Mandarake have lined up yet another 2 must have exclusives, proudly presenting the Acid Yaghan and Jyujin “Therianthrope” (the metamorphosis of humans into animals) from GEEK! Sporting 2 of the most flamboyant paint jobs we’ve seen in a while, the pair more than live up to their edition name, sporting a psychedelic inspired neon blue with pink spots and a golden apron on the Jyujin, and a mix of stunning floral patterns on yellow and brown for Yaghan. Currently up for grabs through Mandarake’s dedicated pre-order page right here until March 5th, Yaghan has been priced at 10,000yen ($98), whilst Jyujin is available for 20.000yen ($196)- both excluding tax and shipping. Edition sizes on both figures are limited, so be prepared for a lottery to decide successful applicants if either are over subscribed!

Atom A has just revealed that he will be dropping a new version of the highly sought after Itchiness sofubi in his store this Sunday, March 2nd at 11am Japan time! Produced by Real Head, the “Adult” sized figure has been cast in what appears to be a tan coloured soft vinyl, replete with Atom A’s signature soft sprays in brown and cream. Available in extremely limited quantities, expect the figure to touch down for around 9,000yen ($88) plus shipping…

Karz Works have teamed up with Medicom Toy for the release of their latest figure, the breathtaking History Monster Triffid! The first release in Karz Works’ latest ongoing series, “Classic Sci-Fi”, the beast has been heavily inspired by John Wyndham’s cult 1951 novel “Day of the Triffids”, resulting in one of the most unique looking pieces we’ve seen in a while. Standing at 22cm (8.5″) tall, the figure has been cast up in a yellow soft vinyl for the release, complete with green, brown and red sprays. Thankfully available worldwide this time around, the History Monster Triffid can be found in the Medicom Toy store right here until the end of March for just 5,000yen ($49) plus shipping…

FEASTboy kindly shares details of his latest resin figure, immortalising infamous skater Lizard King as a 3.75″ custom bootleg! Kit-bashed, recast and painted by the artist, the figure comes packed on a Star Wars inspired custom backer, complete with authentic blister bubble and fully working skateboard accessory. Joining the previously posted Zangira amongst the barrage of recently revealed Feb/Mar releases, Medicom Toy have secured an exclusive run of Cojica Toys‘ adorable sofubi, Monoclon! Once again cast up in a light flesh vinyl, the 17cm (6.5″) tall figure comes with a stunning mix of metallic orange, silver and graphite sprays. Touching down in the Medicom Toy store on Saturday, March 8th for just 4,300yen ($42), the figure will unfortunately only be available for order in Japan- so be sure to hit up your trusted forwarding service if you’re one of the many collectors living overseas!

Teased here way back in November, Paulus Hyu‘s Sleepwalker (Nimbus) sofubi is soon set to see the light of day courtesy of brand new toy company Kurobokan! Sculpted by Chauskoskis based on Hyu’s signature French bulldog design, the little guy has been given a fully-fledged body this time around, complete with articulation in the arms, legs and head. Pictured here in a black soft vinyl (presumably just a test shot colour), we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for more details on the imminent release soon…

MAN-E-NEWS// The Painted Face resin multiple from Big Trubble x Anser…

Toronto based Laird Henderson aka Big Trubble has teamed up with established local street artist Anser for the release of the Painted Face resin sculpture! Based on the artist’s reoccurring character of the same name, the stunning 6″ tall piece was sculpt, moulded and cast in resin by Laird, with the finishing line work rather aptly handed over to Anser. Mimicking the way in which the iconic face is never drawn the same way twice (check out some examples on Anser’s IG feed here), the edition of 30 figures have each been produced in a one-off, never to be repeated tint, coming with a stackable top and bottom for easy multiple display. Priced at $300 a piece, the Painted Faces will be making their debut at Anser’s “Crowded Kingdom” show, touching down at the #Hashtag Gallery, 801 Dundas St. W. Toronto, on Thursday, February 27th. Yamomark have teamed up with Medicom Toy for an exclusive version of the popular rooster kaiju, Zangira! Standing at a lofty 24cm (9.5″) tall, the figure has been cast up in a black soft vinyl this time around, replete with vintage-style silver, yellow and red sprays. Famed for their custom GI Joe card backs, MOC JOE have just unveiled their first ever custom action figure, Sandman “Logan 5″ from the sci fi classic Logan’s Run! Kit-bashed from a variety of vintage 3.75” Star Wars figures, the film’s lead protagionist has been recast in a black resin, coming with a tight, factory style blue, grey, flesh and brown paint job. Not surprisingly packed on a beautifully realised custom card back, the figure is due to be released in a t-shirt and sticker combo set on the MOC JOE store later this week (pricing TBC). Limited to an edition of just 5 sets, we suggest keeping a close eye on the MOC JOE IG feed here to be in with any kind of chance of picking these up!

Blurble‘s Sparrow resin figure is set to receive an all-new Astro Boy inspired micro run courtesy of DuBose Art‘s newest member, Scott X3! Featuring a number of additional hand sculpted elements by the artist, including the iconic Tezuka character’s bolt-like hair and mounted hand jet, the 3″ tall figure has been recast in resin in-house at DuBose, with the unspecified edition coming painted in acrylics by Scott X3 himself. Details on pricing and edition size are still to be confirmed, so be sure to stay tuned for full release details soon…

Originally debuting (and instantly selling out!) in a blank orange colourway back in October, Michael Skattum aka Draculazer’s Slimebat sofubi is set to receive it’s first painted outing soon! Produced by Monster Worship, the 6″ tall, 2 part figure appears to have been cast in a bright yellow soft vinyl this time around, with what MW describes as “bedazzled swamp thingy” style green and silver sprays. Due to come packed with an exclusive header designed by Skattum, expect Slimebat in the Monster Worship store some point soon for around $40 each. Grizlli Atom aka Gnosis has just revealed that he will be teaming up with MonsterIsland for the production of his latest figure, the Ooze Corpse! Looking like a long lost ancient Ooze-It artefact, the awesome pocket sized figure should hopefully be seeing the light of day in the near future. We’re still not too sure if the little guy will be making an appearance in resin or soft vinyl as of yet (most probably the former), so be sure to keep a close eye on both Grizli and MonsterIsland IG feeds for more details soon…

In association with Lulubell toys and Luke Rook of Grody Shogun, Geoffrey Maxfield is proud to present the Gruin Kaiju sofubi Kickstarter! Heavily influenced by classic kaiju and Japanese sci-fi, the authentic paper clay-style soft vinyl figure stands at a lumbering 9″ tall, coming complete with articulation in both the arms and waist. Currently available through a number of different tiers, pledges for the campaign range from signed prints from the likes of John Santagada (starting at $20), a standard Blue/Purple colourway ($75 plus print set), a Kickstarter exclusive Black 2 pack ($120), plus custom paint job sets from artists including Max Toy’s Mark Nagata ($250 for the 2 pack plus 1 custom and print set). Featuring a horde of blank, mixed part and painted mash-ups (pricing TBC), a painted run of clear cast Mad Mad Patchi Men from none other than Paul Kaiju ($60), and a batch of Necro Nekos painted by Evil Dave ($50), we suggest heading over to the store prompt to avoid disappointment as supplies are sure to be limited…

Whilst the recent 8-Ball Kickstarter shattered it’s target funding, creator John Santagada over at Radioactive Uppercut has bowed to the requests of fans who missed out by offering up the figure in both “Standard” and “DIY” colourways one last time! Standing at around 4″ of Japanese produced soft vinyl and coming with articulation in the neck and shoulders, the pair are currently up for grabs in the Radioactive Uppercut store for just $50 and $40 respectively. It would appear that Mechavirus‘ long awaited Ammonaito sofubi is finally nearing it’s first release, with the reveal of the first ever test paints courtesy of Monster Kolor! Originally seeing numerous releases in resin, the tentacled kaiju has been completely re-tooled for the new medium, featuring a slightly upscaled body, tighter/deeper detailing and a much more dynamic pose. Whilst we’re still not sure if the pictured figures will remain one-off customs, or will form the basis of future runs, we’re sure you’ll agree that the beautiful figures has been more than worth the wait! Cure Toys have just revealed the latest figure to get the FLV. treatment, James Groman’s Brain Bug Boogie-Man! Cast up in an unpainted neon green soft vinyl with neon pink “brain bug” and pincer, the 8″ tall figure will be dropping exclusively in the Secret Base store this Sunday, February 23rd for just 10,000yen ($98). Unfortunately the piece has been limited to just over-the-counter sales for now, although we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that any leftovers will make their way to the online store in the near future!

UPDATE// On top of the Secret Base store release on Sunday, Lulubell Toys have just revealed that they will also have a number of both blank and painted versions of the figure up for preorder today (2/22) at 7pm PST! Priced at $110 plus shipping, expect orders to ship sometime in April.

For the first time since their inception back in November, Buff Monster be offering the toys (and tokens!) from his toy machine online! Offered up in two different styles; Ice Cream Resin Heads and Melty Misfits Cheap Toys, the heads will be available in four main variations (Original, Zombie, Devil, Skull) and three rare variations (Split Devil/Zombie and 2 different Double Zombies), whilst the GPK inspired Cheap Toys will have three different designs up for grabs (the original Double Heather, plus toy the machine exclusive Graffiti Petey and Alice Island). Cast by Buff Monster himself, a number of different colourways will be on offer, including clears, opaques and a 1 in everhand paints. Up for grabs blind bagged alongside the original toy machine tokens for just $20 each, the online toy machine will be dropping in the Buff Monster store tomorrow (2/21) at 10am EST…
