at just $215 plus shipping, anyone interested in a chance at bagging the beast is going to need to fill out the dedicated online lottery form here before close at Midnight Eastern time tonight (8/14)…

Joining the “Test Bite” Leviathan, Rich will be delving into the MVH back catalog for a very special webshop release, the “Jet Black” Sludge Demons! Sittiing at around 4″ tall, the classic figure has been produced in an unpainted black vinyl this time around, coming packed in a net bag with two MVH stickers, one button and a metal rimmed paper MVH hanging tag. Priced at just $65 each, the Sludge Demons will be touching down in the MVH store this coming Sunday, August 16th at Noon Eastern time…

Montreal-based artist Max Charlton is proud to reveal the first toy from his new brand Sunken World, the adorable Maneki Neko! Designed, sculpted and produced by Max, the Totoro-esque figure stands at around 3″ tall, coming cast in a black resin and treated to meticulous white and gold hand painted detailing for its first release. Limited to an edition of just 9 pieces – each coming packed in their very own custom made box – the “Black Edition” Maneki Neko will be touching down in the Sunken World store this Friday, August 14th at 8pm Eastern time, coming in at just $33 each plus shipping…

Barry Williams aka Gorgoloid is proud to reveal that he’ll have a total of 3 new releases up for grabs in his online store this week! First up, we have the “Glow in the Dark” Kaiju Avilar run. Standing at around 6″ tall, the hand sculpted bird-beasts have been cast up in a GID resin this time around, coming complete with a variety of Monster Kolor dyes and sprays for $120 each. Next, we have the “Glow in the Dark” Fiji Mermaid. Once again produced in a GID resin, these 3.5″ long figures have been treated to a detail hugging black rub, coming in at just $35 each. Last, but by no means least, we have the Kaiju Chubs one-off. Standing at a super-chunky 5″ tall and featuring articulation in the arms, Chubs comes with a plethora of unique Monster Kolor sprays, brush work and dyes for the princely sum of just $85. MAN-E-NEWS// The new “Boryoku Genjin” sofubi from NagNagNag…

Shigeru Arai of NagNagNag has just revealed that the latest iteration of the elusive “Boryoku Genjin” Nag doll will finally be making it’s debut this week! Based on the Nag design seen in Shigeru’s recent YouTube claymation (which was sadly taken down as quick as it was put up!), the incredibly detailed figure appears to stand quite a bit taller than previous versions at around 12″, coming complete with articulation in the shoulders, elbows, legs and head. Produced in a grey vinyl with stunning light blue, flesh and red sprays, the all-new Boryoku Genjin will be making its debut at an undisclosed location – presumably Mishka Tokyo – at Midnight Japan time this Saturday, August 15th. Limited to just 10 figures, pricing is still to be confirmed…

Hot on the heals of the recently announced “Iron Monster” release from Skinner, Jeremi Rimel of Miscreation Toys has teamed up with yet another artist for a limited micro-run, proudly presenting the “My Pet Gergle” sofubi from Topheroy! Based on the artist’s original resin custom created way back in 2013 (check it here), Miscreation’s “Gergle” Autopsy Baby has been cast in a similar (albeit opaque) blue vinyl, coming complete with purple, red, teal and silver sprays, a removable eye and metal chain accessory- all inspired by cult 1980’s plush toy “My Pet Monster”. Limited to an edition of just 10 figures, the My Pet Gergles will be touching down in Topheroy’s store this Friday, August 15th for $200 plus shipping…

MAN-E-NEWS// TTToy x Hinomaru-ya’s IWA Japan “Chupacabra” sofubi revealed in-full…

Originally teased in prototype form a couple of weeks back, we can now reveal TTToy’s “Chupacabra” sofubi in-full! The fifth figure to feature in the officially-licensed IWA Japan sofubi series, the infamous reptilian has been faithfully realised by TTToy’s Makino-san, standing in-scale with previous releases at around 4.5″ tall and coming with similar articulation in the waist and arms. Debuting in an authentic metallic green, red and beige paint app, a limited batch of just 20 will be made available at Tokyo’s Gatomubu Korakuen Hall tournament for just 2,000yen ($16) each. Look out for a full, official release in the Hinomaru-ya store on Tuesday, September 1st. No news on overseas sales at present, but you can be sure that Lulubell Toys will secure a limited batch of the figure for western customers soon…

MAN-E-NEWS// Paul Kaiju x Unbox Industries’ “Mini Mockbat” prototype revealed…

Originally teased in digital form a couple of months back, the new 3D printed “Mockbat” from Paul Kaiju and Unbox Industries has just been revealed in glorious prototype form! Digitally scanned from Paul’s iconic 8″ Mockbat design, the piece has been reduced to around the same scale as your standard action figure at 4″ tall, coming complete with the same articulation in the arms, legs, tail, head and belly as the original. Whilst we’re still not too sure of the future for the piece – there’s a good chance it will remain as an un-produced experiment at the moment – you can be sure that as soon as we find out, you guys will be the first in the know… Fingers crossed on Mockbats for the masses though, right?!

Following a hugely successful opening over the weekend, Toy Art Gallery are proud to reveal that the remaining pieces from the “Twisted Planet” group show are now up for grabs online! Featuring a whole slew of one-off custom sofubi, limited runs and original paintings, personal highlights include the debut of Jason Harmon’s “Wolf Thing Bat Mother” and the “Chungaloids”, Martin Ontiveros’ “Magi Maleficarum” set’s long-awaited arrival in sofubi, 1/6th scale “Galaxy Bats” and “Gons” from Galaxy People, plus an awesome Micronauts-inspired “Clear Purple” Electric Boy from Comet Debris. With Elder Demons: Series 2 set to make its keshi debut soon, creator Johan Ulrich over at DeathCat Toys has wasted no time in working on a follow-up, proudly presenting the first female to the cast… The Fate! Once again designed by Johan and sculpted by KtoKto, the mystic beauty features a similar aesthetic to the first 4 characters, standing at a little under 3″ tall and featuring a Bukkuriman/Ma-Ba Zombies split torso, finger puppet style design. Likely to make a debut in keshi form courtesy of DuboseArt over the next few months, keep a look out for a full reveal of The Fate’s companion Series 3 figure soon…

Fresh from his “Thomas Blue” Astro Unkotsu release back in June, Japanese artist Goccodo is proud to present yet another figure finally available to overseas customers, the “Gold Rush” Kiaida-kun & Boomy sofubi! Designed and sculpted by Goccodo, the stunning figure stands at around 9″ tall, coming complete with 5 points of articulation, alternate Kiaida-kun and Boomy heads plus a removable insect claw. Produced in an eye-catching gold glitter infused soft vinyl with minimal gold and black sprays, the figure is currently up for grabs via lottery for just 8,500yen ($68) plus shipping. Legendary artist Skinner has just revealed that he’s the latest to take on Miscreation Toys‘ awesome “Iron Monster” sofubi, proudly presenting the “Vintage Robo” micro-run! Inspired by Dr Zorka’s robot in the 1939 scifi/ horror B-movie serial “The Phantom Creeps”, the towering 15″ figure was designed by Rimel, digitally sculpted by iamscumbag and produced in Japan courtesy of Grody Shogun. Cast in what appears to be a black soft vinyl this time around, the limited batch of just 6 figures have each been treated to a plethora of vintage-style sprays and rubs courtesy of Skinner. Coming bagged with a giant size header card, Skinner’s Iron Monsters will be touching down in the Critical Hit store this Friday, August 14th at Noon Pacific time, coming in at $250 each plus shipping…

Having delved into the extensive world of WWE over the past year through their highly popular Soft Vinyl Fighting Series, Medicom Toy are proud to reveal that the line will be returning to it’s roots this month with 2 of Japan’s most iconic wrestlers, “The Dragon” Tatsumi Fujinami and Genichiro Tenryu!
