MAN-E-NEWS// Nama Niku’s ‘Brute Squad’ custom keshi revealed…

With Toy Mafia seeing the final release of the awesome Top Rope custom keshi last week (a few of which are still up for grabs here), Nama Niku wastes no time in creating a worthy replacement, proudly revealing his latest kit-bashed monstrosity… The Brute Squad! Seamlessly mashing-up a dizzying array of vintage keshi, the 2-headed bruiser is due to come cast in a flexible rubber by none other than Eric Nilla. MAN-E-NEWS// The MANBORG custom bootleg from Goodleg Toys…

The fine chaps over at Goodleg Toys kindly share details of their latest custom bootleg release… the mighty MANBORG! Based on the lead protagonist of 2012’s cult B-movie hit, the guy’s first ever 3.75″ figure was created with the help of the official Manborg fan page, featuring a vintage kit-bashed body with some extensive re-sculpting very much in-keeping with the spirit of the film. Cast in resin with fully articulated, neo-mag connected joints, the hand painted figure is due to come packed on an authentic blister style backer. Given the thumbs up by the ‘Fanborgs’ as of yesterday (yep, that’s what they’re really called!), we’re told to expect a limited run of these in the very near future. MAN-E-NEWS// The Creep Show ‘Killer Roaches’ from Retroband…

Artist cum toy maker Retroband has just revealed that the highly popular Killer Roaches are to make a comeback for one last appearance! To all those that missed them the first time around (including us!), the ingenius release has been directly inspired by the infamous Creep Show episode of the same name, featuring a handfull of the gruesome bugs packed on an authentic vintage-style blister card. It’s this packaging that’s the real star of the show though, featuring some beautifully realised art (including a ‘cut out and keep’ panel!) that harks back to the original CS comics. Limited to just 15 pieces this time around, the Killer Roaches will be heading to the Retroband store this Saturday, June 29th at 8am CST for just $25 plus shipping…

MAN-E-NEWS// Blurble’s Sparrow resin test pull revealed…

“Sparrow is a dreamer, free thinker, artist and lover of food! In the early morning he can be seen riding his skateboard through the streets. In the afternoon he can be found munching on a breakfast burrito and then taken a siesta in the park. And when the sun goes down and the stars come out he can be seen roaming the train yard drawing his moniker on the sides of the trains. This is the life of Sparrow. Originally revealed as a finished sculpt last month courtesy of ERA Sculpture‘s Josh Sutton, Blurble‘s mischievous Sparrow mini figure has just received his first resin test pull! Hand cast by DuBose Art and Design in a super hard wearing plastic, the 3″ piece is due to get its first official outing at SDCC next month. No news yet with regards to where or how the little guy will be offered up yet (although we assume he’ll at least come painted w/skateboard accessory and sticker), so expect the full lowdown soon…

MAN-E-NEWS// The Breaking Baddie custom bootlegs from Falcon Toys…

Mike Woods of the newly formed Falcon Toys kindly shares details on his debut custom bootleg series, the Breaking Baddies! Kicking things off with ‘Zuck the Product’, a loyal protocol droid by day and underground ‘chemist’ at night, the hilarious Heisenberg inspired series is due to feature a number of 3.75″ kit-bashes, with a total of 6 already in the works! Cast by Woods in clear resin, the first run of Zucks have been sprayed and dyed in a number of different one off colours, coming bagged with header card featuring the character’s unique backstory. Priced at $30 plus shipping, Zuck can be found on the Flacon Toys store right here. Stay tuned for info on the next 2 releases, Krush and Cosmonaut, later this week!

MAN-E-NEWS// Mutant Vinyl Hardcore’s Death Vader Beserker lottery…

Teased here earlier in the week, Rich over at Mutant Vinyl Hardcore has finally given the full lowdown on the awesome Death Vader Berserker release! Whilst we wait with baited breath for the first official drop, Rich has managed to secure a batch of 20 Berserker heads that have been attached to the standard club-armed Ollie. Cast in a glossy black soft vinyl, the lumbering 14″ monstrosity has been painted in a tight selection of metallic silver, blue and red sprays inspired by the Dark Lord himself. Priced at just $155 plus shipping, the beast will be up for grabs via the usual lottery system. Fresh from the success of the ‘Bling Bling‘ Sgt. Corpse Grinder, the guys over at Blockheads Toys come with the latest donated piece for their on-going “Fight Cancer Toy Drive”, the Eddie Guerreroraptor custom bootleg! Kindly donated by Monsterfoot Creations, the one-off figure has been kit-bashed using a vintage Eddie Guerrero wrestling figure and JP raptor dinosaur head, coming with additional clay-sculpted details on the neck/chest area. Lovingly sprayed by Blockheads in a gorgeous mix of vibrant yellows, greens and black, the fearsome beast comes complete with custom championship belt… Due to go on sale through the BT store this Saturday, June 29th at 1pm PST, a donation price has been set at a very reasonable $50 plus shipping, with 100% of the profits going towards the guy’s roommate’s fight for cancer- A truly worthy cause, and an awesome toy to boot! Having spawned numerous one-off pieces, limited painted runs and even a full-sized sofubi in the form of the Cave Guard, Healeymade celebrates 3 years of the Ghroul custom bootleg with the reveal of the ‘White’ anniversary exclusive! Cast in a stunning pure white unpainted resin (this is NOT a DIY blank guys!), the 3.75″ mash-up will be touching down in the Healeymade store this Thursday, June 27th at 10pm EST. Pricing and edition size are still to be confirmed, but we’re guessing that regardless of either, you’re going to need to set your alarms to be in with a chance of nabbing one! Sculpted by Splurrt, the latest figure features a fleshless, super-sized (and super detailed) version of the popular Usir sculpt on top of the standard MVH DX body. Hot off the heels of the beautifully realised Darth Maul Bonehead posted earlier in the month, Rich over at UME Toys has set about applying the same distinctive weathered stencilling to nearly every single member of the UME resin family! Opting for a white on black skull design this time around (a nod to one of Rich’s earliest one-off sculpts, Skully), the impressive batch of 11 customs will be making an appearance at the Cardiff Tattoo & Toy Con later this month, with any remaining heading to the UME store soon after… Stay tuned for yet more UME CTaTC exclusives over the coming weeks!

MAN-E-XCLUSIVE// The Disarticulators’ ‘Madball of Death’ revealed in full…

Following the debut (and sell-out!) of our latest release at Clutter’s Toy Mafia over the weekend, we’ve decided to treat you guys to a closer look at the one and only Madball of Death… Inspired by AmToys’ classic 80′s gross-out toy line, 50′s sci-fi and a dash of neo-kaiju, the incredible 2″ tall figure was designed and sculpted by Zectron, with production duties handed to Tru:Tek. Replete with a number of ingenius design features including a lenticular skull/cyclops head, exposed brain, and hollowed out eyes, the pièce de résistance has got to be the figure’s central mechanism… featuring 2 magnetically joined halves that split open to reveal a grotesque tentacled parasite lurking inside!

Cast in a super-bouncy polyurethane rubber, each ball comes packed with a Disarticulator button, plus some jaw-dropping header art from the collaborative minds of Zectron and Ralph Niese… Whilst the Toy Mafia exclusives have unfortunately already sold out, we will be running a number of others in the run up to the general release in August (including the pictured Test Shot Blue), so be sure to keep your ear to the ground for more exclusive details soon!

Created by Haddy under the mentorship of SUNGUTS during his 3 month ‘Sofubi study tour’ in Tokyo earlier this year, the super-cute minis have been cast in clear soft vinyl, featuring sprays, brushwork, and in the case of Kowaiila, a belly full of pom poms courtesy of Blurble. Limited to just 5 of each, the pair will be touching down in the Blurble store this coming Wednesday, June 26th at 12pm PST for just $40 a piece…

MAN-E-NEWS// Zoomoth’s latest Wonder Festival exclusive keshi teased…

With the Summer ’13 Wonder Festival just around the corner, the highly talented duo over at Zoomoth have begun teasing their latest exclusive keshi release, and judging by the first pixellated reveal, we’re most certainly in for a doozy! Consisting of 2 figures this time around, the PVC injection moulded pair have been taken from a soon to be confirmed 80’s video game- another NES classic if past releases are to go by! As with Zoomoth’s many other keshi, these guys are likely to be licensed for just one day at the festival with no additional sales, so if you’re interested in picking them up you better start looking for a toy mule ASAP! Fresh from the recent collaboration with Mark Ultra, Andrew Geddes aka Green Plastic Tunnels kindly shares details of his latest pair of custom bootlegs… the Surgeon and Dungeon Treader! Originally released as a Novelty Haus exclusive back in April, the Tron booted Surgeon has been cast up in a multitude of contrasting primary coloured resins this time around, coming complete with removable surgical cleavers for interstellar amputations! Priced at a very reasonable $20 plus shipping, each figure comes with a handmade header and custom button… Joining the Surgeons, the mini Dungeon Treader mash-ups are also up for grabs in a number of different one-off colourways (pictured here). “Ever wonder what your teeth would look like after they spend 24hours in cola? or from not brushing them after eating your body weight in sugar? Well Creo Design knows and proudly brings you Tooth Decay…”

One man resin machine Chris Alexander over at Creo Design takes time out from his busy schedule of collaborative projects to release his first ever resin figure of his own design… the gruesome Tooth Decay! Measuring at a whopping 7″ high and 5″ wide, the impressive piece is due to come cast solid in Creo’s own unique blend of resin, with this initial ivory-white colourway limited to just 9 pieces- why 9? well simple – it’s 1 more than 8 and 1 less than 10! With a due date of around July/August, expect to see Tooth Decay in the Creo store for around £200 ($300) shipped. MAN-E-NEWS// The Cadaver Kid micro run from Skinner x Splurrt revealed…

We bring you yet another reveal from Skinner today courtesy of the new Instagram video feature… a full painted run of custom Cadaver Kids! Featuring what looks like 10 (TBC) of Splurrt‘s highly popular sofubi mini, each has been expertly sprayed in a patchwork mix of flesh pink, green and blue V Color sprays with white, black, red and yellow detailing.
