Hot on the heels of his huge online drop last week (check it here if you haven’t already), Japan-based sofubi producer Science Patrol is proud to reveal yet another new figure that’ll be making an appearance in soft vinyl soon, the Patrol Tank (name TBC)! Taking a brief sidestep from the usual youkai and dungeon monsters, the beautifully realised piece has been inspired by both Metal Slug and Dominion Tank Police, featuring a simple chibi-style design that comes in 2 parts and stands at around 3″ tall. Pictured here as a finished wax prototype ahead of molding, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that the little tank will make it’s debut in the Science Patrol store at some point over the next couple of months…

Having had continued success with their Vinyl Artist Gacha line over the past year, Medicom Toy are proud to reveal that a fourth series of the multi-artist minis will be touching down next month! Once again featuring 4 of sofubi’s biggest hitters; Goccodo, Uamou, Max Toy Co and Noprops/Mirock Toy, each have contributed miniaturised versions of some of their most popular toys, including Unkotsu, Vamou, Mecha Nekoron and the Aoi Oni-inspired Blue Demon. Following a similar template to previous VAG releases, the set of 4 new figures feature a stanard 2.5″ tall 2-part design that come in a selection of 5 randomly assorted colorways. Our editor-in-chief Tru:Tek will be resurrecting the Gory Hole brand in time for a relaunch at DCon in November, bringing along the long-awaited first issue of the ‘zine, new apparel, a follow-up to last year’s bootleg monster rings, plus the debut of the brand’s first ever toy line… Warui Zonbi! Heavily inspired by cult horror toys the Ma-Ba Zombies – albeit with a modern twist – the series is set to feature a whole slew of soft vinyl finger puppets inspired not by the silverscreen’s classic monsters, but instead by the more obscure cult horror creatures that we ourselves grew up with throughout the 80’s and 90’s. With Series 1 featuring a total of 2 figures, we’re very proud today to be able to share with you the first… American Werewolf in London’s SS Werewolf! Heavily inspired by the cult horror flick’s strange dream sequence, the little guy has been re-imagined to closely resemble the “split torso” Ma-Ba aesthetic with help from Radioactive Uppercut‘s John Santagada, coming sculpted in-scale by the legendary Makino-san of TTToy at around 2.5″ tall. As promised in our announcement last week, we can now bring you guys a full reveal of the plethora of custom figures Paul Kaiju will have up for grabs at his impromptu Mishka LA show this weekend! Featuring a whole slew of beautifully painted Boss Carions, Kraken DX, Sally Joes, Mock Pilots, Mock Bats and a Gobo King, these will also be joined by a special “Devilman” Mockbat t-shirt that will be up for grabs exclusively at the event. Seeing a few very limited appearances in resin since its debut back in 2010, the Tarantulas-designed figure has been re-produced by Malmstedt in soft vinyl, coming complete with the same Glyos-compatible joint system (a first for sofubi, if we’re not mistaken!) and a standard capped base. Due to be making its debut some time in September – presumably at Superfestival – expect the full lowdown on these awesome figures as soon as we have it…

Japanese pop culture lifestyle brand Geek Life are proud to reveal that they’ve secured a license to produce keshi based on Tom Six’s infamous cult horror flick, The Human Centipede! Utilising the sculpting talents of Kenth Toy Works‘ Komori Kentaro Kenth, the release is set to feature a total of 5 mini figures inspired by the “First Sequence”, including the rather unfortunate Jenny, Lindsay and Katsuro, crazed surgeon Dr Heiter, and what we can only assume to be the “truck driver”, a failed test subject from early on in the film. Following the monumental return of Gogamejira last month, Medicom Toy are proud to reveal that they’ve once again teamed up with mysterious sofubi producer Anraku Ansaku for the revival of yet another much loved character, Zoromederu! Making it’s return in all 3 previously released sizes, the standard version (middle, 10.5″) has been produced in a red vinyl with classic pink, gold and black sprays, the mid-sized version (right, 4.5″) a red vinyl with mint green, silver and pink sprays, whilst the adorable mini (left, 3″) comes in a pink vinyl with black, red and blue sprays. Inspired by Japanese folklore’s “Jinmenken”, the human-faced dog, and Georges Méliès‘ silent movie “Le Voyage dans la Lune”, the super-creep moon faced beast stands at around 3.5″ tall, coming with one point of articulation in the neck. Said to be made up of biological waste (i.e. crap!), the scummy looking beast stands at a chunky 8.5″ tall, coming complete with articulation in the head, arms and legs. Produced in a purple soft vinyl and treated to a number of slimey black, green and blue sprays, the first edition of Gamaotoko has been limited to just 20 pieces priced at $130 each plus shipping. Ramping up the creepiness ten-fold from previous offering Smalmack, the mini-mid sized piece – just a little taller than Splurrt’s Cadaver Kid – features long, outstretched arms (compatible with the aforementioned Smalmack) a sinister oversized head, “Fancy Toy” Takemi-style dress and a separate mystical door omake.
