MAN-E-NEWS// The “New Sunset” Errants sofubi minis from UhOh Toys…

Aaron Arel over at UhOh Toys has just revaled that his “Errants” sofubi minis will be returning this week in a special “New Sunset” colorway! Consisting of all 3 2.5″ tall designs from the series; “Roku” the scientist owl, “Cutty” the cowboy bull and “Verge” the space faring lizard, the adorable 2 part figures have been produced in a milky soft vinyl this time around, coming complete with mesmerising blue, purple, orange and silver sprays. Priced at just $35 per set plus shipping, the “New Sunset” Errants will be up for grabs in the UhOh Toys store via limited preorder later on today (8/4)…

MAN-E-NEWS// Science Patrol’s “Patrol Tank” sofubi prototype revealed…

Hot on the heels of his huge online drop last week (check it here if you haven’t already), Japan-based sofubi producer Science Patrol is proud to reveal yet another new figure that’ll be making an appearance in soft vinyl soon, the Patrol Tank (name TBC)! Taking a brief sidestep from the usual youkai and dungeon monsters, the beautifully realised piece has been inspired by both Metal Slug and Dominion Tank Police, featuring a simple chibi-style design that comes in 2 parts and stands at around 3″ tall. Pictured here as a finished wax prototype ahead of molding, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that the little tank will make it’s debut in the Science Patrol store at some point over the next couple of months…

MAN-E-NEWS// Medicom Toy’s Vinyl Gacha Artist Series “Wave 4” revealed…

Having had continued success with their Vinyl Artist Gacha line over the past year, Medicom Toy are proud to reveal that a fourth series of the multi-artist minis will be touching down next month! Once again featuring 4 of sofubi’s biggest hitters; Goccodo, Uamou, Max Toy Co and Noprops/Mirock Toy, each have contributed miniaturised versions of some of their most popular toys, including Unkotsu, Vamou, Mecha Nekoron and the Aoi Oni-inspired Blue Demon. Following a similar template to previous VAG releases, the set of 4 new figures feature a stanard 2.5″ tall 2-part design that come in a selection of 5 randomly assorted colorways. Touching down at Village Vangard alongside 26 other Japan-based retailers throughout late May-June for a super-cheap 500yen ($4) each, expect a worldwide release for VAG: Series 3 before the year is out…

MAN-E-NEWS// Gory Hole’s “SS Werewolf” Warui Zonbi sofubi prototype revealed…

Our editor-in-chief Tru:Tek will be resurrecting the Gory Hole brand in time for a relaunch at DCon in November, bringing along the long-awaited first issue of the ‘zine, new apparel, a follow-up to last year’s bootleg monster rings, plus the debut of the brand’s first ever toy line… Warui Zonbi! Heavily inspired by cult horror toys the Ma-Ba Zombies – albeit with a modern twist – the series is set to feature a whole slew of soft vinyl finger puppets inspired not by the silverscreen’s classic monsters, but instead by the more obscure cult horror creatures that we ourselves grew up with throughout the 80’s and 90’s. With Series 1 featuring a total of 2 figures, we’re very proud today to be able to share with you the first… American Werewolf in London’s SS Werewolf! Heavily inspired by the cult horror flick’s strange dream sequence, the little guy has been re-imagined to closely resemble the “split torso” Ma-Ba aesthetic with help from Radioactive Uppercut‘s John Santagada, coming sculpted in-scale by the legendary Makino-san of TTToy at around 2.5″ tall. MAN-E-NEWS// The “Bloody” Gero sofubi micro-run from Blood Guts Toys x Slave One…

Izumonster over at Blood Guts Toys is the latest artist to take on Slave One‘s Gero sofubi, proudly presenting the “Bloody” micro-run! Limited to an edition of 7 pieces this time around, the 6.5″ tall soft vinyl figures have been treated to a number of unique bloody sprays, rubs and hand painted detailing courtesy of Izu, each coming packed with a custom header and postcard for just 10,000yen ($81) each plus shipping. Currently up for grabs via e-mail order, interested parties are going to need to fire over their name, address, telephone number, payment method (PayPal / bank transfer) and desired figure (A-G) to bloodgutstoys@gmail.com. We suggest acting quick though, as we’re sure these won’t be around for long…

MAN-E-NEWS// Paul Kaiju’s one-off custom sofubi for Mishka LA revealed…

As promised in our announcement last week, we can now bring you guys a full reveal of the plethora of custom figures Paul Kaiju will have up for grabs at his impromptu Mishka LA show this weekend! Featuring a whole slew of beautifully painted Boss Carions, Kraken DX, Sally Joes, Mock Pilots, Mock Bats and a Gobo King, these will also be joined by a special “Devilman” Mockbat t-shirt that will be up for grabs exclusively at the event. Opening its doors at the LA-based location this coming Saturday, August 8th at 7pm, anyone interested in bagging one of the customs are going to need to turn up an hour before (6pm) to collect a designated purchasing wristband… Here’s hoping some of the shirts make it to the Mishka online store soon after!

Having had continued success with his recent “Glitter Bomb” colorways, Datadub over at Fig-Lab is proud to reveal that he’s secured a fresh batch of Paul Kaiju‘s Unchiman sofubi in the mesmerising finish! Standing at around 9″ tall, the figure has been produced in mix part “Raspberry” and “Emerald” glitter infused vinyl, coming complete with contrasting painted detailing plus a “Morning Man” finger puppet omake. Priced at just 17,000yen each, both versions can be found in limited quantities in the Fig-X store right here…

Monkey3000 over at Ummikko is proud to introduce the latest Koningu colorway, the “Mighty Primate” edition! Coming in at 5.5″ tall with articulation in the waist and arms, the gorgeous vintage-styled figure has been produced in a flesh-toned soft vinyl, coming with a choice selection of brown and black sprays with dark green highlights. Shigeo Endo over at Bukimi Blasters comes with the latest version of his ever popular Evil Demon sofubi, the “Creature” edition! Standing at around 5.5″ tall and featuring 5 points of articulation, the neo kaiju beast has been produced in a blue soft vinyl this time around, coming complete with yellow, brown, red and yellow sprays with white hand painted detailing. Coming in at a special “Summer” price of just 10,000yen ($81), the “Creature” Evil Demon can currently be found in the Bukimi Blaster store right here…

Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys is proud to announce that he’s teamed up with The Tarantulas and Onell Design for the release of the “Winter Nibbler” for the first time in sofubi! Seeing a few very limited appearances in resin since its debut back in 2010, the Tarantulas-designed figure has been re-produced by Malmstedt in soft vinyl, coming complete with the same Glyos-compatible joint system (a first for sofubi, if we’re not mistaken!) and a standard capped base. Due to be making its debut some time in September – presumably at Superfestival – expect the full lowdown on these awesome figures as soon as we have it…

MAN-E-NEWS// Geek Life’s officially licensed “The Human Centipede” keshi revealed…

Japanese pop culture lifestyle brand Geek Life are proud to reveal that they’ve secured a license to produce keshi based on Tom Six’s infamous cult horror flick, The Human Centipede! Utilising the sculpting talents of Kenth Toy Works‘ Komori Kentaro Kenth, the release is set to feature a total of 5 mini figures inspired by the “First Sequence”, including the rather unfortunate Jenny, Lindsay and Katsuro, crazed surgeon Dr Heiter, and what we can only assume to be the “truck driver”, a failed test subject from early on in the film. Due to be making their debut in a keshi style rubber at some point over the next month or so, be sure to keep a close eye on Geek Life’s Facebook page here for full release details soon…

MAN-E-NEWS// The Medicom Toy exclusive “Zoromederu” sofubi from Anraku Ansaku…

Following the monumental return of Gogamejira last month, Medicom Toy are proud to reveal that they’ve once again teamed up with mysterious sofubi producer Anraku Ansaku for the revival of yet another much loved character, Zoromederu! Making it’s return in all 3 previously released sizes, the standard version (middle, 10.5″) has been produced in a red vinyl with classic pink, gold and black sprays, the mid-sized version (right, 4.5″) a red vinyl with mint green, silver and pink sprays, whilst the adorable mini (left, 3″) comes in a pink vinyl with black, red and blue sprays. Going on sale via open preorder through the Medicom Toy store starting Monday, August 24th, the figures have been priced at just 16,800yen ($136), 3,800yen ($31) and 2,800yen ($23) respectively…

TTToy have just unveiled the fifth figure in their ongoing, officially licensed IWA Japan Pro Wrestling sofubi series, taking on the mighty Chupacabra! Faithfully realised by TTToy’s Makino-san, the infamous reptilian wrasler stands in-scale with previous releases at around 4.5″ tall, featuring articulation in both the waist and arms. Due to make it’s debut through the Hinomaru-ya store on Tuesday, September 1st for just 2,000yen ($16) plus shipping, look out for a full-reveal of the figures’ first colorway soon…

MAN-E-NEWS// The Getsumenken “Moon Dog” No.2 and No.3 sofubi from Utsugiyo…

Elusive sofubi producer Utsugiyo are proud to reveal that their highly sought after Getsumenken “Moon Dog” returns this week in not one, but two new colorways! Inspired by Japanese folklore’s “Jinmenken”, the human-faced dog, and Georges Méliès‘ silent movie “Le Voyage dans la Lune”, the super-creep moon faced beast stands at around 3.5″ tall, coming with one point of articulation in the neck. Produced in a light tan soft vinyl this time around, Moon Dog “No.2: Green” – limited to 10 pieces – has been treated to simple green and yellow sprays, whilst “No.3: Camouflage” – limited to 21 – has been lavished with rather more intricate army green, black, brown and gold sprays. Packed in deluxe custom boxes with 2 Bikkuriman inspired holographic stickers, the pair are currently up for grabs via lottery until Wednesday, August 5th, priced at just 6,800yen ($55) and ($71) each plus shipping. Rather embarrassingly, we bring you details of the third poo-related toy this week, as the highly talented sculptural artist TKom proudly presents the debut of his second sofubi, the stunning Gamaotoko! Said to be made up of biological waste (i.e. crap!), the scummy looking beast stands at a chunky 8.5″ tall, coming complete with articulation in the head, arms and legs. Produced in a purple soft vinyl and treated to a number of slimey black, green and blue sprays, the first edition of Gamaotoko has been limited to just 20 pieces priced at $130 each plus shipping. It’s quickly becoming the week of turd-based toys, as not only do we have the previously featured “Dump Golem” from Target Earth, but we have another 2 “dropping” over the next couple of days… the first coming in the form of these gorgeous Unchimans from Gravy Toys‘ Bwana Spoons! Standing at around 9″ tall each, the Paul Kaiju-created figures have been produced in an undisclosed soft vinyl, coming with a selection of one-off Monster Kolor sprays in Spoons’ instantly recognisable, tripped out style. Up for grabs via the Gravy Toys store at 10am Pacific time today, pricing and edition size are still to be confirmed, so we suggest heading over promptly to avoid disappointment!

Japanese sofubi producers Target Earth return with a follow-up to last year’s “Low Brow Golem” release, proudly presenting the disgusting Dump Golem! Standing at around 8.5″ tall, the grotesque piece features articulation in the neck as well as an ingenious telescopic turd that’s been produced with a contrasting matt finish. Cast in red and green vinyl and treated to a number of brown, orange and black sprays with hand painted detailing, the Dump Golem is currently up for grabs via preorder for just 8,000yen ($65) a piece. Fresh from our tease of the upcoming “Pinky Punky” YouZha micro-run just yesterday, UK-based artist Secret Demon Services has just revealed the long-awaited “Dani the Sub-Human Girl” sofubi in-full! Ramping up the creepiness ten-fold from previous offering Smalmack, the mini-mid sized piece – just a little taller than Splurrt’s Cadaver Kid – features long, outstretched arms (compatible with the aforementioned Smalmack) a sinister oversized head, “Fancy Toy” Takemi-style dress and a separate mystical door omake. Set to debut in an unpainted dark lime vinyl in the SDS store over the next couple of weeks, Dani will set you back just $60 plus shipping…

But that’s not all! Following yesterday’s teaser, the “Pinky Punky” YouZha micro-run details have also just been announced too! Sculpted and produced by China-based toy artist Kearjun, the loving homage to Fulci’s cult horror flick Zombi stands at around 8″ tall, coming with articulation in the head, arms and legs. Produced in a flesh-tone vinyl and treated to a number of neon pink and black sprays, rubs and hand painted detailing, each comes complete with a custom nose-to-ear chain plus a pair of hand made jeans. Limited to an edition of just 5 figures, the “Pinky Punky” YouZhas will be up for grabs in the SDS store this coming Saturday, August 1st at 3pm Pacific time for just $140 each plus shipping…

Yep, yet more from Paul Kaiju today, as Toy Art Gallery proudly presents the latest version of their collaborative “Slugbeard” sofubi, the “Painted Purple” edition! Measuring in at a gargantuan 10″ tall and the same wide, the impressive sea dwelling beast comes with multiple points of articulation and even a vinyl wrecking ball attached with a real metal chain. Produced in the same lavender colored soft vinyl as it’s debut outing, this first painted “TAG” edition has been treated to a number of metallic/neon sprays and hand painted detailing.
