Whilst he unfortunately won’t be attending the event this year, Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys has revealed that he’ll have a whole slew of exclusive pieces up for grabs at ToyCon UK next month! Joining a limited micro-run of Rotten-X’s inspired by a certain “organic” superhero – more on those very soon – Jon will also have the latest round of Cyclops Dinos available in a squishy, “Ooze-It” green soft vinyl that come complete with an awesome new feature for the series- they’re fitted with squeakers! Going on sale at the ToyShack ToyCon booth on Saturday, April 26th alongside a whole host of other goodies from Triclops, The Tarantulas, Ralph Niese and our very own Tru:Tek, expect more reveals and release details closer to the event…

MAN-E-NEWS// Medicom Toy’s “Batman” and “Deathlock” for the DC Comics Retro Sofubi Collection…

With the “Boy Wonder” Robin receiving a release as part of the ongoing DC Comics-licensed Retro Sofubi Collection earlier in the year (check him out here), creators Medicom Toy are proud to reveal that his partner, the caped crusader Batman, is now finally up for grabs too! Joined by one of our favourite DC anti-heroes, Deathlock aka The Terminator, the pair have once again been sculpted by Bear Model in the classic vintage sofubi style, standing at around 10″ tall, featuring 5 points of articulation and coming complete with character specific accessories- a vinyl cape for batman and an awesome metallic ammo clip for Deathstroke. Currently available via preorder in Japan through the Medicom Toy store, overseas customers can find both figures on Rakuten right here for just $71.81 each plus shipping. Up for grabs until April 30th, shipping for the pair has been estimated at late July ’15…

Mark Nagata over at Max Toy Co is proud to reveal his latest sofubi prototype in full, the adorable Max Boy! A loving tribute to Mark’s son Max, as well as iconic Japanese mascot figures such as Sony Boy, the stunning sofubi mini has been sculpted by none other than Makino-san of TTToy, standing at around 4″ tall (TBC) and featuring articulation in the neck. A deceptively simple looking design, the little guy is brimming with subtle details, our favourite of course, coming in the form of the micro Eyezon that Max is hiding behind his back- absolute genius! Currently under production at the iron molds factory, we’re told to expect the little guy’s debut at some point in late April – early May. Stay tuned for a vinyl test shot reveal soon!

MAN-E-NEWS// Secret Base’s latest “Ooze-It” sofubi revealed…

It’s been a few months since Secret Base‘s Ooze-It reboot last saw a release, so it came with great pleasure over the weekend to find that an all-new colorway is due for release soon! Produced in what appears to be a glitter-infused clear blue soft vinyl with simple gold sprays, the 10″ figure – cast from the iconic 70s toy’s original iron molds – is likely to come packed in an authentic Ooze-It style box complete with rubber “ooze plug” accessory. Due to touch down in the Secret Base store at some point in the near future, recent social media postings suggest that the figure will be up for grabs at a new lower price point, presumably somewhere between 10,000yen ($84) and 15,000yen ($126). Look out for full release details on the figure as soon as we have confirmation…

Originally teased here back in January, Mirock Toy‘s latest – as yet unnamed – entry into the Dr Mirock series has just been revealed as a soft vinyl test shot! The first “real” mid-large sized figure in the highly sought after line, the absolutely breathtaking piece takes a number of elements from the previous releases, seamlessly blending both originally sculpted and kit-bashed parts to form the hulking mecha-diety that you see above. Presumably making its debut at Superfestival 68 late next month, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for an international mail order release soon after. Keep a close eye on the Mirock Instagram feed here for fully-painted shots soon!

Japan-based artist Brian Bunting has just revealed test-shots of 3 upcoming figures from his on-going Galaxy People line! Featuring as-yet-unnamed “Bat”, “Cat” and “Dinosaur” heads as well as an all-new body sculpt, the soft vinyl trio stand at around 4.5″ tall each, coming complete with the standard “arms up” pose as well as articulation in the head and waist. Due to be making their debut at Superfestival 68 on Sunday, April 26th, expect to see a full, painted reveal of all 3 figures as we get closer to the event…

Having had continued success with A Clockwork Carrot’s Lil’ Alex and Dim, BlackBook Toy are proud to reveal that they’ve teamed up with Frank Kozik for an all-new addition to the Clockwork Orange-inspired soft vinyl series! Whilst details remain scarce at present, it would appear that the third character in the line will be based on Alex’s righthand-Droog, Georgie, with the T9G sculpted figure coming complete with a new head fitted with an authentic Pinochio-style “maskie” (mask). Pictured here as a finished wax proto ahead of full vinyl production, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for the first release over the next couple of months. Stay tuned for a full reveal soon!

As if the secret batch of “Stealth” Oozeballs revealed earlier in the week weren’t enough, Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys has been hard at work on yet another hand painted run of the Disarticulators‘ debut sofubi – the Oozeball – proudly presenting the “Frankenruge” edition! Produced in the standard OG super-squishy “Ooze-It” green vinyl, the limited batch of 3 figures have been treated to a paint app inspired by Barom-1’s infamous villain “Frankenruge”, coming with a whole host of white, red and blue sprays and hand painted detailing. Created for Rampage Studios’ impromptu group show with Skull Head Butt and Leo Sofvi Bouya this evening (3/27), any remaining “Frankenruge” Oozeballs will – fingers crossed! – be heading to the Rampage Toys store at some point over the weekend…

Joining the slew of previously featured figures from Skull Head Butt and Roughneck:7 amongst others, kaiju blog/show curators Kaijumonster have just unveiled yet another exclusive they’ll have up for grabs at the Dutch Comic Con this weekend, the “Vamp Baron” FAKE BARON micro-run from Awesome Toy! Standing at around 9″ tall and coming with 4 points of articulation, the bootleg-style Red Baron “villain” has been treated to a paint app inspired by the below vintage pachi illustration. Up for grabs at the Kaijumonster DCC booth starting this Saturday, March 28th for an undisclosed sum, we’re guessing any leftovers will be making their way to ToyCon UK in a few weeks time…

Daniel Smith aka Turbopistola is proud to reveal that he’ll have a selection of new Ion Men customs up for grabs later on today (3/27)! Produced in Daniel’s exclusive “clear smoke” soft vinyl, the 5″ tall bots have been adorned with a number of new originally sculpted parts, including an alternative arm, ooze foot, articulated tentacles and removable weapons. With the finished wax protos for DeathCat Toys‘ first series of Elder Demons revealed here just last week, creator Johan Ulrich has wasted no time at all in getting to work on Series 2, as he proudly presents both finished sculpts in-full! Featuring the previously revealed hell hound “Cerebus” alongside an all-new, as yet unnamed wolf character, the Johan-designed and KtoKto-sculpted figures follow a similar aesthetic to the first series, standing at a little under 3″ tall and featuring a Bukkuriman/Ma-Ba Zombies split torso, finger puppet style design. Due to be produced in a keshi-style rubber coutesy of DuboseArt soon, expect a full release in soft vinyl later in the year…

The guys over at Blackbook Toy have revealed that their collaborative sofubi with rock band Suicidal Tendencies – S”K”UM-kun – has returned in an all-new “Cherry” colorway! Created as the mascot for the now defunct toy shop ZacPac back in 2011, the figure – loosely based on ST frontman Mike Muir – has been resurrected by Blackbook with a number of interesting refinements in tow, including new breast and back logo designs, hands that now sit behind the figure signing “SxTx”, plus the return of the embroidered mini cap- now an official, 4 1/4 New Era 59FIFTY! Produced in a hot pink soft vinyl complete with pink, purple and white sprays this time around, S”K”UM-kun “Cherry” comes packed in a screen printed drawstring bag with warranty card for 12,960yen ($109) plus shipping. Hot on the heals of last week’s micro-run release, Skinner‘s awesome “Morgogg” and “Ogos” sofubi return once more for an exclusive drop through Medicom Toy! Designed by Skinner with sculpting duties taken care of by the hugely talented David Arshawsky– the original sculptor of the ’88 TMNT line and Skinner’s recent Lurker minis – the pair stand at around 13″ tall and feature 6 points of articulation, each coming complete with different head sculpts and matching club accessories. Produced in what appears to be a white soft vinyl for this run, the duo have been treated to a contrasting icy blue and red paint app coutesy of Monsters Stock Farm. Currently available to Japanese customers in the Medicom Toy store right here for just 22,680yen ($191) each, overseas collectors interested in picking up the pair are going to have to try their luck through the dedicated lotteries here and here

Having already seen a couple of Japan-only drops since it’s debut late last year, the wonderfully strange “Toromi-kun” sofubi from Yoshimoto Entertainer x Medicom Toy has finally received it’s first worldwide release! Whilst the origins of the strange two-faced sculpt remain a little unclear, it would appear that the 6″ tall piece was created as part of a competition in Gachi a few months back. Produced by Masaki Sata (Bad Boys) with the aid of Abe Toru and Hirotasaigansho, this third variant of the figure – oddly dubbed “Phase 1” – has been treated to a mix of free and masked sprays in green, yellow, flesh, red and black. Currently available to Japanese customers in the Medicom Toy store, the figure can be purchased overseas through Rakuten right here, coming in at just $58.79 plus shipping…

It’s quickly coming to the end of yet another month and predictably, we all know what that means- a fresh batch of lottery sales from Elegab! As predicted in our reveal of Tatsumakira just last week, the all-new “natural disaster” monster sees it’s first general release, coming in 2 different colorways for it’s online debut; 1 in a purple soft vinyl with metallic sprays and another in yellow with neon and metallic sprays; both coming in at just 8,000yen ($67) each. Joining the Tatsumakiras, Elegab has also revisited one of our favourite sculpts, the Monster Police Car (MPC). Produced in a stunning clear green vinyl and treated to a neon and metallic paint app, the figure comes complete with a randomly selected “rider” omake for 8,000yen ($67). Making it’s debut at the Osaka Soft Expo over the weekend (check it here), GEEK! x One Up’s Jyujin (Beastman) Omega has just received it’s second release this month as a Medicom Toy exclusive! A follow-up to GEEK!’s original 2013 Jyujin sofubi, the breathtaking piece features a similarly impressive scale, standing at just under 12″ and coming with articulation both in the arms and legs. Produced in what appears to be a light grey soft vinyl and coming with red, white, grey and black sprays, the Medicom exclusive Jyujin Omega is currently available to Japanese customers here for 20,000yen ($169), whilst overseas collectors are going to need to fill out the dedicated form right here

Teased here earlier in the week, we can now reveal that “Phase 2” of Uncut‘s debut Splatter Retsuden keshi – Boropushi – will be up for grabs early next week! Inspired by cult horror flick The Burning’s lead protagonist “Cropsey”, the oversized mini figure has been hand sculpted by the artist based on his original Bikkuriman-style sticker design, this time around coming cast in choice of black (Darkness), purple (Zombie) and orange (Burning) colored rubber. Due to be making an appearance on the Uncut site next Thursday, March 31st at 8pm Japan time alongside a second version of the Boropushi sticker as well as an all new Splatter Retsuden pack (Vol.4), the figure will set you back just 1,800yen plus shipping.
